## What is Uttr?

Some thoughts don't have a date.

"The car's making a grinding noise." "Sarah likes oat milk." "That thing I should ask the doctor about." They're not a meeting, so the calendar won't take them. They're not a task, so a to-do list makes them nag. Put them in Notes and you have to decide where they go — and then you have to remember to look.

So they stay in your head, and they leak.

Uttr is where you put a thought before you know what it is. Hold your Action Button, say it messy, in one breath, and put your phone away. It sorts what you said into the parts that belong somewhere — the dentist appointment into your calendar, the reminder into Reminders — and it keeps the rest as a memory, then hands it back to you later, on its own.

SAY IT MESSY
• One press from anywhere: Action Button, Lock Screen, Control Center, Siri, widget
• Say several things at once — "dentist Thursday at 3, remind me to call mom, and the car's making a noise" becomes three separate cards
• Fillers, false starts and "no wait, Wednesday" corrections are understood, not transcribed
• Stop talking and it files itself. Lock your phone mid-thought and it still finishes

IT COMES BACK
• Dateless thoughts return on their own, spaced further apart as they settle in
• Events land in Apple Calendar and tasks in Apple Reminders — your real apps, not another silo
• A calm morning brief tells you what today actually holds, and what's still open
• Nothing you say is ever deleted to make you upgrade

IT BECOMES YOURS
• Fix a card once — a spelling, a name, a category — and Uttr remembers forever
• See and erase everything it has learned, any time
• Speech is transcribed on your device. No account. No ads. No analytics. Nothing to sell.

FREE AND PREMIUM
Free is a whole app: unlimited capture, unlimited events and reminders, and your seven most recent memories keep coming back. Premium keeps every memory returning no matter how many you have, adds search across everything you've ever said, and mirrors your items into Todoist, Notion or Google Tasks.

Uttr isn't a notes app you have to manage. It's the place you throw a thought so you can stop carrying it.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 0.3.0 — 2026-08-14

Uttr is now built around the thought that doesn't have a date.

• Say it messy — one breath, several things at once, fillers and "no wait, Wednesday" corrections understood rather than transcribed
• Dateless thoughts come back on their own, spaced further apart as they settle
• Free is now a whole app: unlimited capture, unlimited calendar events and reminders, and your newest memories keep returning. The old monthly cap on smart parsing is gone.
• Onboarding is one screen instead of four — setup waits until after your first capture
• A calm morning brief now tells you what's still open, not just what's scheduled

Fixes: memories could quietly stop resurfacing without ever having been shown; the morning toggles now say what they actually do; opening the Memory Map no longer spends anything.

### 0.2.4 — 2026-08-11

This one is about hearing you properly.

Saying "um" no longer breaks up your thought
• A pause mid-sentence used to split one thought into pieces — you'd watch the cards fragment while you were still talking. Fixed, live as you speak and in what gets saved.
• "Call mom, um, at three" is one reminder now, at 3 o'clock. Times you say out loud — "at three", "at half past eight" — are finally understood; before, only digits counted.
• Lists survive a hesitation: "eggs, bread, um, milk" stays three items.

Trusting what it heard
• Uttr no longer marks a capture as "hard to hear" just because it added a comma. Well-heard captures file themselves instead of waiting for you.
• Pressing the capture button again mid-thought now finishes the capture instead of throwing away what you already said.
• A quick double-press before the mic wakes up keeps listening rather than saving silence.

A first run that shows you
• The opening screen now demonstrates a capture instead of describing one — watch a spoken thought become a card.
• Quiet, one-at-a-time hints during your first real capture, and no more setup screen you couldn't get past.

Also: your Google, Todoist, and Notion copies survive the app being closed and can be undone properly; events keep their time zone when you travel; and a paused connection tells you instead of failing quietly.

### 0.2.3 — 2026-08-09

This one fixes the things you'd only notice when they went wrong.

Hearing you, uninterrupted
• AirPods connecting mid-thought no longer silently stops the capture — Uttr keeps listening and keeps every word.
• Long captures stop repeating words at the one-minute mark.
• On iOS 26, the very first words you say are no longer lost to the engine warming up.
• Captures that sound finished file about two seconds sooner, hands-free.
• The mic always closes — no more open mic quietly draining battery in a noisy room.

Filing exactly what you said
• "Dentist at 3:30, remind me to call mom" is two clean cards — not a list titled "Dentist at 3".
• "$1,000" stays $1,000. "In 2 days at 5pm" keeps the 5pm. "Biweekly" means every two weeks.
• Events keep their local time when you travel.
• Google Tasks land on the right day in US time zones.

Undo you can trust
• Undo on a notification undoes that capture — not whatever you saved most recently.
• Cards held for a second look can now actually be filed from the edit screen.
• Retrying something that failed no longer gets mistaken for a duplicate.

Quieter fixes: your voice assistant hands audio back to your music when it finishes, long-lost memories survive file corruption via backup, and lifetime stats no longer shrink as old thoughts are archived.

### 0.2.2 — 2026-08-04

This one is about getting it right.

Hearing you better
• Say several things in one breath and they land as several cards — "Dentist tomorrow at 3. Call mom tonight." is now two, not one.
• Numbers stay where they belong: "buy 2 gallons of milk" keeps the 2.
• "in 20 minutes", "next week", "on the 15th" and "dentist March 15" are understood properly — March 15 no longer becomes March 1.
• "dinner at 8" means 8pm. "standup at 9" still means the morning.
• Echo cancellation, so Uttr can't hear its own voice — and captures now end cleanly in a noisy room instead of listening forever.

Never saving the wrong thing
• A stray "um", a half-heard word, or "scratch that" no longer files anything.
• Nothing reaches your Calendar or Reminders unseen unless it was clearly heard and actually has a time. Anything less waits on your Board for a look.
• Undo — on the saved screen and right on the notification, so a hands-free capture is always reversible.
• Say the same thing twice and it files once.

Memory Map
• Every star is named now, so you can read the map instead of guessing it.
• A one-line summary of what your memories are actually about.

### 0.2.1 — 2026-07-26

Setup that actually works without an Action Button, clearer reminders, and polish throughout.

• Phones without an Action Button get Back Tap and Lock Screen Capture Button on one screen
• Mark reminders done from the board with one tap
• “Set a reminder…” stays in Reminders (not Calendar)
• Faster setup deep-links into the right Settings panes
