That will help to listen to video whilst we are off the internet. ### 1/5 — Future Ruiners | Not Recommended *2023-07-08* I am a student at upGrad for an MBA global batch. I would like to strongly say that if possible, enroll with the respective university directly and not through upGrad as the portal is just a mediator who have all the control over taking fees ‘BUT’ no control over how the professors grade you or take assessments. You wont even have the opportunity to consult your assignments with the professors on a one-on-one basis before submission which leaves a lot of ground for error, loss of marks and even failure. The university tries to flunk people so they can get money in asking the student to resit and also to avoid rewarding degrees to students of foreign origin whosoever they can. The student buddies are laidback & wont respond to you even in case of emergency coz there is no direct link with them either not even a whats app number. The upGrad team is usually unhelpful and would only ask you to wait if things go south or ask you to retake till you somehow manage your assessments on your own without any direction except for TA videos. No reviews, no pre assessments, nothing. So, yea, Good Luck with that! As a topper in my UG program, doing my PG from a university through upGrad was certainly a mistake. Just hoping to get my degree this year so I do not have to worry about two years of my life getting wasted. Although, the way this is going, i think my two years are wasted in terms of money n time both ### 1/5 — Wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy *2022-10-09* Where do I even begin? I enrolled for a diploma course on healthcare management Sept 2021. The moment the marketing team got a hint of my interest in the course they began their incessant calls like hungry vultures. I would specifically like to mention a ‘Blessen Babu’ from the marketing team who emotionally blackmailed me and wrote an apology letter for doing the same later. I almost gave up the idea of enrolling but did it anyway seeing few positive reviews which I now believe were fraudulent. The course began at an okay note. It has several prerecorded videos and tasks, so not much effort required from upgrad end. Gradually the faculty taking the weekly online sessions reduced and by the second half of our term we were only meeting one single faculty every week who was below average at resolving our queries and the sessions were largely unproductive. The feedback forms are endless. I have given several negative feedbacks over the last one year but it seems like it is just a protocol and not meant for constructive measures. The upgrad ‘buddy’ who is supposed to be our one on one student support system changed 3-4 times over our entire course probably also because they were fed up of the BS from upgrad side. There were so many technical glitches during live sessions and project submissions. I tolerated all this and more and completed the final project and the course in August 2022. Since then I have not received any form of communication from the upgrad team regarding the completion of the course, results of the project or certification. As a frustrated customer I reached out to customer care only to be yelled at by the customer executive for voicing my concerns. Please do not ever ever ever think of enrolling in any of the courses in Upgrad. It is a fraudulent platform whose main objective is to lure people into making upfront payment for the course and leaving you high and dry with a hole in your pocket. I’m still following up my complaint with the upgrad customer care. Considering involving a legal team if my issues are not resolved. They deserve negative star rating! Liars, cheaters and daylight robbers. ### 1/5 — Avoid falling in the false promises *2022-09-23* ALL THOSE WHO HAVE ENROLLED FOR 1 YEAR DIPLOMA HAVE AN OPTION TO CONVERT TO MASTER’S DEGREE AFTER 1 YEAR BUT NOT VICE VERS It is purely a business minded operation. They take full fees upfront making false promises. No refund is possible at any stage later on. I mean which educational institute takes up full payment upfront. Moreover, THE LJMU DEGREE IS NOT RECOGNISED BY UGC IN INDIA. During my entire EPGDS, not even 1 live lecture was taken by IIIT Bengaluru staff. All the recorder videos were 2-3 years old and It was very easy to pass, I did not even see the videos after first 2-3 months and still got CGPA of 3.5/4. Infact in the first course when I was fully dedicated, I got only 3.0/4. To my surprise, the thesis supervisor was not from LJMU either. If you want course for knowledge, it is better to go with other similar apps which offer courses at 1/10th and some 1/20th cost. These have absolutely same course content. If you want for real education, it is better to go with proper Universities in India which still offer Master’s Degree at half the price. Someday later if you want to enter Public Sector, that degree will at least be valid. ### 4/5 — Worst experience *2022-08-08* I am a student in upgrad. I took PG diploma course. I completed it on March of this year. Student support team is very late in responding to queries or request, i have sent a request last week, i followed up with multiple emails and i called upgrad daily(morning and night) to check about the status of my request, every time I call them, i get the same response mentioning “you will get a response with in 24 hours”. I lost my sleep because of this poor service. I asked to refund my money that I paid for masters degree that is going to start on next year April. They told me that I cont get my money back as well. Don’t join any course here, I felt really bad that after paying my hard earned money to upgrad, the service I got is the worst. I felt udemy courses are better than the courses provided in upgrad. Upgrad team called me again and again when they try to sell this course, but when it comes to the actual service, it’s very poor and delayed. **Developer response:** Hi Murali_shal, We regret your unpleasant experience. Thank you. ### 1/5 — upGrad is all about business and no education *2022-05-06* This is my second time writing the review because the first time I wrote, someone from upGrad called and requested to remove it. I was under the impression that they would change a change of thing about no. upGrad is shameless and all about business. They give false impressions about the quality of the content they are offering but it’s so pathetic that I would rather prefer Udemy over upGrad. It is so deceiving that I only realised half way through my product management course. The course is not at all engaging and all the content is pre recorded. I enrolled for specialisation program along with the base program however they have not given me access to specialisation courses while all my peers have started learning. Student support is simply incapable of handling issues, they never respond. This is the worst of all my experience with learning platforms. I turned down referrals because I don’t want anyone to go this. Once you pay them they don’t even care who you are. ### 1/5 — VERY VERY PATHETIC SUPPORT EXPERIENCE *2022-05-04* I called for extension of the date for one of the modules as I was stuck whole week and was unable to complete the module in time. They have an option to request for extension. I followed the process but only got false assurances that they are working on it. Lastly the time has passed and now my 30 percent marks will be deducted because of date violation. What is the point of putting the option of date extension then ? I called and emailed many times and at last all my efforts do not make any sense and i can see 30 percent deduction message now!!This attitude towards candidates clearly shows how they will support for job assistance. I have no expectations set now, I think i have made a mistake by joining Upgrad. ### 1/5 — DO NOT FALL INTO THE TRAP *2022-04-27* its all fixed and enroll and your money gone doomed trapedcinto the conspiracy Courses are extremely pushed hardly anything learned properly. To go along with the upgrad and university fixed conspiracy is hard for full time students also. Unnecessary making things complicated both university and upgrad end. Everyone needs to understand this is for working professionals. They have a system called upgrade buddy kind of communicator between college and us they act like principals and ghosting always. Upgrad student support that is a comedy session Request a call back or any thing they will call u and say ok upgrad buddy will connect you i mean really Anything goes wrong it is monetised to manage that. And if you want to just go along atleast 6-7 hours of engagement needed on an average course specific but all good courses like this and this investment to aubmit your assessment and finish module learning or not that is no one bothered I can write a case study on it. ### 1/5 — Disrespectful Executive *2022-03-14* I had enquired for a Ph.D course. When I told the sales representative that INR 7 lacs is too much, he told me if you cannot spend money just write it away that you are a doctor. He also told me that I don’t have any purpose/objective in life. When I told him about my educational qualifications, he said that He knows somebody who has 200 online degrees and said that I couldn’t get into a top B-school (indirectly called me a loser) and called all my degrees waste. That poor fellow didn't even know who a Company Secretary is and when I told him it is a professional degree like CA he said it is online (lol). My other qualifications include LL.M Business Laws from Mumbai University, LL.B, MBA-Finance and BMS. Lastly he ended disrespectfully saying that he doesn’t want to waste his time on me and ended the call abruptly. I enrolled around end of October for a Data Analytics & Generative AI course after being assured by my counselor that I was eligible. I clearly mentioned that I am a working professional. I was pressured to complete the admission immediately due to “limited slots.” I paid ₹10,000 as admission fee and ₹89,000 as course fee via a 6-month no-cost EMI. My documents were verified, I attended introductory sessions, and even received an offer letter. My course was scheduled to start on 31st December. Just two days before the start date, I received an email saying they can no longer proceed with my application, offering only a ₹10,000 refund. If I was not eligible, this should have been identified before admissions, verification, onboarding, and EMI initiation. My counselor is now unresponsive, which makes the situation worse. This experience was misleading and extremely unprofessional. It took almost three months for Upgrad to put me on their mainstream emailing list which was to send me weekly lectures and weekly updates. I had to really fight with the faculty to get my way and it was really unpleasant as an experience for both Upgrad team and myself. They kept saying we have added you and then I wasn’t added at all to the emailing list even when I kept saying I wasn’t . Finally I had to flag it to the escalation and only then it was solved. While it’s a a really good platform , the CTO /COO is probably disconnected with the daily operations detailing or rather the course director is probably not taking reports of each student. The CTO hasn’t worked on fixing basic bugs in the system. Every student needs to be taken care of and it’s been really hard to be part of this course from the start and I wish there is some empathetic touch to the entire course. I had to fight for empathy and I received it after a really long struggle. ### 1/5 — upGrad is a Scam - Don’t Waste Your Money! *2024-09-12* I completed a Business Analytics course from UpGrad, and it was a terrible experience. Despite their high fees, the support was nonexistent. I had to make countless calls for help, but none was provided. Even after scoring well and submitting all assignments on time, there were no rewards or recognition. They promised top-performing students would get placements, but even with my strong performance, I received no attention or placement opportunities and also they charge extra for 100% placements. The faculty and mentors were below average, and their promises were empty. In summary, **UpGrad is a total scam**. Save your money and your time. If you’re serious about learning and career growth, do your course from any other platform or institute, but **definitely not UpGrad**.
