### 4/5 — Great app

*2022-11-02, version 6*

Wish it had the upper level tests though

### 4/5 — Very helpful

*2021-05-07*

During the past several years, I’ve tried out several dressage test apps. USDF TestPro (and its companion FEI Dressage) are the ones that get it right. Using audio together with visualization was particularly effective for memorization. The ability to reduce hints and delay the audio as your learning progresses is also a helpful feature.

The only thing that I would change: the app reads everything out loud including the bracketed scoring instructions. These lines of text are primarily instructions for the judge (and secondarily to inform competitors of how the referenced movements are scored and weighted). As the test instructions clearly state, the bracketed text is never read out loud when calling a test. Hearing them read out is both distracting and annoying when you’re learning a test.

I liked this app enough to gift it to my (very picky) trainer...will await her verdict.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for your comments. Good point about the brackets, we'll add it to the list for the next release.

### 3/5 — Sound fails

*2020-07-04, version 5.1*

I have restart my phone to reset the sound settings. Otherwise, useful.

### 4/5 — Best way to memorize a test

*2020-05-21*

The only reason I did not give it a 5 star was because I did not like when you swiped something off the screen, it looks like it is bouncing off the side of your phone before it disappears.

### 4/5 — Revised Review

*2019-05-06*

Revised 5/6/19: With the Iphone update it works great now. I can listen to the tests while riding, the pacing is a bit off, but ow I can have a “caller” while schooling solo.

When this app works, it is a great tool. I can listen to the new tests in my headphones when I am riding alone. However, the sound plays only 50% of the time, when my phone’s volume is all the way up and the ringer is on. I opened it today, and the tests won’t auto play and the sound isn’t working. Frustrated with how glitchy it is. Hopefully it has an update soon...

**Developer response:** UPDATE: In response to demand we have now changed TestPro design to ignore ringer and screen lock settings.

The previous design used 'ambient' playback, in which the sound mutes when the screen locks as well as when the ringer is set off.

### 3/5 — Clunky

*2019-04-21, version 5.1*

Not nearly as elegant an interface as the previous USEF test app. The graphics are rudimentary and not terribly accurate. This app is an OK tool but it needs work.

### 2/5 — Ugly and unsophisticated

*2019-04-19*

Where to start... it’s just clunky and awkward, almost as if user experience wasn’t even a factor in its creation. The side bar needs to be able to be swiped away where ever it is touched, not just a button at the top. It’s beyond annoying.

The logo for the app that displays on your phone is different than the logo you see when the app is open (which is a ridiculous cartoon image). Branding is inconsistent and the colors are abrasively bright. Suggest picking a theme and sticking to it. It’s just all over the place and messy instead of clean and simple.

### 4/5 — Helpful and Handy

*2019-03-22, version 5.1*

Hello,
Enjoying the app. I find it handy. Would like to suggest that the co-efficents are marked in the freestyle test scoresheets at each level. Thanks!

### 4/5 — Test pro

*2019-03-07*

The last APP far superior. For example, you could see the horse under the line doing a half pass or doing a shoulder in. Very helpful for visual people.

Takes longer to get to the diagram and to move from one test to another bc of tabs

**Developer response:** Hi, we are working on a major upgrade that will offer an alternative format for those that prefer a different approach, this will be available free of charge to existing customers.

### 3/5 — Audio doesn’t work

*2019-03-04, version 3.1*

I like app the app, but having problems with getting the audio to work. As in it’s never worked. 🤦‍♀️

### 2/5 — Disappointing

*2019-03-04, version 3.1*

On previous apps the suggested arc of any corner was given, now they are displayed as if you are expected to produce a turn on the haunches/a precise 90° turn at each corner, which is probably unlikely at the lower levels.

I’d like to see more elaboration on any judges expectations in that respect.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Won’t work but will take your money

*2025-04-12*

I have had this app for a while. Last year I renewed my subscription and the tests still stayed locked. This year I tried again and the same thing happened. I have tried deleting the app and reloading and it still will not work.

### 1/5 — Where’s my refund?

*2023-06-06, version 7.8*

I purchased this app a few years ago and paid $16.99 for full use. I now have to pay a subscription for full use? That’s insane and in very poor taste for users who fully paid to use a product that they no longer have full access to.

### 1/5 — Increased cost with new tests?

*2022-11-22*

I used this in the past and loved the app. I’ve heard that there is an increase in price with the new 2023 app. That said, it is not clear in the descriptions what the price is. I will not purchase or subscribe to anything without knowing what the price/costs will be. I’ll be going old school with paper copies until communication is more transparent regarding the app.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your comments, I'm glad you like TestPro. The new version is free to download and try, you won't be charged anything unless you decide to purchase after you've used your free credits.

Apple don't allow us to put prices in the description, but you can check the current prices by tapping on "In-App Purchases" on the Apple entry on the App Store.

### 1/5 — Too fast!

*2020-08-02, version 5.1*

Slow mode goes too fast for listening!

### 1/5 — training level 3

*2020-06-29, version 5.1*

Training level 3 is missing audio and graphics for canter circle right lead at B. It skips right over it, goes directing to medium trot at A.

I reported this very same mistake in your app last year and it is still not fixed. That is completely lame.

Good grief. What a terrible job. I’ll be looking for a better app to practice dressage tests.

### 1/5 — Can’t get it to work

*2019-10-07, version 5.1*

Just purchased and installed and trying to test it, picked a test and hit “start” for voice, but nothing happens. Any tips?

### 1/5 — Horrible.

*2019-07-17, version 5.1*

Previous test app was 1000x better.

### 1/5 — Not at all user friendly!

*2019-07-07, version 5.1*

The most unfriendly app ever!!!

### 1/5 — Hhhhh

*2019-03-07, version 3.1*

The sound is temperamental

### 1/5 — Visually disturbing

*2019-03-03, version 3.1*

I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Absurdly helpful

*2023-03-30*

Just started my dressage journey. I was super anxious trying to figure out what on earth the instructions were saying on paper. This gave me VERY clear instructions and the various methods together to help me memorize the tests. Being able to not only HEAR the test, but to SEE it play out was great. If I wanted to test myself in other ways, I’m able to. Personally, I think it fits most learning styles. I’m recommending it to everyone.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for such a positive review, it makes it all worthwhile!

### 5/5 — Love it, just needs apple watch support!!

*2021-06-02*

The app is exactly whats needed- all thats missing is a way that it can be controlled by the apple watch so that the test can be read and controlled at your pace when practicing alone. Start, pause, go back a step, go forward a step, control volume all from the watch. Ideally, it would utilize the watch speaker to read aloud too. But I’d settle just for the controls!!

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for your comments!

We'll look into Apple Watch support for a future update.

### 5/5 — Can you make this for Apple Watch

*2021-06-01*

Excellent app, would be perfect on my Apple Watch while riding

**Developer response:** Thanks very much for your comments, we'll look into Apple Watch support for a future update.

### 5/5 — Totally worth the money

*2020-10-25*

Helps me prepare and memorize the tests with many helpful modes. You can listen to a walkthrough or trace the whole test on the screen to test your memory. Includes rule book and score sheets.

### 5/5 — Exc hi zech xX d?s m6 Hey cyt i

### 5/5 — Fourth-One

*2020-03-12, version 5.1*

Helpful!

### 5/5 — Really helpful

*2020-02-10*

Love this app. Easy to use, and graphics are just fine. Learned new test in no time because of combined audio and visual presentation. Like the forward cues, which indicate upcoming turns, etc. Haven’t really explored tools available via links, but videos look promising.

### 5/5 — If you’re on the fence + serious about competition? Get it.

*2019-09-18*

Repetition for the win! 🏆

“Repetition is the mother of learning, the father of action, which makes it the architect of accomplishment.” - Zig Ziglar

As a visual learner, I love running the pattern/s 2-3 x daily for 5 minutes max allowing me to mentally rehearse at home (at optimal times for the best outcomes). Next, I take that knowledge and increased confidence to implement in the next level tests by taking everything I learn from using this app with me in the saddle to further refine and finesse the big picture elements with my trainer’s guidance. All the while saving my horse’s mind from getting bored and her body from overtraining (by using optimal training times, duration, and frequency).

This app allows me to shave months off my upward trajectory. As an elite equestrian performance consultant and dressage competitor this is my #1 app.

Thank you!

### 5/5 — Super helpful for Adult Amateurs

*2019-07-29*

I use this app all the time to assist me in memorizing my tests and also for a quick reference of what the judges are looking for in each level/ test. The visual layout resonates with how I learn. I think the app terrific and well worth the cost.

### 5/5 — Great app to help memorize tests!!

*2019-04-07, version 5.1*

This app really helped me memorize tests and keep them in my head
