It promised to calculate a handicap after at least three 18 hole rounds or combination of 18 and 9 hole rounds and does not do it. It assigned me to a non compliant club in Texas and I’m in Missouri. The club manager does not respond to messages. I have sent two tickets over the past two weeks for app support and received no reply. They promise reply in two days. I wish there was a way to get my money back. I have moved on to another app that is very highly rated. I should have paid better attention to the ratings. Don’t make the same mistake I did. ### 1/5 — 1 GARBAGE *2021-08-04, version 3.2.6* Do NOT… I repeat DO NOT purchase any sort of subscription to this app or from their website. I purchased it hoping to get a handicap set up and verified but NEVER received it for days.. weeks. I sent in multiple requests to their customer support and NO response whatsoever. The reason I wanted my handicap was for an upcoming tournament, so after the tournament was over I cancelled my subscription (still no handicap posted so what did it matter anyway?) I then filed a report with my card company because I never got the services I paid for , and they sent me back with a report saying my request was denied because there are no cancellation policies for GolfNet/ us handicap. Okay… but the reason I cancelled and asked for a refund is because I NEVER got the handicap or index in the first place. But, low and behold I got the handicap when the card company sent me a print out from GolfNet .. coincidence? I think not. No response from anyone at GolfNet until they got a chargeback notice from my card company and only then did they care and do something about it. Absolute scam, no customer support or results. Do NOT buy anything from this rubbish company. . ### 1/5 — Support Does Not Respond *2021-07-22, version 3.2.6* This is not what I thought it was. Is not affiliated with GHIN which is what I was looking for. They make it impossible to cancel your subscription. I have been reaching out to support for almost a year now with no feedback and cannot figure out how to cancel. It should not be that hard. I am at a point where I’m seriously considering just canceling the credit card it’s on and getting a new one. ### 1/5 — This App is a Scam *2021-05-03, version 3.2.6* Wish I could do 0 stars. Don’t buy this app. They don’t cancel your subscription when you ask and it’s impossible to speak to anyone on the “customer support” team. I’ve been trying to cancel my subscription for over a month and haven’t heard a response from any of my multiple cancel requests. ### 1/5 — Not Ghin *2021-04-10, version 3.2.6* I downloaded this and paid for the subscription thinking it was the ghin app (clearly not paying as much attention to details as I should). Am I the only person stupid enough to do that or are they purposely misleading people? After I’ve paid for a year subscription is it at least worth using? Anyone willing to explain to me the difference between this one and the ghin app? ### 1/5 — ABSOLUTE SCAM *2020-08-11, version 3.2.6* this is the first review I’ve ever written about anything because I usually just don’t feel like taking the time, but I feel like this it’s my duty to help others avoid this trap. I’ve requested to cancel my membership 3 times in the past month since my renewal is coming up and there is no response from customer support whatsoever. There’s no option to take your credit card off. It’s a complete trap and scam-this is downright illegal. ### 1/5 — Been using the app for a few years. *2020-08-10, version 3.2.6* Paid 2020 annual fee in April and App has worked fine until couple of weeks ago when and all of a sudden I try to log in and it tells me my username/email didn’t exist. Sent several messages to support with no response. I am thinking I am out my fee and the app no longer works for me, very frustrating. ### 1/5 — Would have been zero... *2020-07-12, version 3.2.6* Seems that the support model for the US Handicap app is, well, non existent. I paid for my initial subscription three years ago and allowed the annual payment to be auto-renewed through iTunes. In April 2019, my first subscription renew cycle, the app managers didn’t pick up on my payment through iTunes and my account reverted to the “free” version which does not calculate your handicap. I sent a support request to reinstate my handicap and it was fixed in less than 1 week. Fast forward to April 2020. Same thing happens. Except this time I have received zero response to three separate support requests over a 1 month time period. I also managed to find a phone number to call for support, and it always sends callers to voice mail. Again, zero response to messages over a 2-week period. Appears that’s $30 down the drain. Stay away from these jokers!! Instead, find a local golf course and buy a GHIN handicap through them. There is a great GHIN app to enter scores and track your handicap index. ### 1/5 — Big Disappointment *2020-06-26, version 3.2.6* I paid the $69 for 3 years of service but am getting no support from the service. The course information is erroneous and I tried on multiple occasions to get it fixed by sending in trouble tickets and trying to call. The trouble tickets are ignored and the phone number posted on the web site doesn’t work. I made a mistake by not using GHIN. I feel like I’ve been scammed! ### 1/5 — Scam- DONT DO IT *2020-06-23, version 3.2.6* I wish I read the other reviews because they are spot on. No customer service. No refund even after I contacted customer service less than 10 minutes after I signed up (I didn’t realize it wasn’t GHIN). Don’t be fooled that it pops up as the first add in google search. I submitted a support request immediately on 5/27 and only got a response today on 6/23 just saying “it has been cancelled”. No refund. No customer support. No other options. Total scam for people looking for a legit handicap. ### 1/5 — Read before Purchase! DO NOT SPEND YOUR $$ *2019-11-04, version 3.1.1* I did a simple Google search looking for a GHIN handicap for a tournament I wanted to play in. This was the first site to pop up (clearly paying for that key word to show up on the list) signed up, payed the $30, entered scores and given a handicap #(very similar to a GHIN) Try to look myself up on the GHIN system and low and behold...not there. Digging thru the US handicap website I come to learn it’s not affiliated with the GHIN system however claim to be a USGA certified handicap. AVOID spending your money here. The Grint offers the same USGA certified handicap however the app is 1000x better. When I went to cancel my account 20 minutes after purchasing I was told I have to reach out to the support team. Finally got an email that said “Your account has been cancelled, but no refund can be processed in this situation” with no reason behind that policy, other than “because we said so” They clearly know that the customers they sign up are looking for something else, otherwise why wouldn’t they refund the $30 and avoid a negative review on a bad customer experience. One last warning: DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THIS APP ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Wish I could give it zero stars *2023-04-27* Sadly I bought a 3 yr membership. After entering a score incorrectly and finally figuring out how to contact someone to try to correct it I received this reply: “ You can no longer use the app to generate a USGA handicap. It can only be used to record scores. Have a great day”. Ummmm The name of the app is USHandicap. Yet it can’t be used to generate a handicap. Wish there was a way to get my money back. ### 1/5 — DON’T BUY *2023-04-23* Signed up and paid the annual fee. Then realized that it was no good to get me into the tournament I was trying to play in. Went thru their process of cancellation (no refunds) so that I wouldn’t get charged again in a year. Buyer beware - lesson learned. Had to call AMEX and put a vendor block on this vendor so as not to get charged again. Terrible experience- read all reviews. I ordered too fast trying to get a handicap # for a last minute entry into a tournament - it has now cost me $60 to never use it. Wish I could rate a zero star. ### 1/5 — Run away do not walk. *2022-12-22, version 3.2.6* Similar to others I have attempted to cancel my subscription multiple times with zero response or effect. Moreover the system itself requires substantiation from a third party if not a club member. My next step if they do not respond is to alert our state AG to their scam. One star only because zero is not an option. ### 1/5 — DO NOT BUY *2022-10-06, version 3.2.6* As mentioned by several other people on here, your subscription may work for a year or two, but then it auto renews and you’ll suddenly be considered “free” member. When you try to upgrade through the app, it tells you no memberships available in your area. Tried to contact customer support but no response. Save your money and purchase any other handicap app on here ### 1/5 — Do NOT use this handicap tracker! *2022-07-21, version 3.2.6* I have issues even giving it one star… There is absolutely no customer service available at all! It is very difficult to find anything about how to cancel your membership. There is an email listed but after sending three emails to cancel my membership I never got a response indicating such. I had to cancel the credit card that was on file so I would not be charged. That is absolutely ridiculous! This is obviously a complete hoax and just a way for unsuspecting customers to be trapped in a membership they don’t want. Complete and total waste of money! ### 1/5 — Golfers Beware!! *2022-06-15, version 3.2.6* This app is a total scam and the customer service is nonexistent. I signed up last year and upon realizing this app does not provide a GHIN (which you must do through a club) I contacted support to cancel the same day. Fast forward 1 year, I get charged and have contacted support three times over the past 2 weeks with no response! There is no way for you to cancel membership on your own and when you send a support ticket in, you are not provided a ticket number or confirmation email to track the issue. Wish I could rate a zero star. ### 1/5 — Long Term Con *2022-05-25, version 3.2.6* I purchased this initially in March 2021 and everything worked fine, handicap was generated and able to be referenced by others. With this success, I allowed the app to renew in 2022. Suddenly upon my renewal the app claims that there is no longer a club in my area that would allow my handicap to be calculated. Despite reverting to the free version, the app still charged me for the full year. I have sent 3 different support requests to the company that have all been ignored. I am now out the cash charged by this app, as well as the fees to register in the GHIN as a result of this apps incompetence. THIS COMPANY IS JUST CASHING THE RENEWAL MONEY WITHOUT PROVIDING THE ADVERTISED SERVICE! Pay the extra for the GHIN to avoid this con ### 1/5 — Zero Customer Support *2022-05-04, version 3.2.6* I like many other people on this review board paid for the 3 year subscription ($30) as it seemed like a great deal. I had no problems the first 6 months using the app and then my handicap suddenly disappeared. I have reached out multiple times to their support center through the app and email with no response. It appears I’m out my $30 plus whatever I’ll have to pay to get a handicap with a reputable company. Disappointed is not a strong enough word to describe this app. ### 1/5 — Crooked *2022-04-25, version 3.2.6* Apple needs to dump them immediately . The first year was fine but then I had a auto renewed subscription apple took my money but I’m only allowed the free portion of their site . The same thing happened to the last person that reviewed this site . Do not use this app. I’ve sent them numerous emails and they have not responded . ## Most praised reviews (5 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — I Love this App *2019-06-04, version 3.0.7* This is a great way to save your rounds and statistics. The only thing I wish is that it established a GHIN number but I realize now that has to be done through a club. As far as keeping my rounds and seeing my trends, this has a whole lot of capability. The other good thing about it is it will link other apps you may have (if I enter on GolfNet for instance) and will grab that score and put it in your Handicap tracker on here. I’m very happy being assured that all my scores are safe, especially because I am trying to practice and get back to a competitive level, so this helps me majorly in that aspect also. As far as a free app to store your scores, it can’t imagine it would ever get any better. I may even upgrade my service to their pay option considering I am so pleased with what they offer for free! ### 3/5 — What’s wrong with app *2023-01-10, version 3.2.6* Used this ap for over 8 years no issues, yesterday the handicaps disappeared, can’t log on still have a valid subscription. Can’t find a support email to request help. If they don’t fix this, will go somewhere else. Otherwise been a great ap first issue with it. ### 2/5 — Needs an update! *2022-06-08, version 3.2.6* I like this app for my handicap, but like the review above, customer service seems to be non existent. I’m afraid that when I do cancel my membership, I will continue to be charged! It’s also in major need of an update. A lot of courses on here that don’t even exist anymore. ### 2/5 — Last year would have been 5 stars *2019-04-16, version 3.0.6* ...Easily. The new HBH interface is really much more difficult to use than it was last year. I appreciate some of the changes, but the actual entry of HBH stats is really frustrating especially if you’re doing it mid round. I know this is a golf app and everything, but you really made this worse by changing it. Update: home page much better, but the HBH entry remains much more cumbersome than the previous version (which was really great.) Half of the HBH entry page is consumed by categories (score, drive direction, putts, etc) which leaves only the right half of the screen to scroll through selections on a single line. So if you hit one right, you have to scroll through the options to see it, but you’ll likely end up clicking another option that the scrolling menu then snaps to which undoes all of your scrolling efforts. To even get to this HBH entry you must first click a small box on a digital scorecard, adding another step to the process. Honestly, is there anyway to revert back to the old version? I’m serious. I just paid to continue my service, but this app is just too frustrating to use much longer. I know they can fix the issues, because it was really a great layout before. ### 2/5 — Last Update Ruined a Great App *2019-03-25, version 3.0.5* This used to be a great app with a simple interface and intuitive navigation. Selecting your course is now clunky and you cannot easily get rid of the pre-populated course. You can no longer see what scores are being used in your handicap. Calculating a course handicap requires hunting through menus.
