There’s just one app improvement that I’d like: after upscaling images, they lose some detail, almost as though a smoothing algorithm has been applied as well. I’d prefer the fine detail to be kept intact. This is not just in faces but across the board, sometimes to the extent that the pre-upscale version just looks better and less “plasticky”. A real AI upscale would detect what’s in the image and fully regenerate the image with AI. That’s not what this is doing. My image had no faces so I can’t comment on how well it handles faces. ### 1/5 — not an AI upscaler *2025-06-08* I don’t really notice any difference in quality when upscaling a video. I even upscaled a 240p video to 4K and noticed absolutely no difference in quality. ### 1/5 — I don’t know how they can call it upscaling *2025-06-02* So I only tested this on two images on my m1 iPad Pro but at the end of the process for each of them the dimensions of the image were the same. The first one had three human faces and I chose to upscale the faces as part of the process, whatever that means and the image had the same dimensions as when I started, but the faces actually had less detail than before I started the process.
