It also seems to require a network connection, which is difficult to maintain when out on the water. Note that my first complaint might be removed if I were a member of US Sailing - I’m not sure, and am not willing to become a member to test whether that is the case. ### 1/5 — Not a mobile app *2022-03-29* The type is designed for large format. They didn’t even reformat it for mobile. It’s minuscule. Super disappointed. It’s just a doc. ### 1/5 — You have to be a member *2021-04-30* At no point does it say that you have to be a member of US Sailing to use the app. Waste of bandwidth as I’m not in the US and I’m never gonna join. ### 1/5 — US Sailing Corporation *2021-03-04* Would be nice if hey told you that you need to be a member to use this app. Not one mention except by a reviewer. And the response to that? We’ll add it to the description. Well, that was a month ago and crickets. Keep up the _______ work US Sailing and continue to make it clear you’re in it for the money. ### 1/5 — No mention of $65 annual fee to use this app. *2021-02-04* If one is not a member of US Sailing, one must join for $65 per year to use the app and actually see any rules. This should be disclosed in the description. There is no option to purchase access without joining. **Developer response:** Thank you for the feedback! We will try to make the membership requirement clearer in the description. While access to the full Rulebook and the Dave Perry content requires a US Sailing membership, we do offer a portion of the Rulebook and the entire Appeals book for free in the guest account. Also, you're absolutely right that it should be easier to become a member and access all the content. Look for that improvement in the next roll out, due in a few weeks.We do hope you'll choose to join US Sailing in the future and we appreciate your comments. ### 1/5 — wont run! *2021-01-30* I have tried running this program on my I-phone< Ipad and Macbook air. It never loads properly on any device. ### 2/5 — Internet Connection Required *2021-07-13* Although the description says I can see the rules “at all times,” what I think they really mean is “only when you have a live internet connection.” At least, I can’t figure out how to use the app in offline mode with the content downloaded—like when I’m out sailing! Or maybe content can be downloaded…and it’s a UI problem. Great potential, but the must be an offline mode. ### 4/5 — Great improvement *2020-12-24* This app is so much better than previous version. Easy to navigate and search. Love the reference pages and Dave Perry videos. A nice future enhancement would be hyperlinks to referenced rules within the rules text. The whiteboard is a great idea, but the boats are always head to wind. If I could change the heading of the boats on the whiteboard then five stars. Diagrams too. And now you can search the entire RRS and copy your selection. A+.
