It’s 2025, and this app cannot save my credit card CCV number. They make me log in, but then EVERY time I have to enter my CCV number. No other app has this stupid “security” feature. If Amazon, Dominos, McDonald, Chipotle, etc can all save your CCV number, why can’t Urban Plates. The other thing is that the app never knows where I am. I always have to search for the restaurant before I order, even though I’m literally sitting on on the restaurant’s Wi-Fi. Lame.

I would give it two stars except there’s no Tech Support in the app or even a contact.  I’m hoping that they’ll read this and do something about it.  Because the programmer who did this was very sloppy. 
They prevented any autofill of memorized text; credit cards, name, phone, etc. That’s usually makes me toss the app, but the subscription is a great deal. 
So I copy and paste the CC number. It was rejected because it has spaces separating the numbers! It must’ve been programmed by a grammar student.  
People complained about failure to charge, but it did charge my subscription so that’s a good sign. 
Can’t wait to have a meal there tomorrow and get my 35% discount! For five dollars a month that’s a fantastic deal. one meal a month pays for it. and it’s a great place to eat.
oh wait, it gets worse. I put a meal into my cart that I was gonna use for dine in. When I went back a half hour later, the freaking cart was empty.
But it’s even worse. Before you place your order, there’s no indication where the freaking address is.  If you go back and click on the order button and choose your location, the freaking idiot programmer deletes your cart. This could not be more stupidly designed. Literally. You notice it’s only got 11 years ratings in the App Store. Nobody’s using this piece of junk.  And the developers are too chicken to answer a bad review.

It’s been almost 3 months and this still hasn’t been fixed. I’ve tried the app and the website, I’ve tried multiple credit cards that I know work and it still has an error with processing payment. I’ve reported this through website help (with screenshots) and they say to let them know when it happens again and I do and they say the same thing over again. I’ve told the in store managers and have left my contact info and it still doesn’t work and I haven’t been contacted. It’s highly inconvenient to have to call in orders. I just called in an order and waited 12 minutes on hold before someone picked up again to take my order. Please fix the website and the app. I also cannot use the $15 credit that comes with plate pass because I cannot order online or through the app.

Would give zero if I could. I have tried every iteration/version of this app over 15 years and NEVER lets me pay. I always have to call it in and pay in store.  Every time I try the app looks different and I get hopeful then when I get to that part NEVER works.

App cannot remember plate pass number despite paying a $5/mo membership. Often forces me to pay full price. App functionality disintegrates when I try and input my plate pass number. Even trying to create a new membership with my order fails AND loses my entire entered order.

App glitched and failed to process the order after I submitted payment. Had to reorder. Deleted the app because I might as well order from the website which works well.

Update:
Can now use ONE partial gift card at a time. Additionally, if you’re in store and have the gift card saved to your payment methods. It is impossible to use that to pay.  Additionally the App will not display the gift card number for staff to help. If you try to lookup a gift card balance it brings it up in an external site / browser. Well, it tries to. It failed every time I tried. 

Beyond this. The app prompts users to accept cookies on EVERY SINGLE NEW PAGE. 

I wanted to like urban plates but they consistently fail to support their customers or provide an enjoyable experience.

This app is UNUSABLE. It’s supposed to save me money through discounts but if it never works, I have zero reason to return to Urban Plates. It’s literally not that hard.

Cannot use gift card to pay partial payment with credit card. This used to work. Now I can only pay full amount with one payment option only. This makes gift card almost useless in app.

We’ve eaten here a number of times. The food is very good. Ordering online the website encouraged us to order from the app “as the easiest way to order!” No, no it’s not. The app is buggy, couldn’t go back into a main dish and select the sides, tried going out and back in, still couldn’t get an order placed. We called out order in. I’m sure they’ll get this right eventually, as they run their business very well. But for now, sorry, the app is half baked 😉 Update: Good for you for reaching out in an effort to improve! In answer to your questions , we tried to order via the app a couple times and just phoned in our order in frustration. But no, I didn’t delete the app. We’ll try again next time we eat at Urban Plates. You guys do a great job, so we’ll trust you’re improving the app ;)
