Finally got it to work and it was just a short video that said the same thing in the envelope. The 3D scan didn’t do anything. The instructions for that is unclear. Same issues exist one year later. When envelope was scanned as instructed, little dots of light come up then shaky 3D image of #alonetogether hashtag pops up along with a tiny bit of covid info that we have already gotten, presented better through thousands of television commercials. I tried to see coupons. Absolutely nothing. Waste of time and phone memory space. I get it when developers are working and trying to improve on an app. I’m pretty patient. But when the same issues exist a year later, it tells me that someone is just harvesting info for sale. Deleting now. ### 1/5 — Do not download. That you point your camera at the envelope and it never tells you anything except a stupid video. That the app does absolutely nothing else. It’s still true. Terrible. ### 1/5 — Scam????? *2021-05-21* I use coupons from the Valpak. When I saw I could win $100, I started looking on how to win it. Like the other review said, there isn’t anything to scan. Just a bunch a pretty circles popping up. Cannot find out what to scan to win. Bursted my bubble of going out for a prime rib dinner with my honey. ### 1/5 — Glitchy & Doesn’t tell you if you won or not *2021-05-04* There’s no medication of where exactly to scan so you just get little dots as you point it at the words. Once you finally find the “sweet spot” it sparkles blue lights and then gives you a glitchy video and a “3D” (that’s being generous) image of a flier advertising ValPack. What a joke. ### 1/5 — STILL NOT FIXED ~ DON’T BOTHER *2021-05-04, version 1.0.4* I had hoped they would fix it but they didn’t so I’m deleting as soon as I’m done writing this. ### 1/5 — Just An Advertising Ploy *2021-04-30* I don’t get what the point of this even is. Once it triggers, it only plays an advertisement video on loop of you doing EXACTLY THIS, and lets you hear from their “winners”... *UPDATE* After reading other reviews, you do NOT need this app! It has an asterisk (*) next to the notice on the inside stating the $100 thing, and if you look for it on the back of the envelope it states, “NO PURCHASE NECESSARY...$100 checks are randomly inserted. 1 in 50,000 envelopes has a check inside...” The app in no way makes it tell if you won or lost, it’s JUST an advertisement to hear testimonials. Delete it and save yourself some space. If you actually won, THE PHYSICAL CHECK IS IN THE ENVELOPE. So open up the ValPak each time they clog your mail box, and if it isn’t there, proceed to do what it use they do best; fire-starter kindling. ### 1/5 — Worthless Waste Of Time *2021-04-29* Don’t bother. Doesn’t work. Ask anyone who’s tried using this app. Not one person has gotten this app to work. Perhaps the only reason it exists is to mine your data and location. ## Most praised reviews (3 highest-rated) ### 4/5 — Meh *2021-03-16* I mean, it doesn’t do anything other than what it says to do. It does AR for coupons and the envelope. To be clear, to scan you envelope, you have to scan the inside. After scanning it does not tell you if you’re a winner, because that’s not what it’s for. It’s just to show you a video with recordings from other winners. The envelope is misleading in this way. If you won, you’re envelope legitimately just has a check in it. ### 3/5 — Works as advertised *2021-05-18* The envelope has a “yes it’s real” box inside that if you scan it the app plays a little blurb about the $100 check that COULD be inside. Another feature of the app requires you to accept location services so that the app can tell you where there are deals local to you at that moment. If you see a company that you may use, you tap on that companies box and it displays what the deal is. ### 2/5 — Works, but basically pointless *2019-04-11* I had no problem “scanning” the envelope. It starts a short video using augmented reality, so the video moves all over if you don’t hold your phone steady. You can easily be a winner without using the app; the video says 1 in 50,000 envelopes is randomly stuffed with a $100 check.
