## What is Vault Verity?

Vault Verity is a private document inventory and renewal-planning workspace for passports, IDs, licenses, insurance policies, warranties, certificates, and other household records.

Create an exact record for each document with its owner, type, issuer, issue and expiration dates, masked reference suffix, storage location, user-defined planning lead time, checklist, and private notes. Search, filter, archive, and review the complete library from a native iPhone and iPad interface.

The Today dashboard groups records into factual phases based on the dates you entered, including overdue, due soon, upcoming, and undated. A per-document audit timeline records the actions you log without inventing a health, risk, or readiness score. Six-month charts summarize renewal activity, while optional reminders are scheduled locally only after you ask for them.

Build plain-text, CSV, and PDF packets for personal review, or create a complete JSON backup and restore it by merging with or replacing the current vault. Vault Verity encrypts its local vault with AES-GCM and protects the encryption key in the iOS Keychain with device-only accessibility.

Vault Verity works without an account, advertising, analytics, tracking, subscription, in-app purchase, or developer-operated backend. Records stay on your device unless you explicitly export, back up, or share them. Vault Verity is an organization and planning tool; it does not verify identity, legal validity, insurance coverage, issuer rules, or renewal eligibility.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4 — 2026-08-22

Vault Verity 1.4 is a complete private-workspace upgrade.

- A redesigned Today dashboard groups records into factual overdue, due-soon, upcoming, and undated phases.
- The complete vault is encrypted with AES-GCM, with its key protected in the device-only iOS Keychain.
- Document records now include owners, issuers, exact dates, masked reference suffixes, storage locations, private notes, checklists, and your own planning lead times.
- Search, filters, archive/restore controls, renewal actions, and an audit timeline make large libraries easier to manage.
- Optional local reminders and six-month activity charts keep planning visible without an account or cloud service.
- Text, CSV, and PDF packets are available for review, plus full JSON backup with merge or replace restore.

No account, ads, analytics, tracking, subscription, in-app purchase, or developer-operated backend.

### 1.3 — 2026-06-23

Vault Verity now reminds you, charts your track record, and backs up your whole vault.

**Renewal reminders**
Turn on local reminders and get a notification when it's time to start renewing each document — a head start before the renew-by date, and again on the day itself. Pick how far ahead you want the heads-up. Everything is scheduled on your device; nothing leaves your phone.

**Renewal insights**
A new Insights tab logs every renewal you complete and turns it into simple charts: renewals per month, a breakdown by document type and household member, and your on-time rate so you can see how far ahead you've been staying.

**One-file backup and restore**
Export your entire vault — documents, renewal history, and settings — as a single JSON file you can save to Files or AirDrop to a new phone. Restoring lets you merge with what's already there or replace everything, so switching devices is painless.

Still 100% offline, no account, no ads, no tracking. All data stays on your device.

### 1.2 — 2026-06-19

What's New - Vault Verity 1.2 (build 4)

Vault Verity now tells you when to *start* renewing, not just when a document expires.

Renew-by dates
Every document now shows a recommended "Renew by" date, computed offline from a bundled lead-time guide for its type. Passports also get a six-month buffer because most destinations require six months of validity past your entry date - so a passport is flagged months ahead, not the week it expires.

Renewal queue with traffic-light status
The Today tab ranks your open documents by how soon you must act - Expired, Act now, Plan now, On track - each with its own color, so a real deadline never slips past you.

Household members
Assign an owner to any document and filter your Library by person - you, a partner, a child, a parent - with per-person counts in the Toolkit.

Renewal plan export
Share or save a clean renewal plan that lists only your open documents, ordered by urgency, each with its renew-by date and the source behind the timeline. CSV and the full packet now include document type, owner, renew-by date, and status too.

Built-in renewal reference
A new in-app guide shows every renewal lead time and cites its official U.S. source (State Dept., CBP, USCIS, TSA, and state DMVs). General planning guidance, not legal advice.

Still 100% offline, no account, no ads, no tracking. All data stays on your device.
