Looking at sites like BBB and TrustPilot, there’s too many negative reviews about the claims process. Among other issues, not timely and Upsie denying claims by invoking loopholes like negligence for accidental breakage. Fortunately I’ve not had to use the claims process for the devices I have under Upsie. I do see Upsie responding to those reviews but often just a pat response. On the positive side, they gave me a prorated refund for a cancelled warranty. ### 4/5 — App is buggy af... still better than Squaretrade *2019-06-19, version 2.1.0* If you’re looking for a warranty provider to replace the hot mess squaretrade has been shaped into to since Allstate bought it, look no further. If you have trouble submitting pdf in the app, try it using chrome on windows or Mac — the web app is basically bug free. For $3 less per device (many), upsie offers broader coverage for a year more than squaretrade does right now. Not to mention upsie deductible is $25 per instance of damage and squaretrade now charges $75. ### 3/5 — Plz fix *2015-07-19, version 1.9.1* This seems like a good app but idk what the hell I am buying. Stores always try to squeeze out every penny from you on plans and Upsie does an amazing job of combating this. It covers so many different types of damage and tech failures at a great price that I can feel at ease with my phone if anything goes wrong. The UI is clear and simple. Easy to find what I was looking to insure and I love the fact it tracks all of my purchases. Nobody answers the phones, the call center is open for a total of 3 hours each business day and is always “we have a high volume of callers please leave a message so that we can ignore it.” ### 1/5 — Frustrating *2022-12-25, version 2.3* Company sold me several plans and refused to honor the warranty. Better off just going to the website and not wasting the space on your phone. They denied my claim. What a waste of money thinking I would save some money on a warranty but they use loopholes to back track there way out of whatever they can. If I log into the Upsie website, I can download a copy of the receipt that I uploaded when I purchased the warranty, so obviously it’s there. But it on your credit card. Instant double warranty. Want piece of mind? Buy apple care. Just try and decipher the fine print on the legal document that you supposedly must read before buying. Word to the app creators ... If you didn’t warranty with Upsie...I’m so sorry for you. #nexttime ### 5/5 — Early customer issues, now a fan *2018-01-10, version 2.0.5* I had some issues as an early customer with two warranties but I’m now a convert and a big fan. The founder of the company took the time to reach out to me in both cases and iron things out. I plan to give them another try soon. Early on in the company’s life they used a warranty company called New Leaf who has since been replaced. New Leaf is the quintessential scam warranty company. At this point I’m a fan and would recommend to a friend. ### 5/5 — Phone warranty claim *2018-01-07, version 2.0.5* Been reading reviews about Upsie and a few talking about their past partner. They must be working with a great partner now. Made a claim on my IPhone 8 and got my screen fixed locally. Was happy that i had a repair shop a few miles away. My kids and I were out of state on a road trip when my daughter dropped her phone and shattered the screen! This was my first claim so I wasn’t sure how the process would go, but you couldn’t have made it any easier. I opened the app, called the claim number and was quickly directed to go to the nearest shop to have it fixed. I first went to an AT&T store but they told me it would take several days and tried to upsell me to another phone. Really?? But I found a phone repair shop and they had me on my way in less than an hour. From the time the phone was broke to having it repaired was only 2 hours!! To be able to get it fixed that easy and avoid vacation drama…THANK YOU! I'm a very careful person, so it's a fresh of breath air knowing I can have piece of mind without breaking the penny bank.
