## What is Vampire?

The secret world behind the lights of the Big Apple is opening its doors to you once again. Your life changed for the worse on the eve of your Embrace and you are now a Kindred, a vampire, part of the Lasombra clan and thrown in the mist of the eternal political struggles of the Camarilla. **Vampire: The Masquerade – Shadows of New York** is a visual novel set in the rich universe of Vampire: The Masquerade, and is the continuation of the story started in **Coteries of New York.** You don’t need to have played **Coteries** to appreciate and understand the story behind **Shadows of New York.** While Coteries was a general introduction to the world depicted in the 5th Edition of the hit tabletop role-playing game, Shadows presents a more personal and unique tale.

Ayant fini l’ancien (coteries) je trouvais l’unique fin nul à chier. En jouant à celui ci, je constate que les liberté des choix sont factices (que 2 fins d’après ce que j’ai lu), l’une se terminant « bien » et l’autre « mal »…🤔 (notez les guillemets)… Personnellement j’ai décroché au moment du dialogue « vaccin ». Je me comprend. J’aime l’univers des vampires, mais ces 2 jeux (coteries comme shadows) sont une honte et de la propagande. Quand à la liberté de choix, complètement faux, tout nous remet sur les « rails » tel un mouton. Si je pouvais mettre 0 étoile je le ferai

j’aime bien le jeu, la musique est très bien, et les textes. Ça serait fantastique si c’était possible de ne pas à devoir cliquer toujours au même endroit pour faire avancer les dialogues. Par exemple toucher n’importe à quel endroit le côté droit de l’écran pourrait être satisfaisant, beaucoup plus que de devoir cliquer toujours au même endroit en bas à droite.

I loved this game. It is the third time I buy it in a different format. It is one of the best vampire stories there is. I simply love Julia. And the story is entirely about her potential to uncover a misters and do as she must with the masquerade’s biggest mysteries…Not by overpowering, or outsourcing any creature alive, but finding her own way. Brilliant vampire whodunit, and perfect main character. Best visual novel I ever read, and one I will remember forever I recommend it extremely, and honestly, even so, it couldn’t be enough.

Unlike Parliament of Knives and CoNY, this book (and yes I mean book, not game) is tons of tedious monologue/dialogue punctuated by very occasional meaningless decisions. PoK, despite not having the graphics of this book/game, it was extremely replayable because your decisions could lead to wildly different endings. You also had a choice of clan and gender.

In this game, you are a female Lasombra, period, no choices. And CoNY ultimately had the same ending no matter what you did, and I have a feeling this one is the same. Inferior to CoNY and dramatically inferior to Parliament of Knives. Regret this purchase.

Плюсы: интересные персонажи, хорошая работа с лором, замечательное аудиосопровождение. Багов замечено не было. завлекает. Локализация хорошая

Минусы: много унылой повестки, грустная альтушка без скуфа в главной роли, поганая пятая редакция со своими кринжами.

Игра проходится на одном дыхании часов за 5-6. Это скорее интерактивная книга, чем игра. Могу рекомендовать к покупке, если вы:

- хотите поводить vtm и ищете хорошего креатива
- мистер пассив, мисс буча или какой нибудь похожий небинарный пельмень
- любите читать всякую чушь без разбора
