### 2/5 — for $15?

*2026-03-12, version 1.18*

you should be able to play music in background without it turning off everytime you open app. also it’s impossible to keep your turtle alive unless you’re not vaping at all, which seems strange for an app that suppose to help you quit slowly. honestly is working for me but i wish i would’ve chose a better app.

### 1/5 — waste of time

*2025-11-04, version 1.12*

you cant have “free” in the name of the app and then expect me to pay TWO HUNDRED RAND A WEEK

### 1/5 — Everything is always paid

*2025-10-27*

It’s kinda disgusting imo that you can’t even access the app without a subscription. Like I might as well just continue being a smoker lol! It’ll save my money to not purchase vapes, but I still pay a monthly amount for an app? 😭😂 it’s ridiculous

**Developer response:** Hi there! We understand you can feel frustrated being asked to pay for an app when you’re trying to save money by quitting. But here’s the thing: the average vaper spends far more than the cost of the VapeFree subscription. Often over €100 per month on pods or disposables! With VapeFree, you invest a small fraction of that to finally break free for good. VapeFree is professionally developed and regularly maintained to provide reliable support. These costs help us keep the program effective, ad-free, and constantly improving. We hope you will give VapeFree another chance!

### 2/5 — No Trial, Just Pay Right Away

*2025-08-26, version 1.08*

Won’t even let you have a free trial to see if you like the app or if it works for you. After answering all questions, you’re taken to the payment screen - £52 lifetime, £23 monthly or £11 weekly. It’s cute and it seems like something you’d want to come back to check progress, but if they won’t even give you the 3 day or 7 day free trial like most of the apps, then what’s the point of paying £11 for something i don’t even know will work. I would be willing to pay if i knew the app is working at least.

### 1/5 — You need to pay for everything

*2025-08-12*

22,90 A WEEK? Yeah, no.

**Developer response:** Hello! Thank you for your feedback. We understand that pricing may not fit everyone’s budget, and we hope you find a solution that better meets your needs for quitting vaping. If you ever decide to give VapeFree another try, you’re always welcome back!

### 1/5 — No free plan

*2025-07-28*

Hypes you up with all this emotional stuff then smacks you with a fee to even use the app. There’s no free plan so if you are low income, this app doesn’t care about your health. Apparently only wealthy people deserve to try and quit. Uninstalling and warning others.

**Developer response:** Hello there! Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We understand your concerns and appreciate your feedback. While the app requires a subscription to access all features, this helps us provide ongoing support and develop tools to help users quit successfully. We’re always exploring ways to make quitting accessible for everyone and will keep your input in mind.

### 1/5 — Review

*2025-07-27, version 1.07*

I don’t know if I can fully review this app, but I will say that, me trying to find an app to help me and cut back on spending money, I wouldn’t recommend this one. I answered all the questions it needed me to and then at the end, it asked for money to help me quit.. I’m sorry but if you’re trying to help someone I didn’t think we’d have to pay for it.

### 2/5 — An actual review from a person not payed for fake words

*2025-07-20, version 1.07*

Honestly better than nothing but there are several things that I wish were different about this app that I wish I knew prior to spending the $15 on it because yea it says free in the App Store but you take a 6 question quiz and then you have to pay for it so 1.) I wish that you didn’t know to know your daily puff count to start it would be more user friendly if you could begin your first day by tracking your puffs as you go along by pressing the add puff button 2.) the charts don’t make any sense I wish I could see what times of day I use the vape more and keep that data day after day to compare currently after the week is over your data just collapses into the monthly chart and you can’t see the times or days anymore and for the record the numbers on the charts don’t make sense what time of day is zero please tell me 3.) there are only three daily goals and they never change so you can only earn two points a day because one of the three is completing your goal of quitting so my turtle is so depressing because I can’t get anymore points to cheer it up because I haven’t quit yet because I’m using an app that is supposed to help me taper down my usage

### 3/5 — I do like this app… BUT

*2025-07-08, version 1.07*

Developers using the “hOw MuCh HaVe YoU sPeNt On VaPeS aLrEaDy” just to try and get you to pay is low and you’re coming off money hungry imo. Even using the “we have experts who helped us with this app” so I can only 1) set my goal when to quit and 2)add puffs? where do the experts come in? Also the “pet” is severely broken as well as the many spelling mistakes I’ve come across…

All in all, I would recommend looking at different apps because not even being able to TRY an app before you buy it? in todays economy? 😭🤣✋🏼

### 2/5 — Money Money Money

*2025-07-02, version 1.1*

The idea is to quit vaping to save money right? So why would I put all the money I’d save back into an app. I’ll quit on my own for less than $10 a week. That’s simply ridiculous.

### 1/5 — gross

*2025-06-03, version 1.05*

taking advantage of people with addictions is gross. just play ads. id spend more money a year to use this app than to just keep vaping LOL. weird.

### 1/5 — Cost more than I would save

*2025-05-31, version 1.05*

This app is pointless if money is an issue for you. Should at least be able to track without the personalized plan (that I clicked skip for) and can’t use any features. Doesn’t care about helping people only making money off them.

### 1/5 — Free to download, pay to use

*2025-05-15, version 1.04*

Any app that says it’s free to download but then once you download it and set up your account, it asks which paid plan you want, immediately one star. If it costs money, then say that in the App Store. They’re praying on people who want to better their lives

### 1/5 — Won’t let me add puffs

*2025-05-12, version 1.04*

Just got this app and I was excited to try it but whenever I try to add puffs it pops up the puff settings. I’ve tried changing the settings and I’ve been trying to add puffs but it still pops up the puff settings and won’t let me add puffs. I wish I could get my money back.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No free option

*2026-08-20, version 1.24*

App has you choose a subscription plan right away. No free options for limited use.

### 1/5 — Not free guys

*2026-06-09, version 1.22*

This app isn’t free guys, it lets you download it and fill out all of the info but then won’t let you use it without a subscription. Not even an option to just be able to watch ads.

### 1/5 — Pet doesn’t work

*2026-04-18, version 1.19*

The only reason I got this app was for the pet as I quit - despite getting more hearts every day, when I use them on the pet nothing happens. The number does not increase under the pet’s health.

### 1/5 — too expensive

*2026-03-06, version 1.18*

The app requires you to pay subscription fee fees that are incredibly expensive. I’m sure it works great if you can afford it, but it is way too expensive.

### 1/5 — Can’t use with 0mg vape juice

*2026-03-01, version 1.17*

I need to change the puff strength to 0mg as I’m down to juice without any nicotine. I input 0mg, added a puff, now the nicotine level has been reset to 0.1mg. This only happens after you change it to 0mg. I would like a refund as I cannot use the app.

### 1/5 — Vape Free = Not free at all

*2026-01-14, version 1.14*

Way to waste everyone’s time! DONT bother with this app! The pricing is outrageous any money you would save by not vaping you’ll just spend on this terrible pricing! At least advertise your terrible app properly! Trashhhhh

### 1/5 — lol not a free app

*2026-01-11, version 1.14*

Thanks for actually not caring if people quit and being greedy af monthly sub just for you to message me notifications to “help me quit” so sick of downloading an app that I thought was free but is actually $70+ be so fr how does this help me save money from vaping hahaha when you are asking for just as much money in a subscription as a vape would cost 😂😂😂😂😂 in some cases your app costs more 😂. No way I’ll just ask my doctor to help … thanks for LITERALLY NOTHING. I also think it’s super hilarious that according to other users there are spelling mistakes and the pet function is a joke… yet you want me to pay AS MUCH AS I PAID FOR Balders Gate 3…. For this …. For a broken phone app …. You should be ashamed though I doubt you are….

### 1/5 — expensive af

*2025-12-14, version 1.14*

i understand having a subscription but the pricing is outrageous

### 1/5 — not free

*2025-11-13, version 1.13*

if i could give it zero i would. theres nothing worse than when an app says its “free” and then continues to let you fill out all the information and then wants to charge you 50 to use the app. 👎

### 1/5 — Have to pay

*2025-11-07, version 1.12*

You can only use the app if you pay for a subscription

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Costs money

*2025-11-04, version 1.12*

Looks like a great app but too expensive

### 5/5 — Works for me

*2025-08-15, version 1.08*

Been cutting back without the crazy withdrawals. Finally an app doesn’t make me feel guilty…

### 5/5 — Hearts for Pet

*2025-06-30, version 1.1*

Every time I complete my goals and don’t go over my limit, i never get any hearts? I can’t heal my pet without hearts and i haven’t been able to gain any hearts and i have been doing so well and completing my goals but im still not getting hearts to heal my pet??

### 5/5 — Actually helping

*2025-03-14, version 1.02*

I tried quitting cold turkey multiple times but always failed. This app makes it manageable, give it a try!

### 5/5 — I’m proud of myself 🌟

*2025-02-16, version 1.02*

First time I actually feel like I am in control of my nicotine use. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Totally worth it

*2025-02-05, version 1.02*

I’m happy I found this app, the widget is super convenient

### 5/5 — Wonderful app, must use

*2024-12-09*

VapeFree has made my life so much better. I feel a lot better and have saved so much too.

### 3/5 — Costs $55

*2026-02-05, version 1.15*

Looks like a great app but after you fill in all your info they tell you it’s subscription and you can pay $55 for a year, $100 for unlimited or $21 a week. Really wish they had a monthly option as that is what their quitting timeline works in.

### 3/5 — Stuck at 200 puffs

*2026-01-02, version 1.14*

App works well, apart from when I originally set it up i set my daily puffs to 200, even when I reset my plan I cannot change this no matter what I try which makes it really difficult to accurately track my progress.

### 3/5 — Helpful for keeping track. Staying motivated.

*2025-08-19, version 1.08*

I downloaded this app to keep track of my vape use and to reduce daily to quit. That’s exactly what it does. Added pet helps with motivation. To make it more useful they need to add the ability to adjust a previous day. Reading other users stories is very helpful!
