Same with the sign up button. I would press it and nothing would happen. You guys are a great magic store and I’ve bought from you many times, but can you please make your app work? ### 2/5 — Needs variable speed playback *2025-06-05, version 6.10* It’s a great app in theory, but without variable speed playback, I will almost never use it. VI’s website has great variable speed playback. ### 2/5 — PDFs cause crashes & Sparse library *2024-01-02, version 6.10* I used to provide a 4 star rating, now it’s 2. While I love VI and their customer service is top notch, the app isn’t it. Back in 2021, I asked a question via a Q&A session when the app would be updated. They said by the end of the year. Aside from an internal UI adjustment in the home screen, no physical app adjustments have been posted to the App Store. The most recent problem I’ve faced is, aside from small-sized PDFs still not working, is most recent purchases haven’t been showing up in my library. On top of that, after deleting/reinstalling the app countless times, only about 1/3 of my library is there. Yes, I can use my browser, but what’s the point of using the app when you get to that level? Andi, Josh, or whoever is reading this, again, I love your company (and app… when it works!), but please, on behalf of magicians everywhere, update your app! ### 3/5 — Great app but buggy *2023-08-13, version 6.10* As others have noted, some downloads (such as PDFs) crash the app. Also, if I have downloads in progress when the app crashes, they’ll resume when I relaunch but all of the file names disappear from the Download Queue page. (I have a row of progress bars with no file names). I like being able to purchase directly from the app, although a search feature or at least some kind of sort would be nice. Downloaded videos are great, but pdfs still crash. Fix that and it’s a five star app! ### 4/5 — PDFs cause crashes! *2019-08-24, version 6.10* I’ve noticed for the past few months (even before the most recent update) that anytime I’d try to open certain PDFs (they’re usually one or two page documents such as templates or tables of contents), the app crashes. I’ve done everything from restarting the app, my phone, deleting/reinstalling both the PDFs and the app... everything! Sadly, this problem still persists. The weirdest part of it all is that these PDFs work just fine the first time I download & open them and whenever I view them on Safari (the latter of which defeats the purpose of the app). It goes without saying that I, like many other magicians, use this app primarily whenever I’m traveling and don’t have access to a computer. More the app is buggy and constantly crashes. Only 1 of about 20 videos I’ve tried to download or stream works, the others cause the app to crash. They did updates to fix glitches etc and content was refreshed regularly. Every week would see a different product or download showcased and each category has lots of instant downloads that could also be streamed via the app itself. Sadly this is no longer the case and the app has been neglected for quite some time. I’m unsure why as their website is still up and running and has regular updates to content, promo offers etc. The Session is also still being held. Having spent a fair amount via the app on different tricks etc, I now feel a bit cheated. ### 1/5 — Will not launch *2020-07-03, version 6.10* App won't launch. When I click on the various links, the pages come up blank. The only available for purchase are e-books (4) and lectures. I have also deleted and reinstalled the app, and same issue. It works very well and I use it all the time. It makes watching the downloads easier and saves me from having to save them on my computer and then put them back onto the phone. It's also useful that you can watch the videos streaming. If I had one suggestion for improvement I'd like to see a 10 second forward or backward option as this is useful for when you're trying to learn. ### 5/5 — Great app from the best company in Magic *2016-05-28* App does everything you need and it's super convenient to be able to watch your downloads and read books right from it. If you haven't made the complete switch from other magic company's to VI, then this app will make sure you buy all downloads from them, it really is that convenient and easy to use. (If I sound biased it's cause I am ;) Vanishing Inc has treated me extremely well, respectfully, and been more than generous which is something you don't see often anymore in company's, they have forever earned my repeat business, respect and word of mouth advertising.) I'm amazed that the previous reviewer was committed enough...to survey every other user, thus enabling him to make such a definitive statement for the rest of us illiterate dimwits. Some of the the best downloads, books, magicians and tricks right at your fingertips. ### 5/5 — Awesome app for any magician on the go *2013-02-03, version 3.01* I love having up to date ebooks and magic vids with me while I sit in the waiting room at the Dr office for hours sometimes ( substitute subway, train, study hall, or wherever you have spare time). The only problem to me is waiting for Apple to let them make some videos available on iPad but the solution is to download the VLC app to iTunes and iPad then buy the video via the website and download to your computer. Then while syncing your iPad or iPhone go to apps, scroll down to bottom and click on VLC player, then drag and drop the video. You will just have to watch it from there instead of the app until they get the proper approval from Apple.
