### 2/5 — Won’t keep me signed in

*2026-06-16*

Try to read an article. Tells me to subscribe or sign in. Go to Sign In, tells me I’m already signed in. Go back to article, tells me to sign in. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

### 2/5 — Not a good app

*2025-08-06*

I think the set up for the VF app is really odd. The Atlantic and the New Yorker apps are much more user-friendly. Their apps have suggested articles, and searches that actually work! It’s easy to scroll through the articles and find something that appeals to me. I’m deleting the VF app.

### 2/5 — Great Content Pathetic App

*2025-05-02*

I have always enjoyed reading Vanity Fair and will continue to do so as long as they do not bend a knee. This app, however, is one of the worst I have ever seen. There is no excuse in the day and age to publish something so subpar. Make the investment to provide a better app for your readers VF.

### 2/5 — Terrible app, unreadable even on iPad

*2025-04-22, version 6.3*

In a nutshell, the app presents beautiful looking screens nicely laid out (even if you only see half of an image), but it’s actually terrible if you actually want to read the articles.

Really emblematic of our current age and technology.

The content of course is great but it’s let down by a terrible app. One simple, but fundamental, flaw - the font. The font, which cannot be adjusted, is a minute serif font that is totally unreadable on iPad. And there is no way to adjust it. Yes, you can pinch zoom (built in iPad feature) but then it’s complicated to scroll through the text.

Navigation generally is a bit of a pain to scroll pages with large photos - it’s hit and miss as to whether dragging the photo to scroll works.

Some photos are split over two screens, ie you only see one half at a time.

There is a nice ribbon with thumbnails of every page that you can click on.

But there is no table of contents with hot links.

Clearly not designed with reading in mind ; just flipping pages.

### 2/5 — App is tricky

*2025-02-21*

The app is opposite of intuitive. The articles and content are great. But even just writing this review was annoying to navigate

### 2/5 — Terrible app for a great magazine

*2025-02-06, version 6.3*

The app is appalling.

The biggest issue is the flea sized font and no apparent way to increase it. So I’ve basically stopped reading it on my iPad.

Navigation is erratic , to get back to table of contents etc from an article requires multiple random stabs at the top of the screen. There should be navigation icons visible at all times.

Large photo headers of articles are also counter intuitive to navigate around.

End result my reading of VF is about a tenth of what it was. Shame.

### 4/5 — Subscription

*2025-01-23, version 6.3*

I have bought a subscription yet am forever prompted to restore purchases and won’t let me access my account

### 1/5 — New format

*2024-10-20*

I need to cancel my 30 year association

### 2/5 — What happened?

*2024-09-28*

VF used to be great to read electronically. Then they made a too-fancy app that took too many swipes and got stuck all the times it tried to integrate video or show scaled images…so it’s been simplified to the point it’s nothing. Might as well be a PDF. If an article ends on page 50 and continues on 108 there isn’t even a link. You have to “flip” the virtual pages. It’s just not up to par for a title like Vanity Fair. You have a budget. It’s 2024. The electronic version should work.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2024-08-30*

I downloaded the app to be able to file and read archival articles in one place. Not only can the app not find them, but when you find them by Googling, you cannot then open them and save them on the app, which appears to be nothing more than a digital newsstand for a single title. So much regret about this subscription.

### 1/5 — New version

*2024-08-27, version 6.2*

Seems there is a new version of this app. The previous version was great, easy to navigate, it felt designed for the phone / iPad. Now it’s like the entire magazine was just scanned, you have to scroll through the entire magazine, page for page. Basically unreadable on the phone, to the point I’m going to cancel my subscription.

### 1/5 — Subscribed but can’t open anything

*2024-07-31, version 6.2*

This VF is a scam. I purchased subscription but have never been able to open a magazine. I even have the receipt. This is a total scam. Don’t fall for it. Going back to paper mags!!!

### 1/5 — Digital Access = access to nothing

*2024-07-21, version 6.2*

Purchased digital access and the app has nothing but a way to buy digital magazines. Nothing more. When I try to link subscriptions, I’m in an infinite loop of non-response.

### 1/5 — App is a Failure!

*2024-07-18, version 6.2*

This app is an absolute Failure!
The app response practically is non-existent as it takes much too long open. The platforms did not share information; between desk top and app.
Nothing about it is fun or easy.
In this digital age and especially as “ print media” is struggling to survive, this inoperable platform is inexcusable.
If I could give a negative rating, I would.

### 1/5 — My worst nightmare of an app

*2024-05-06, version 6.2*

This app is embarrassing in how terrible it functions. It is one of the worst apps I have ever used. It requires you to log in every time you use it (even on the same device) and NEVER remembers your password. The website is strangely just as bad in these areas. Otherwise the content is great once you can get to it. It’s just such a mess to get there.

### 1/5 — does not work

*2024-05-02, version 6.2*

cannot link account and cannot access digital subscription

### 2/5 — Subscription

*2024-03-15, version 6.2*

Also purchased VF and have received a tote bag. Cannot access what the subscription promised to provide. Didn't ask for a tote bag. I signed up for VF's news. All I get is a somewhat dated overview once a week.
Signed up for an online newsletter and only get an email directing me to a poorly functioning weekly newsletter. Was expecting an app. Not this.
They seem to have sold me a weekly email rather than providing an appropriate app for news.
Will probably cancel at my earliest opportunity as I have no use for an app to purchase a fashion mag.
I signed up for VF's world acclaimed news service and expected more from a monthly subscription that I might wind up paying for until next year.

Customers don't want their money back, they want their purchase to work properly.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Impossible to search for back issues.

*2026-02-25*

Have had nothing but trouble with this app and the site.

### 1/5 — Impossible to read online

*2025-12-18*

Love the mag but dang is it hard to read online!

### 1/5 — Unreadable.

*2025-11-02, version 6.4*

The font is minuscule and although settings includes a font size slider, the slider does not work. This is especially annoying as the web site is also terrible. While it has larger font it is incredibly slow to load and the navigation is a nightmare.

### 1/5 — Vanity Fair app

*2025-06-12*

Does not work

### 1/5 — App doesn’t work

*2025-03-25*

Simply put, I bought a digital subscription, worked initially (for a few pages) then I couldn’t get get back into it later. Kept asking for print subscription log-in and password which I obviously don’t have. Useless

### 1/5 — Refuses to let me in

*2025-02-27*

Despite every "restore purchse" or sign in , it does NOT restorr purchasr. A big headache &. Now to try ad get my money back from Apple, which is next to impossible these days.

### 1/5 — Love content, hate UX

*2025-02-16*

I love vanity fair articles and podcasts, but the app needs to go back to a point where I can click into an article rather than swipe through an entire magazine where I need to zoom in to read the content.

### 1/5 — The new Vanity Fair App

*2024-12-12*

The new app makes it well nigh impossible to navigate on a cellphone or IPad! I think I need to cancel my subscription as it is so difficult now to choose and read an article. Very disappointed!!

### 1/5 — I used to live this App, now it’s horrible

*2024-11-23, version 6.3*

What happened to the table of contents and links to stories? Now the only option is to thumb through every page of the magazine, a complete waste of time. The person responsible for this ‘upgrade’ should be fired.

### 1/5 — Disappointing format

*2024-11-14*

If I wanted to flip through 100+ pages, I’d subscribe to the paper edition. I’ve enjoyed the advantages of the electronic version for years, but am not happy with the new format. I agree with the previous reviewer: this may as well be a pdf.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Vanity Fair

*2026-01-21*

Amazing! Just terrific!

### 5/5 — Love the new VF!

*2025-10-19*

Finally this magazine is writing interesting things again!

### 5/5 — Call

*2024-08-16, version 6.2*

I couldn’t link my print and app either. I called the toll free number and in less than two minutes Mark linked it for me. I’m all set.

### 5/5 — As entertaining as the print version

*2022-10-24, version 5.7*

I have been a fan of Vanity Fair as long as I can remember. Trailblazer journalism at its best. The app is great, although I also love to read it in print.

### 5/5 — Back issues

*2022-07-02, version 5.7*

How about access to back issues prior to 2007

### 5/5 — Vanity Fair

*2022-02-16, version 5.7*

Beautiful periodical! Thank you for introducing it to me.

### 5/5 — VF LIFER

*2022-01-27, version 5.7*

I subscribed in mid-2020 when I wanted more variety to read besides books and NYT. Getting VF was the best decision. I read it every day and love the variety of articles from politics to the royal family to light celeb gossip (without being too salacious like People which is awful) to meaty, gripping journalism. Best investment. I’m a Vanity Fair lifer.

### 5/5 — An amazing digital magazine

*2020-09-26*

Not just essentially a photo or pdf of each magazine page. It’s optimized for how you read on a tablet (scrolling each article) while left and right swipes move you from article to article. Links within each issue jump to other relevant sections of the issue or additional info and updates online. You can get a digital-only subscription for 15 dollars for the first year that gives you access to the tablet and website content. This is a well thought-out publication.

Also VF has amazing articles across all topics.

### 5/5 — On line subscriptions

*2020-03-10, version 5.7*

Easy to use.
Love the archives issue

### 5/5 — App update failure

*2019-09-06, version 5.5*

Updated the app & now it is frozen. Frankly am tired of the ongoing issues with this app. Fix it
