## What is VÁNA?

How much of the year has truly passed? Not what the calendar says - how much you've actually felt.

VÁNA displays your year's progress through an elegant ring that shifts color with the seasons. But its true soul is Slow Perception: mathematical curves inspired by real research in psychology and neuroscience that transform linear progress into something that mirrors how your brain perceives time - slow at the start, fast at the end.

• Logarithmic - inspired by the Weber-Fechner law (1860)
• Slow - inspired by Janet and Lemlich's proportional theory
• Very Slow - for those who want to savor every week

SEASONAL COLORS
The ring changes color following the seasons, inspired by the Elvish calendar of Imladris — from icy blue in winter to spring green, from summer gold to autumn rust.

VÁNA is named after the Valië of Spring in Tolkien's Silmarillion - "the Ever-young", in whose gardens time is forever young.

A small polish for those who walk gently.
- All on-screen percentages now respect language: 48.92% in English, 48,92% in Italian. Not just VoiceOver, also the number you see
- Reduce Motion extended to all animations: the progress bar and the Tip Jar thank-you message now respect your setting
- Smoother VoiceOver on "The Science" and "The Name" pages: each card reads as a single element instead of three separate stops

- The "Rate on App Store" button now always opens the review page, even if you've already seen the native prompt in the past

- When you open the app, the ring and percentage gently grow from zero to the current value
- The "Year Progress" widget is now resizable: add it and drag the corner to switch between small, medium, and large
- New "The Name" section in settings: discover VÁNA's Tolkien origin and the hidden elvish names of the curves
- Many visual refinements to feel more at home on iOS 26
- Small fixes and accessibility improvements

Details that matter.
- The opening animation is longer and smoother: no more micro-glitch of the ring restarting
- The percentage now animates too when you toggle Slow Perception, not just the ring
- Privacy Policy and Terms of Service have a more readable style, consistent with the "The Science" section
- Small visual refinements

- The percentage refreshes immediately every time you open the app
- No more stale values after switching back to the app

Feel the time:
- Gentle vibration when toggling Slow Perception on or off
- Vibration when crossing a milestone (25%, 50%, 75%, 90%)

Richer widgets, more precise percentage:
- The large widget now also shows current month and week progress
- The medium widget shows "Day X of Y" for better context
- Percentage precise to the hundredth (two decimal places) in all widgets
