UV neko: UV Index Forecast

“Can I go outside right now?” Open a weather app, scroll to the bottom, hunt for the UV index among the other details. UV neko was built to remove that one extra step. Open it, and the UV index where you are appears at once — as a number, and as a cat's face. ■ A cat's face shows the strength The UV index is grouped into five levels (Low / Moderate / High / Very high / Extreme), each with a cat wearing a different expression. You don't have to read the number to get it. Prefer sun and moon instead of the cat? Switch any time in Settings. ■ What's coming, at a glance ・ Today and tomorrow on one chart. Scroll sideways and the two run on together ・ What time today peaks, and how high it gets ・ Around what time it starts coming down ・ At night, the morning view: “rises again around 7 AM tomorrow” Before you hang the laundry. Before the park with the kids. When you're deciding what time to reapply. ■ Save the places you check often Alongside your current location, you can save places and switch between them — where you work, where you are travelling, where your family lives. Tap the place name at the top and the list opens, each place with its current index. Places in other time zones are shown in their own local time. If you have not allowed location access, or your location cannot be found indoors, the app shows a saved place instead. One saved place on the free version, up to five with Pro. ■ Keep a sun care record (free) Tap "Going out" and your time outdoors starts adding up. Log the time you had a hat or a parasol on, and the times you applied sunscreen. The day's UV curve and your time outdoors sit one above the other, so you can see whether you were out during the strong hours. The last seven days stack up too. It counts what you did — nothing more. ■ Home Screen widget (UV neko Pro) The small size shows the current index and the peak time. The medium size adds the next six hours as a chart.
