## What is UPMS (H & UD)?

Housing & Urban Development Department, Government of Odisha is the nodal agency of the state, headed by the Minister, H & UD and the department is in its transformative journey. The department works to ensure equitable growth and sustainable development of cities and towns of the state. While remaining steadfast in ensuring inclusive, growth oriented and people centric service at every step of its operation, the department has been taking concrete measures for efficient management & delivery of civic services like provision of affordable housing, safe drinking water, sanitation including solid waste management, storm water drainage, sewerage, roads, public transport; and creation of livelihood opportunities by accelerating economic growth of cities/towns. Urban poor are also capacitated to assume new role for initiating and sustaining urban growth. The department has enabled the less privileged to take their share of prosperity and benefit from the growing urban economy.
