## Frequently asked questions about V

### What is V-IE Enterprise used for?

V-IE Enterprise provides mobile access to your plant's real-time SCADA or DB dashboards. It allows operators to view live data, receive critical alarms, and interact with machine information directly from their phones or smartwatches.

### Can I view V-IE Enterprise dashboards on my Apple Watch?

Yes, you can watch live KPI tiles from your V-IE Enterprise dashboards as an Apple Watch complication. This allows for quick glances at important data without needing to unlock your phone.

### How does V-IE Enterprise handle critical alarms?

The app sends push notifications for critical and high alarms. These notifications feature severity-coded haptic patterns, so a critical alarm will feel distinctly different from a low-severity one.

### Does V-IE Enterprise support multiple languages?

Yes, V-IE Enterprise supports English, Spanish (Mexico), French, and Hindi. The app automatically adapts to your iPhone's Language & Region setting for alarms, dashboards, and other features.

### What are the security features of V-IE Enterprise?

Security is a priority, with features like geofence and SSID gating for tag writes, ensuring commands are only issued from within the plant's Wi-Fi and designated area. It also supports Face ID/Touch ID lock and uses HTTPS for all traffic to your V-IE server.

### How does the AR Machine Overlay feature work in V-IE Enterprise?

The AR Machine Overlay allows you to point your iPhone at a piece of equipment on the shop floor. Live process variables will then appear as floating information directly over the physical machine in your camera view.

### What are the system requirements for V-IE Enterprise?

V-IE Enterprise is a B2B client that requires a connection to a V-IE Enterprise server. This server is typically on the same LAN or accessible via a secure tunnel set up by your IT team. The app is designed to complement dashboards built with the desktop V-IE editor.

### How often is V-IE Enterprise updated?

The latest version is 1.51, released on May 24, 2026. Updates typically include new features, language support, and bug fixes to enhance the user experience and functionality.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.56 — 2026-08-31

Turn at any stop: tap Add View while walking to photograph the same
spot facing different directions. Viewers of the finished tour rotate
between your views with on-screen turn arrows and a compass — like
turning your head on the plant floor.

Pin dashboards while you walk: turn toward a machine, pin its
dashboard, and the marker lands on the photo of that machine. Viewers
tap it to open the live dashboard, then return to the walk.

Better capture feedback: an aiming reticle shows your framing, the
screen flashes like a camera shutter, and a thumbnail of each photo
confirms the waypoint saved.

Full iPad support for tools: Capture, Quick Actions, Tag Inspector,
and Alert Rules in the iPad sidebar.

Reliability: large uploads no longer time out on slow plant Wi-Fi,
photos always orient correctly, and closing a capture in progress
asks before discarding your walk.

### 1.54 — 2026-08-30

iPad: Tag Inspector, Alert Rules, Quick Actions and Floor Walkthrough Capture are now available directly from the sidebar. Previously these were reachable only on iPhone.

### 1.52 — 2026-08-29

NEW — Floor Walkthrough Capture: walk your plant floor and record a photo tour. Drop a waypoint wherever a viewer should stand, tag the machines at each stop, and watch your walking path sketch itself as you go. One upload turns it into a navigable floor tour on your V-IE server — viewable on any screen in the plant, with tap-through to each machine's live screens. On iPhone Pro and iPad Pro, LiDAR makes tracking even steadier.

Also in this release:
• Richer notifications — predictive maintenance warnings, machine alarms, and maintenance ticket updates can now reach your phone the moment they happen (enabled by your server administrator)
• Faster, more reliable dashboard loading
• Assorted fixes and polish throughout

### 1.51 — 2026-05-24

1.51 brings multi-language support to V-IE Enterprise — the biggest
quality-of-life update since 1.0.

YOUR APP, IN YOUR LANGUAGE

The entire operator-facing interface is now translated into four
languages: English, Spanish (Mexico), French, and Hindi. The app
follows your iPhone's Language & Region setting automatically — no
in-app picker, no extra steps. Set the device language and the app
follows. Bilingual plants can have one operator on Spanish and the
next one on English on the same shift, on the same dashboards.

What got localized in this release:

• Login + welcome flow
• Dashboards list and viewer chrome
• Alarms list, severities, acknowledgment actions
• Settings page (every section)
• Bug Report submit flow
• AR Machine Overlay
• QR Scanner overlay text
• Voice memo recorder
• Shift Notes
• Tag Inspector
• Glasses Companion screen (for V-IE companion app)
• Push notification subject lines (per-recipient locale on the server side)

Customer plant admins can override any string at any time — the
desktop V-IE editor includes a Translation Override Editor where the
admin can substitute the V-IE default with their plant's preferred
terminology (or correct a translation we got wrong).

UNDER THE HOOD

• SwiftUI String Catalog (Localizable.xcstrings) under the hood — fast,
cache-friendly, and easy to extend with additional languages on
  future releases
• Russian, German, Brazilian Portuguese, and Mandarin are on the
roadmap — let your customer success rep know if any of these would
  unlock a deployment for you

EVERYTHING FROM 1.5 STILL APPLIES

For users coming from 1.4.1, this release also carries forward all
the 1.5 improvements:

• Apple Watch + home screen Widget paired
• Face ID / Touch ID lock on launch
• Severity-coded haptic patterns for critical / high / medium / low
• Offline cache for dashboards
• On-device voice memo transcription in bug reports
• Live Activities for active alarms on the Lock Screen
• Spotlight search opens dashboards
• Native renderer beta for high-fidelity SwiftUI widgets
• Geofence + SSID gating for tag writes (security)
• iPad-optimized layout
• Audit trail of every write and acknowledgment

V-IE Enterprise is a product of The Aquila Group, Inc.

### 1.4 — 2026-05-21

V-IE 1.4 makes the shop floor faster

Print a QR code, stick it on a machine — point your phone, the right
dashboard opens. Walk into a plant, the app silently switches to that
site's server. A critical alarm pins itself to your lock screen so the
value updates live without you needing to open the app.

This release is built around how operators actually move during a shift.

NEW THIS VERSION

• Apple Watch app — active alarms on your wrist, swipe to acknowledge
• Lock-screen live alarms — critical alerts update in real time on the
  lock screen and Dynamic Island
• Augmented Reality mode — point your camera at any plant machine to see
its live tag values floating right over the equipment
• Face ID unlock so you stop typing passwords with gloves on
• Scan a QR sticker to open a machine's dashboard in one tap
• Voice memos on bug reports — speak the issue instead of typing,
  transcribed for you on-device
• Acknowledge an alarm with a photo of what you saw — attached to the
  audit trail
• Shift handoff notes by machine so the next crew knows what to watch
• 24-hour trend chart on long-press of any tag value
• Home-screen widgets for KPIs and active alarm count
• Auto-switch between plant sites by Wi-Fi network or location
• iPad split-view layout for plant control rooms
• Siri: "Hey Siri, V-IE alarms" works hands-free
• Spotlight search — find any dashboard from the iPhone home screen
• Offline cache keeps last-known values visible when Wi-Fi drops
• Quick Actions — write tag values from the phone with Face ID
  confirmation and full audit logging

IMPROVED

• Severity-coded haptics so you feel the difference between a critical
and an info-level alert through your pocket
• Background refresh keeps the alarm badge current without you opening
  the app
• Universal binary — same install supports iPhone, iPad, and Apple
  Watch
• Activity log surfaces every write, acknowledgment, and note from
  your account in one place

PRIVACY

• Voice memos transcribed on-device — audio never leaves your phone
unless you attach it to a report
• Location used only for auto-switching plant servers, never stored or
  transmitted off-device
• Face ID stored in the Secure Enclave — the app reads permission to
unlock, never sees your biometric data

Built for operators, maintenance engineers, and plant managers who want
their day on the floor, not at a desk.
