## What is Vargr?

Strength, metcons and cardio in one history. Vargr is the hybrid athlete's log: barbell work, conditioning and running side by side, instead of three apps that never talk to each other.

FREE, PERMANENTLY
• Log lifts, metcons and cardio — one session, any mix
• 52 benchmark workouts, Rx and scaled, with your PRs tracked per weight
• A built-in metcon clock: For Time, AMRAP, EMOM, Intervals. Rotate for a full-screen wall timer
• A rest timer that keeps counting on your Lock Screen
• Apple Watch — run a metcon from your wrist, with live heart rate and calories
• Apple Health sync, both ways, including cardio import
• Build your own workouts, or generate one from the curated movement library
• Every trend and PR analysis, a plate calculator, and your whole history

No account. No sign-in. Everything syncs privately through your own iCloud.

RACE PREP — the paid part
Got a race in the diary? Set it up and Vargr builds a plan backward from the date.

Start with a baseline half sim: the full course at half volume, about an hour, with a split recorded at every station. Those splits are the numbers everything else is built from — your pace and station targets come from what you actually did, not from a chart. Re-sim later and the targets re-base off the new numbers.

From there it's week by week to race day: an authored 12-week plan across Base, Build, Peak and Taper, sessions sized to the days you can actually train, and strength that advances off the sets you have logged. No sled or ski erg where you train? The plan substitutes by time rather than dropping the station.

Setting your race up is free. The sims, the targets and the plan are Vargr Pro — new subscribers start with a 14-day free trial.

Vargr is not affiliated with or endorsed by HYROX. HYROX is a trademark of Upsolut Sports AG.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 2.1 — 2026-09-08

RACE PREP

Set your race and Vargr builds a plan backward from the date.

• A baseline half sim — the full course at half volume, with a split at every station
• Pace and station targets built from your own splits, not a chart
• A 12-week plan through Base, Build, Peak and Taper, sized to the days you train
• Equipment substitution by time, so a missing sled doesn't drop the station
• Strength that advances off the sets you have actually logged
• A Race tab with your countdown, this week's sessions and the weeks ahead

MORE OF THE APP IS FREE

Building and generating workouts, every trend and PR analysis, the plate calculator, Apple Health sync, and live heart rate and calories on Apple Watch are all free now. Race prep is the only paid part.

### 2.0 — 2026-08-29

Vargr 2.0 — the strength half, finished.

SEARCH FINDS EVERYTHING
Type a lift, a benchmark by name, a saved workout or a distance. Every result starts the thing straight away. It knows nicknames and plurals, and ranks what you actually use to the top.

PUT A WEIGHT ON A METCON
"100 back squats at 70 kg, for time" is now a workout you can build. And running it heavier starts its own personal-best line instead of telling you that you got slower.

THE STRENGTH LOGGER GREW UP
Last session in full, with a live +/- against it as you dial the weight. A PR banner when you beat it. Press and hold a set to record effort (RPE) and a note. Rest can be set per lift, because squats and curls do not want the same three minutes.

REST, EVERYWHERE YOU ARE
A sound and a haptic when rest ends — plus a banner if you have wandered into another app, and a buzz on your wrist if you are wearing one. The countdown keeps running on your Lock Screen.

ON YOUR WRIST
The picker leads with the workouts you actually run, not the most famous ones. Tap anywhere on the screen to log a round. Custom workouts show their movements and loads.

A GENERATOR THAT RESPECTS THE CLOCK
Pick 30 minutes and you get 30 minutes of work. Ask for an hour of metcon and you get several pieces, not one impossible AMRAP.

ALSO
15 curated strength sessions and 47 more movements, all searchable. Durations are set on a wheel now, not counted out in seconds. A rebuilt home screen. Settings that make sense. And a pocketed phone finally tells you when the clock runs out.
