I just wish there was a way to add a voice note or other attachments, that would replace some other things for me. ### 5/5 — Goodbye Evernote. *2026-07-23, version 9.18.8* I am super pleased having converted a decade’s worth of Evernote notes over to UpNote (by impoerting the ENEX files - it was easy.) Evernote announced raising their prices to $250 per year. UpNote doesn’t have all the AI bloat. It’s interface is clean. Search is fast, and the web clipping extension for Chrome works great and is super fast. I tried a few alternatives but once I tried UpNote, I knew this was the one for me. Simple and yet powerful. Opens instantly and syncs to all my devices. I don’t miss all the Evernote bloatware! And I love one feature that Evernote doesn’t have - a note can be in multiple notebooks. The only Evernote feature that I miss is the ability to forward email directly into the app, but there are workarounds. And… it’s web clipper just grabs the content (so doesn’t try to save the design of the page like Evernote). As an experienced notes app user, my expectations were pretty high. I tried the usual suspects (but not Evernote) and found UpNote, and quickly became a fan. It has every feature I could hope for and many more I will evaluate as time goes on. This by far the best note app I have ever used, and worth a try for free, although I quickly bought a license especially for the lock feature. ********** 10 stars. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Total Incompetence: 404 on Password Reset While Logged In on Mobile? Absolute Clown Software. *2026-08-21, version 9.21.2* If you are thinking about trusting UpNote with your data or workflow, don’t. This app is an absolute joke. I am literally logged into my account on my iPhone right now using my Gmail. Yet, the moment I try to reset my password to log in on my PC, this broken piece of garbage throws a "request failed with code 404" right in my face. Are your developers running this backend out of a dumpster? How on earth does an active, logged-in account return a 404 Not Found error on a basic password reset request? Because of this brain-dead bug, I am completely locked out of my desktop app and cannot get any work done. A note-taking app that fails at basic authentication is worse than useless—it is a hazard. Fix your pathetic authentication servers or stop charging people for a service you clearly don't know how to maintain. It is impossible to synchronize this app from an older iPhone to a new iPhone. The instructions are incomprehensible and impossible to follow. I finally made it and now have the app — for what it’s worth — on both phones. In the process, I lost all of my previous notes. They appear to be gone permanently. I tried a bunch of alternatives, but most of them were missing simple features I use all the time, like code blocks. Then I found UpNote, and it has been exactly what I was looking for. It does everything I need, is easy to organize, works great, and made importing all of my Evernote notes simple. The switch was smooth, and I honestly have not looked back. The design of the whole app is so straightforward and easy. It’s all very clean but not overly sharp which is something I have been praying for bc all the other apps just hurt my eyes to look at.😂 There’s so many features in the app to use for when you want to organise your notes and colour code and all sorts, but the basis is all very simple so it’s still really easy for when you just need to jot something down quick before you forget. Only thing is tables and attachments are behind premium which are things I do use a LOT of, but I unfortunately can’t afford even though it’s still pretty cheap (£2 monthly, £35 lifetime). Regardless, 100% definitely recommend. I love its reliability and excellent syncs. The backups make it much safer than onenote where it was easy to lose a note.
