## What is Urge Delay?

Urge Delay helps you put a little space between an impulse and what you do next. When an urge hits, choose what you want to delay—snacking, scrolling, spending, or anything you add yourself—then start a short two-to-five-minute hold. Pick a simple ritual like counting breaths, holding a steady gaze, saying the alphabet backward, or doing a quick body scan, and stay with it until the timer ends. When the hold is over, mark it as Held or Slipped and add a note if you want. Over time, Urge Delay builds a private history of your attempts and shows patterns such as your hold rate, common urge times, recurring impulses, and the rituals that work best for you. Customize your urge types, build your own ritual library, choose a default hold length, and adjust haptics to keep each pause simple and personal. Use Pulse when an urge appears, Rituals to manage your pause techniques, Ledger to review past holds, and Insights to understand your patterns over time. Everything is designed around one small goal: giving yourself a moment before acting on an impulse.
