Know exactly what kind of labs have been ordered and get to see the results. Know what was discussed at drs visits in case I forget something. See what my next appointments are. And being able to send messages to my drs even with pictures and to get a prompt response so you don’t have to wait on a phone call is great. I can also pay my bills. The Carlisle UPMC Hospital on the other Hand, after my August 23,2024 ER visit was the WORST MEDICAL Experience EVER. The ER Triage Nurse after placing an Intravenous Line in my arm and taking 3-4 Vials of Bloodwork thens discards the associated trash from the procedure. When getting the Vials for the Assistant to take to lab she can only find 1 vial. Thats be because she THREW AWAY 2 of the blood vials in the trash can. She recovers them from the trash can (right in front of me) and says OPPS !. Then I sit in the waiting room in a wheelchair for 5 1/2 hours (with a history of Cervical & Lumbar Spinal Stenosis) . This was to much, had to check myself out and go back home….What an Awful Experience for such a Large Hospital Group. I arrived at 10am in the morning. They checked my blood pressure heart . They never told me that my pressure was high. I never got to see a doctor they give me a X-ray and cat scan. I was the only African American there. They kept calling all the Caucasian to the back about 6pm I didn’t feel safe to be seen by a doctor so l left without getting medical attention. Today I received an email telling me that an updated UPMC portal is coming next month. I have no doubt that the improvements will only enhance what already exists.
