## What is UV?

The UV-INDEKS app can be used everywhere in the world to provide you with a UV index forecast for your current position or for selected destinations that you add to your profile. You can also see how the expected cloud cover will affect the UV index. You can set the app to either daily updates or alerts when the UV index is 3 or more. The app also contains an interactive guide to help you identify your skin type and get specific advice about sun protection. The free UV-INDEKS app is a collaboration between The Danish Cancer Society, TrygFonden, The Danish Health Authority and The Danish Environmental Protection Agency.

Hab nach einer App gesucht die den UV-Index ortsgebunden anzeigt. 
Diese macht aber erfreulicherweise mehr: man kann seinen Hauttyp bestimmen und es wird die Zeit angegeben in der man einen Sonnenbrand riskiert. Zudem gibts es eine UV-Prognose über den Tag mit Vollsonne und prognostizierten Wolken. 
Ich bin begeistert.

the app knows nothing it’s literally 90 degrees without a cloud in the sky all day and this app is telling me the uv is 3. there’s no way because it’s literally 1 in the after noon

This app is easy to understand at a glance, the information is well presented, and supplemental information with sun safety advice is available in a tab. If you just want a basic, uncluttered UV forecast for today and the next four days, this is the app you want.

I have sun allergy so I have to be careful in the sun especially in summer, I have tried several UV apps but none is as good, accurate, user friendly and well designed like this one. I travel a lot for leisure and work and I check the UV index on a regular basis. The very last update also had a significant change in design and functionality and there I must really say: well done, the design is even nicer than before and I like that the app also shows UV index variance between sunny and overcast because the overcast UV index is always the trickiest :) 
Only one suggestion from my side to increase downloads: I would introduce an English version of it. I know the language so it does not harm but I can imagine especially settings of the favourites could be daunting if you don't know any Danish  at all.
