It’s like why! Why is there a payment plan for families to pay just to find a babysitter last minute and then have to find ones that charge less. It’s bad enough they pressure you into paying more, just to find a babysitter when not everyone has that kind of money- some of us are just trying to get by. ### 1/5 — Zero customer service *2025-12-11, version 14.5.1* I was incorrectly billed. I understand we’re all human and mistakes happen. But I tried contacting customer service via email multiple times, and tried calling and have gotten absolutely no response. Even their promo emails don’t have an unsubscribe option (takes me to the main website when I click manage emails on the email itself). It’s a scam don’t do it ### 1/5 — DO NOT GET THIS APP!!! *2025-11-27, version 14.5.1* I downloaded this app looking for a job I paid for a membership to get a background check I passed my background check but then my account got hidden so I contacted them via email no response then my account got deactivated for no reason so I emailed them and they responded with an email saying that my account email that I was emailing off of was not connected to my account because I logged in with my Apple ID because I wanted it to go through on Apple I responded with the iCloud email and I said I couldn’t get in because my account was deactivated they told me to go to settings even though I told them my account was deactivated so then I email them again with screenshots no reply so then I go to Apple to see if I can get a refund and I was not charged through Apple even though I used my Apple ID for the app so I had to go make a dispute because they would not give me my money back and I couldn’t get into my account because it was deactivated and they weren’t responding to my emails so I had to make a whole case with screenshots of emails and i was on the phone with Apple and found out I couldn’t get a refund off of them so I had to go through all this because i was scammed my money was taken and they refused to email me back this is the worst app I have ever downloaded I am so upset and I emailed them multiple times and was very patient and I got no response ### 1/5 — Terrible Terms, Disable Auto-Renew While You Can. *2025-11-24, version 14.5.1* I was refused a refund of an auto-renewal from this app, which I haven’t used since 2023 (this is November 2025.) I messaged support explaining that I can no longer use the service as I’ve moved overseas and am not in a covered service area. I couldn’t even log into the app to cancel my subscription without using a U.S. VPN! And support responded saying there are no refunds in their policy whatsoever. It’s completely shameful: I’m not costing the company anything over the next 12 months for which they’ve apparently autonomously billed me. I’ve never had such an expensive product offer such poor, thoughtless customer service. UrbanSitter’s total lack of empathy and critical thinking makes me question whether this business should be overseeing high-trust relationships involving childcare. They seem more interested in profit than doing the right thing—how does that attitude impact the decisions they make for the platform ### 1/5 — Out of hand workers *2025-11-15, version 14.5.1* I posted a job for a night time shift 4:45-9:00 for 50$ and I had people apply, one of the people that applied wrote a personal message “I’m not willing to watch your son for that price and wanted to warn you that it’s not enough pay to have someone you trust watch your child and something bad will happen to your kid for that low price” … I pay what I can afford, and I don’t think 17 months old who is healthy and calm needs to be 20$ and hour when I’m a single mom being paid 11.70$ an hour. UrbanSitters own workers are saying that people on this app can’t be trusted and are fake applying to your job just to complain about 4 hours for 50$ also putting the idea into my head something bad will happen to my child. I am a single mom and just moved to a new area 2 months ago, I’m struggling with money and need a babysitter I can trust, and UrbanSitters is not the app that makes me feel safe and is not affordable. ### 1/5 — Terrible WASTE OF MONEY *2025-11-11, version 14.5.1* I paid the subscription hoping I found something but not at all, everything I applied to it’s “closed” 1 minute after, I feel so bad after spending and not earning anything DONT USE THIS !!! I WANT MY MONEY BACK !! ### 1/5 — Do not use!! *2025-11-06, version 14.5.1* I would not recommend the app as a whole, as a sitter that’s on bambino (which is SOOOOOO much better) and babysitting connections and has 80+ glowing reviews - urban sitter is not as known so not too many people on the app, I had to pay for the background check, which is cool. However, back in 2021 I had a ticket for driving w/o my license and that being said, I’m not allowed to be on the app. It’s never been an issue with any of my babysitting apps nor parents I meet on FB. They didn’t want to give me a refund for the yearly fee even though it didn’t work out for me. Suddenly, my profile was hidden without any explanation. I reached out to support several times and never got a response. It’s unfair to block someone without clear reasons. Anyone trying to find job through this app, avoid it. I used this for three months and deleted it, they have charged my membership fee again and won’t refund. No customer service number!!!! I requested a refund and cancellation, but I did not receive any clear or helpful response. This charge was made without proper notice, and the lack of customer support makes the situation even more frustrating. The app itself is okay, but the billing practices and poor customer service make it hard to trust. The app is so intuitive and useful. I’m so thrilled I discovered it and my only regret is not finding it sooner!
