Also the app has issues with the continue button. I think I will stick to using the web version. ### 2/5 — App doesn’t work *2023-10-30* Desktop version works great but the app doesn’t allow me past giving access to the mic and recorder. The app used to upload super fast. Now it either takes a long time or it just fails to upload making me waste my time for nothing. Thanks, Mathias ### 2/5 — Not functional *2022-01-24, version 1.6.6* I have received and completed one test from them. It worked and I received my payment. However I have now experienced multiple times that I go to the screener and I get accepted and I go to put my phone on do not disturb as requested by the app and when I come back the test is gone. I just bought this iPhone and there’s 64gb on it...there’s no reason there shouldn’t be enough space to record a 10 minute video especially when I’m able to do so regularly from my photos settings. This app needs a serious revamp if userbrain wants to get its clients appropriate usability tests from its testers. But every time I login and try to start, it kicks me out and tells me “Session timed out” and takes me back to the login. Please fix! ### 3/5 — Can’t access any tests *2020-09-09* It was okay with the first test, now I cant access anymore due to the app not allowing me to for whatever reason. Please fix :( ### 1/5 — Cannot upload *2020-07-27, version 1.4.2* After finishing a test you pick the save and upload tool and it freezes to a ‘loading’ screen and never finishes the upload ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — App says no tests when I’m asked to do one *2026-06-14* At least for me, the app does not work at all. For example, a few minutes ago I got notice that I had a test waiting for me in the mobile app. So I immediately went to the app in preparation of doing the test but it said no test was available. So I guess it’s just not working or it’s not working for me. ### 1/5 — BE AWARE *2024-05-28* Lately, when we book tests, they force us to submit our real information. Then these companies contact us at will. It’s annoying and it blotches the experience with the reality that we’re exposing private details about us and our families. ### 1/5 — App is non functional *2024-01-03, version 2.1.9* App non functional. Appears others have had same issue but once you get passed the “record microphone and screen”, you get an internal error. ### 1/5 — App doesn’t work *2023-11-01* I have been having troubles with the app for a week now. It is stuck on “new test available” but once I click it and try to screen record it keeps going back out. It is not allowing me at all to do tests on the app. Luckily the desktop works great, but the mobile app definitely needs a major fix with this issue. ### 1/5 — Probably don’t get *2023-11-01* I like used rain and have completed several desktop tests, but the app is iffy. It won’t let me through the screen recording and mic access page, and the one time it did, i completed my test and it would t even upload so it got scrapped and i didn’t get paid. Kind of frustrating because it was a 45 minute test :/ ### 1/5 — Can’t screen record *2023-10-31* Screen recording feature was working perfectly fine now it’s not allowing me to screen record anymore making me lose money. There’s nothing wrong with my phone I have an iPhone and the screen record feature works perfectly fine alone. Nothing ever comes up. I have deleted and reinstalled and nothing seems to work. Hopefully they will get this resolved. Be aware they blocked me after asking for my money. They told me to update my billing, which I did, then wrote me another email to ask me if my billing was correct, which is right, then blocked me for no reason. I was not able to perform a single task continuously without an app crash but hopefully this update will remove these problems. The logo of the app is awesome too. I loved the clear new interface. 😍😍 😇😇 hoping a test soon. ### 4/5 — App works. Not many tests *2023-08-11* I’ve had minimal app issues. I had a test that took about 20 minutes to upload, although it finally did. Userbrain in itself doesn’t have many opportunities. I have taken about 7 screeners and completed 2 tests in 6 months. ### 4/5 — Sehr gute App *2021-12-03, version 1.6.3* Alles in allem wirklich eine sehr gute und sehr vertrauenswürdige aber auch übersichtliche und simple App. Jeder meine Tests wurde bis jetzt akzeptiert und meine Vergütung mir auch auf mein PayPal Konto überwiesen. Logischerweise bekommt man umso mehr Tests umso besser die Bewertung ist, weshalb man am Anfang mit etwas weniger Tests rechnen muss. Mein einziges Problem ist, dass die Tests die man zugesendet bekommt meist schon nach 30-60 min schon verschwunden sind. Es wäre schön wenn man länger die Zeit hätte die Tests zu erledigen. ### 4/5 — Generally good app with few issues *2020-10-26, version 1.5.1* I generally find the app to be robust and functional. Tests are enjoyable and I'm pleased to get the work. ### 4/5 — App crashed in middle of testing, long test, [problem resolved] *2020-05-18* This app crashed in the middle of me testing for a customer causing me not to be able to complete the test and me wasting time and losing money. One of the test I took was extremely long compared to the others I’ve taken (40 mins+ vs usual 10-15 min) for the same pay which isn’t fair. EDIT: Userbrain contacted me and resolved this issue for me. Thank you so much! This really shows that they do care. I hope this app continues to get improved so that testers and customers can have the best experience working together with no interruptions. I also hope there is future compensation or a report/notification feature to inform testers if a test is a lot longer than the usual 10-15 minutes so they can know what they’re getting themselves into and choose to accept it or not.
