## What is UPLINK?

UPLINK is not a study-session app. Write question/answer cards (or import a CSV), set a time window, and UPLINK quizzes you at completely random times throughout your day — a couple of questions now, a handful two hours from now. You never know when the next transmission is coming, and that’s the point: retrieval that arrives out of nowhere is retrieval that sticks.

A spaced-repetition engine tracks every card. Miss one and it comes back within minutes; keep nailing it and it drifts out to weeks, months, years — but it never stops coming. Guaranteed review puts a floor under it: force must-know material — formulas, key definitions, critical procedures — to reappear at least every N days no matter how well you know it.

Everything lives on your device. No account, no sign-up, no subscription, no data collected. Try everything free for 7 days, then one simple one-time unlock — yours forever.

• Random-time notification pings — you choose the days, window, and how often • Batch size scales with silence: the longer since the last push, the more questions arrive • Binary grading: Got it / Missed it — the streak model handles the rest • Back button to fix an accidental grade • Categories → decks → cards, with pause switches at every level • CSV import/export for backup, bulk editing, and sharing • iPhone and iPad

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3.1 — 2026-08-17

Fixes an issue after updating to 1.3 where the app badge could show every due card and transmissions paused. The badge is back to counting only asked-and-unanswered questions, and pings resume immediately — no action needed.

### 1.3 — 2026-08-16

- One app, all your devices — your iPhone and iPad now stay in step through your own private iCloud: same cards, same review history, and the very same ping with the very same questions at the very same moment. Answer some on one device, the rest on the other; badges and banners settle everywhere.
- No account and no server — sync runs entirely through your personal iCloud, which only your devices can read.
- Used UPLINK on two devices before sync? Your collections merge automatically, keeping the most-practiced copy of every card.

### 1.2 — 2026-08-11

- UPLINK on Apple Watch — a ping lands on your wrist; tap it and answer right there: reveal, then Got it or Missed it, then the next question, straight through the batch
- Double Tap support (Series 9 / Ultra 2 and later) — the pinch gesture reveals the answer and confirms Got it, so you can clear a batch without touching the screen
- Questions with pictures note that the image is on your iPhone; picture-only questions wait for the phone
- Polish and fixes throughout

### 1.1 — 2026-08-06

• Images on cards — add a picture to the front, back, or notes, from your photos or clipboard; tap to zoom during review
• Picture-only cards — an unlabeled diagram asks, the labeled version answers
• Study mode — cram any deck or category on demand: shuffled, scored at the end, and your spaced-repetition schedule is never touched
• Exports now include your images (zip of CSV + pictures); plain CSV unchanged
• Questions now appear instantly when opening the app after a notification
• Fixed a brief unlock-screen flash when opening from a notification

### 1.0 — 2026-07-30
