### 4/5 — Just one thing

*2022-12-23*

I love the game EXCEPT that your animals don’t move in the right direction even when there is an obvious path to the threat. It’s enough to not play the game because it’s almost always the reason I lose.

### 2/5 — great game, pity about the bugs and zero customer support

*2021-08-28, version 1.3.4*

i would give this game 5 stars if they would only squash the bugs. i have emailed them 4 times over the past 6 weeks highlighting several frustrating bugs i have encountered, with no response. i don’t mind waiting for bug fixes but i do expect the common courtesy of a reply.

### 3/5 — I like it but

*2021-07-09, version 1.3.4*

I want to keep playing but I think there’s some sort of graphics bug or something.. there are dangerous obstacles that appear without texture, just a blinking, then it explodes and destroys 3+ tiles 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

### 3/5 — Not fun.

*2021-03-16, version 1.3.4*

No idea why people like this. All you do is plant trees. More and more trees. That’s it. Same thing game after game. O wait. I forgot. You get to COMBINE the trees. I what glee. Even as a free game I would not recommend. Sorry for the sarcasm but really do not buy.

### 3/5 — Repetitive

*2021-02-28*

Pros: Beautiful art, sound, and feel.
Cons: There’s not really any sense of progress. You start by growing trees and merging them into forests and houses while managing water and disasters. Hours later, you’ll still be doing the exact same thing. There are no secrets to discover or escalating challenges.
So it’s an endless game that’s great for mindless relaxation, but that’s not enough to keep me playing.

### 2/5 — Lovely but dull

*2020-08-20, version 1.3.4*

The art style is delightful, the music is charming, but endless score attack gameplay meshes very poorly with puzzle game mechanics- the joy of a puzzle is in solving it, and this game never provides that. As a result, it feels hollow and unsatisfying.

### 2/5 — Skip it

*2020-03-12, version 1.3.4*

Barely a game at all and dreadfully uncompelling. The art is nice though

### 2/5 — Beautiful but dull

*2019-10-17, version 1.3.2*

The same limited set of mechanics throughout, so it gets old quickly.

It’s hard to be 100% sure but I think the game randomly kills you after 2,000 years or so. I get to 2,000 years without really thinking every time I play now, and then I’ll hit situations where 5 or more fires spring up at different ends of the map. I’m fairly sure it’s impossible to put out all the fires.

The game tells you at one point that fire can appear “anywhere”. Is fire’s location random? Or can the player do something to pre-empt it?

If it’s not possible to pre-empt then the game seems kind of dumb- “play for a while then randomly die” isn’t all that satisfying.

It is very pretty though.

### 3/5 — Pretty, relaxing game, but...

*2019-08-30*

Why on earth is it in portrait-mode only?? I have to turn my iPad Pro with attached keyboard sideways to play it—ridiculous! A game with such lovely graphics and intricate detail demands landscape mode—please fix that then it’s definitely 5 stars. Another reviewer mentioned sandbox mode/free play—what an excellent concept (in landscape mode). Again, the artwork is beautiful!

### 2/5 — Way too simple, gets boring quickly

*2019-07-23*

I’ve been gaming since Asteroids and I know good game design when I experience it. The developers have a nice aesthetic but little else. The interactions and possibilities are very limited, and success on any level is unrewarding. This is basically a 15 minute brainstorm session brought to life with a few weeks of development. It has potential but they stopped way short of a good game with lasting enjoyment.

### 3/5 — Ordinary

*2019-07-20, version 1.3.2*

The first time you play it, it makes you feel clam and wonderful. Over time you want to unlock all the animals in game. Soon you realize the scene never change. It’s always the same color and the same tone. You gets bored, you feel there were nothing more to explore.

### 2/5 — Meh

*2019-06-08, version 1.3.2*

Good graphics but the game it self is a bit boring and not worth getting.

### 2/5 — Ok but repetitive...

*2019-02-14, version 1.3.1*

It’s a decent game, nice graphics, good UI with the expected element of grind included. I’ve played enough to get to level 3 and that’s about all I needed to consider my curiosity sated. Quickly got very repetitive even with the option to unlock new and varied animals to entice you to play one. A tad pricey for a game that didn’t hold my attention for very long.

### 2/5 — Extremely boring

*2019-02-13, version 1.3.1*

It’s nothing like a world building game. It’s like a strategy if anything but very simple.

### 3/5 — WHAT!!!

*2019-01-13*

I like it but this is impossible to do my animals never go to we’re I want and a fire happens every 7 seconds and same with the things that break parts then I have to start again so here is what might help you can have all the animals you got on then make it so you tap water near it then it’s gone and with the thing that break make them not so hard please then I’ll rate five star.

### 5/5 — Stunning

*2019-01-13*

I love the graphics, they are absolutely beautiful! And I like how the finger swiping is so smooth. I have one suggestion though: it would be fun to create your own worlds in a sandbox mode and play them. That would be really cool. Adding people would be fun and grow crops and things.

I encountered a bug that almost no people would find but I would count it as a bug. So when my lives go to zero I can still make trees and things while it is going to the home screen. If there is an obelisk that pops when my lives hit 0, it makes the lives -1. Again, this is something nobody would find, but it’s better fixing.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Boring

*2023-01-08, version 1.3.4*

This game is boring. Apple’s refund policy is significantly worse than Steam’s so if you buy this to try it out, you’ll only waste your money.

### 1/5 — Baffling

*2020-03-16, version 1.3.4*

That feeling when you buy a game and immediately regret it. I have no idea what the point is supposed to be. It’s the same basic action over and over again. If gameplay changes I don’t feel any incentive to find out.

### 1/5 — Not what is advertised.

*2019-07-26, version 1.3.2*

This game looks like and was advertised as kind of a zen version of The Sims. In reality it’s Command and Conquer, but in the woods.

### 1/5 — Extremely frustrating

*2019-06-22, version 1.3.2*

The animals go the wrong way when there’s a disaster. Causing me to lose a heart and it repeats forever!

### 1/5 — Extremely bad game ☹️ 😡

*2018-10-26, version 1.2.1*

It is so hard because of these exploding ruins !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

### 1/5 — Does not live up to hype

*2018-10-18, version 1.2.0*

Doesn’t fulfill as a puzzle game and too boring to be an action game. Manages to pull off that fine balance between being dull and annoying. Not worth the money.

### 1/5 — Four “Random” 1 Move Penalties in a Row

*2018-10-15*

I love the style and artwork of this game, but it needs a little tweaking. The game pops up obelisks and factories (yet to see a factory... yet it’s an in-game requirement to repair one in order to progress to the next level) with a random number of moves before they explode and take a heart. The number of moves ranges from 1 - 9. My biggest frustration with this game is how often it gives you MULTIPLE “random” 1-move-to-repair obstacles in a row that are simply impossible to reach. No matter how well you strategize, the game will eventually rob you of going further by picking your hearts off all in a couple moves.

### 1/5 — Played the tutorial 3 times; still unclear

*2018-09-09, version 1.1.2*

You seem to have very little direct control over what is happening and what matches where is very unclear or how the water and animals falls under your influence.

Very confusing. Very dull.

I really try to support pay once and play developers but from now on I’m going to wait for reviews to appear.

A better tutorial would help I suspect. Maybe I’m missing something.

### 1/5 — Want my money back!

*2018-09-09, version 1.1.2*

Rubbish game. Paid for game. Played it for 5 minutes hated it, now I’ve uninstalled I’d like my money back!

### 1/5 — waste of money

*2018-09-06, version 1.1.2*

it has a beautiful design but a pointless game dont waste your money!

### 5/5 — Valleys between

*2023-04-24, version 1.3.4*

Valleys between is really fun! I love the nature in it it’s really beautiful. Whenever I play this game I like to complete all the different goals. I always get sad when the game ends because I don’t want to restart again 😂

### 5/5 — Dissolve Anger

*2021-04-01, version 1.3.4*

For those who recognize the connection between nature and releasing negative energies. Beautiful game design. 10/10

### 5/5 — Artfully crafted

*2020-09-03*

This game lives up to the reviews, pleasantly play through the Forrest stopping hazards and making beauty. A great representation of the harm factories can do and the growth water gives. Would love to see sequel with different environments, such as desert, beachside, mountainous, tropics, or arctic

### 5/5 — Beautiful and relaxing game!

*2020-06-22, version 1.3.4*

Beautiful graphics and music. Worthwhile game top to bottom!

### 5/5 — Even better after update

*2020-06-02*

This excellent game is even more enjoyable after the recent update, it all looks gorgeous and the AI animals function more effectively too. It’s a peaceful challenge, not frustrating. The art is really cool. And the price is so fair too with no crazy IAPs or ads. Thank you for a great game!

### 5/5 — SO ADDICTIVE

*2020-03-10, version 1.3.4*

Such an amazing game! So so hard to put down! Really easy to pick up the rules, so calming!

### 5/5 — Fun and Tranquil

*2019-12-24, version 1.3.2*

Experience.....................tranquility!

### 5/5 — MUST GET!

*2019-09-15*

This app is so amazing. It is relaxing and fun. It is focuses on strategy, while relaxing you too. It is like being able to have your own world and gives you control over what you do. Must get!

### 5/5 — Beautiful

*2019-08-23, version 1.3.2*

Valleys between is a beautiful game. The graphics are stunning, calming music in the background, and a heartwarming feel to it. It teaches you about nature and the bad things humans are causing like oil and factories. There are challenges to complete, and when you finish three you level up. The tutorial goes through every detail of the game perfectly. Collecting all the animals and levelling them up is fun. The obelisks and dangers like fires, factories etc. Give it just the right level of excitement. Not hair raising, just exciting, enough to keep you interested. In all, Valleys between is a beautiful, heartwarming game that, for the price of a coffee, I would definitely recommend buying.
