### 2/5 — VR doesn’t work

*2021-02-19, version 2.02*

When choosing the goggles, the view just shakes and spins around like crazy, it actually hurts to look at. Made the cardboard goggles they sent pointless

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Goggles don’t work!

*2021-02-18, version 2.02*

Goggles don’t work with iOS14, slightly disappointed.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work on iOS 14 or later

*2021-02-18, version 2.02*

They need to update this if they want iPhone users to be able to use it

### 1/5 — Glitch

*2021-02-18, version 2.02*

I got a super cool box in the mail from the university of Oregon and was really looking forward to opening it. Come to find out it’s a cardboard VR headset. Such a cool idea so I downloaded this app and popped the headset on. Immediately the interface glitched and it displayed spinning and flashing images, too fast to see. The handheld version works perfect but as soon as it switches to the headset version it does this glitch. Would strongly advise those with epilepsy to stay away from using the headset version until this error is fixed. Other than that it’s an awesome idea and a well designed interface.

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2021-02-17, version 2.02*

When you choose the goggles option, the screen goes crazy.

### 1/5 — pain

*2021-02-17, version 2.02*

almost gave me a seizure but thanks anyway tho

### 1/5 — doesnt work in ios 14

*2021-02-17, version 2.02*

the image won’t stay still at all when using the viewer

### 1/5 — VR View Isn’t Working

*2021-02-16, version 2.02*

I absolutely love the idea for this app but the VR view is super shaky for some reason.

### 1/5 — disappointing

*2021-02-16, version 2.02*

the goggles don’t work with ios14, disappointed

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work with iOS 14.4

*2021-02-15, version 2.02*

Too bad! UO spent a lot of money on the viewer and the app, but the image is a garbled mess when using the viewer.

### 2/5 — Wonder what the budget was on this...

*2021-02-24, version 2.02*

We got the cardboard viewer mailer. First, I would guess that 70%+ of people don’t really ever even try to download the associated app. The directions on the box were really not that instructive.
But I was determined, so download the app, put the phone back in the cardboard and all I see now is a vertigo inducing spinning video.
These types of campaigns are super expensive especially when you drop the ball when the user jumps thru all of the hoops.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — it’s cool idc

*2024-04-06*

smart marketing strategy, probably wouldn’t have checked out actual campus to the extent i did with this this.

### 5/5 — Awesome for more reasons than one

*2022-02-25, version 3.0.2*

The app was clean of bugs, full of information, and amazing videos of activities ranging although out the campus and it’s many amenities. Also not to mention it’s a great accommodation for those who cannot afford to visit out of state campuses. I’m lucky enough to have been awarded a scholarship to be able to afford possibly attending here and this just made my decision on going to UO a little clearer. It’s certainly higher on my list compared to the other colleges. and not to mention the VR set I received in the mail was cardboard which you can recycle once done with. Glad to see y’all looking out of the environment. THANK YOU UO!!

### 5/5 — Good

*2022-02-23, version 3.0.2*

super fun and immersive experience of the Oregon campus

### 5/5 — Every school should strive to have an app like this

*2021-03-28, version 3.0.0*

This app is well executed and perfect for our current times. It was easy to follow the directions and all 4 of us needed no instructions to use once we started using this. An excellent demonstration on how to do a virtual campus tour.

### 5/5 — 360

*2018-04-03, version 1.33*

Very neat! can not wait to start next fall

### 5/5 — Super cool app!

*2018-03-23, version 1.33*

Well made and intuitive. Really digging the 360.

### 5/5 — Great Interface & Very Cool VR Program!

*2018-03-23, version 1.33*

I got a box in the mail from University of Oregon and I was really surprised to find out that the small box was a Virtual Reality headset. Being somewhat skeptical of how well it was going to work, I downloaded the app and tried it for myself. Let me just say, it has a wonderful interface and you can see everything in 360 degrees in beautiful Eugene, Oregon. Moreover, the videos and places shown were all serene. Great job to the developers that made this, I am equally as impressed by the school and the attention to detail.

### 4/5 — Really Cool with VR product

*2022-02-26, version 3.0.2*

So yes I definitely agree with the waste of expensive product, but if I’m reviewing the app with the cardboard UO product itself, it’s SUPER cool I can’t lie. I’ve never really gotten to see VR and when I took my phone case off and clasped it into the cardboard VR and put some of my music on it was sick. One thing is it did take me awhile to figure out assembling it together so I had to look it up..

### 3/5 — Cool, but…

*2023-03-18*

Awesome app concept, however, the latest VR goggles do not fit the latest phones 😔

### 3/5 — Good app but the waste?!??

*2022-02-19, version 3.0.2*

I thought we were supposed to be like somewhat aware of consuming products. No doubt this isn’t the WORST thing possible but they are basically being sent just to be thrown away! Especially if they are sending them to everyone which might not be the case, but still. I’m already signed up for this school but if I wasn’t I probably would take this as a sign they care more about money than the environment. I wish that they had done an opt in in the acceptance letter or something. Like if you wanted one you could just send an included postcard with pre-paid postage back to the u of o. That way it could be easily accessible and not nearly as wasteful. Although sending information about what parts are recyclable would be nice too. Or including information about recycling it later on campus.

All in all the vr set isn’t well made, the cardboard broke when I opened it rendering it much harder to use as I had to hold my phone in place. It’s not badly designed and the app itself was decently immersive(the only reason I didn’t give it one star.) but yeah opt in swag would’ve been nice, like the choice between a cardboard headset, a cheap t-shirt or a set of cheap stickers. Might be harder for actual people, or not as hard if less people send the postcard back…
