However your WiFi settings have to use WPA/WPA2 (TKIP) in order to stay connected. Using these settings, the safe works flawlessly to alert realtime, each time the safe is opened or alarmed. But if you switch to WPA2 or WPA3 WiFi settings, it will not function properly, which is concerning. Please update your software and support to your otherwise excellent products! ### 3/5 — Works Fine. Needs More Frequent Updates. *2024-05-21, version 1.0.30* App has basic functionality. I can monitor and configure my safes with it. Does not constantly disconnect from Wi-Fi for me (some other guy said he had that problem). My only complaint is very little effort put in to update and improve the app. Missing some small features that aren’t “necessary” but would be “nice” like being able to choose the order in which your safes are displayed in the “select safe” list. Currently the order is random and cannot be changed. Vaultek safes are awesome and I own three of them as well as two of their LifePods. I wish they would provide a similar caliber product in their app. ### 2/5 — Extremely poor WiFi connectivity *2024-05-10, version 1.0.30* There needs to be a complete overhaul of the WiFi feature. The feature loses connectivity consistently and needs constant reset. I believe the feature needs a firmware upgrade to fix. Hopefully the company is working on it. ### 1/5 — Flaming garbage - run away *2024-02-23, version 1.0.30* I own 5 of these Bluetooth and WiFi - the WiFi app is complete garbage and makes the product effectively worthless. Can’t connect, can’t change settings, the list goes on. ### 2/5 — Wifi connection very invasive *2023-12-03, version 1.0.30* @Vaultek — pass this on to your engineers. This device is an IoT (Internet of things) device and this should be untrusted. It should not require scanning your network, having access to unsafe protocols, and the like. My Wi-Fi network was connected in ‘guest mode’, which prevents peer access. The safe should permit connecting to the Internet, **without** having to speak to other devices on the network. I suspect that a lot of the reasons why you’re getting Kahn duty issues is because of how presumptive you are here. ### 1/5 — Won’t connect to WiFi *2023-10-16, version 1.0.30* Absolute garbage. Returning two of these $650 safes to Amazon…. Won’t connect to my 2.4ghz network (which it requires). All of their apps have horrible reviews, and they’ve done nothing to fix things. ### 1/5 — Says safe is always offline, when it’s not. *2023-09-24, version 1.0.30* Vaultek sells itself as a tech savvy option, but this app is not usable. The safe says it is online, and I get notifications on my phone for open doors and such, but the app just says it is offline and there is no real time monitoring of locked status, temperature/humidity, etc. ### 1/5 — Frustration *2023-09-06, version 1.0.30* Couldn’t remember code so tried to reset password. For as expensive as their products and safes are you’d think they’d put a serious effort in to their apps to make sure they were helpful. This particular app, would not go past the “set your own pattern lock” page. So there it sat, nothing else, just a black screen with dots with NO other options to go forward OR back. Seriously? ### 1/5 — Poor quality *2023-05-10, version 1.0.30* Vaultek's software is very poor, the connection fails frequently, there is no point in paying a high price for their safe, there is not enough product quality to justify the high price, and some are just various gimmicks. If there is a company that makes good-looking smart tactical safes at a reasonable price, that company is not going to survive. ### 1/5 — Trash *2023-04-22, version 1.0.30* App asks multiple times to authenticate my phone. ### 1/5 — Garbage!!!!! *2023-03-23, version 1.0.30* The app constantly crashes or disconnects from Wi-Fi. I’ve deleted an re-installed multiple times and now when I log try to log in it says loading for ever then says “you are disconnected, would you like to reconnect”. I click “yes” and see a green signal meter light up a few times then nothing over and over again. If you check “no” for reconnecting the app goes to loading again and ends up right back at the disconnected message. This app is absolute garbage. I wouldn’t refer these to an enemy These safes are great looking and do what they’re supposed to do on the safe level. I have four different models that I’ve bought over the years. The newest one or two will be returned. ALWAYS have had an issue with the Wi-Fi/app. Unfortunately I was told by customer service when I could reach someone that they were working on it. As for a safe they are great. For what you pay because of the features they deserve a negative 5 star review at a minimum. I have to give them a positive 1 star to submit this. Very upset safe does not work as advertised ### 1/5 — Wi-Fi is worthless *2023-02-05, version 1.0.30* I’m reading reviews from 1-2 years ago and they all mention how impossible it is to get your safe connected to your Wi-Fi network. Well, it’s 2023 and they still haven’t fixed it. Not sure if it is the software or the Wi-Fi hardware but either way I spent $1,800 on a safe that doesn’t do what it advertises. If you really want a safe that connects to your network, this is not the one. ### 1/5 — Total disappointment *2023-02-05, version 1.0.30* After a couple of years of working fine, I abruptly get an error indicating I’ve been disconnected, do you want to reconnect… Whether I say yes or no, I get the same result. Is this really the extent of your capability? Pathetic. Thanks for robbing me of my money then basically ignoring my needs after the sale. Move on to a different, more customer-centric brand. Good safe, but worthless app. I was reading the reviews from 2 years ago and people saying the same thing, no hope for them to update the app. Returned the safe yesterday save your money ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — WiFi safes are no longer supported *2025-12-02* Those of us with WiFi safes are now second class citizens in Vaultek’s eyes. Support for the server software that makes the safes able to be managed by the app has been either neglected or down to the point that the safes are unreliable, and the app useless, as Vaultek now only supports ViSN safes properly. This company takes your money and gives you nothing but problems, and this app, to support the WiFi safes no longer functions, and so neither do the safes that depend on it. ### 1/5 — Same Unresolved Issue *2025-11-27, version 1.0.30* WiFi doesn’t work. Robbed again. Guess it’s too much to fix. If I were a tech, I’d fix it myself and tell customers to pay me and not Vaultek. I deleted the app and downloaded it again and I even deleted the safe from the app and tried to add it again. Now I can’t use the app at all whatsoever. Complete trash of an app and makes me think why I even bought this safe. I paid all that money for the WiFi features and the app and they don’t even work at all. If you read this I am sorry you spent your money on Vaultek. The safe is overpriced and made in you-know-where. No surprise the app and its claim to have wifi connectivity is a fake. Vaultek is either totally uncaring about its customers or is having financial trouble, because there can be no other excuses why this wifi app and its associated hardware could be this poorly implemented.Do yourself a favor, if you can return the safe DO IT NOW. Very disappointed. iPhone 15 Pro. ### 1/5 — How is Vaultek still selling this? *2024-04-18, version 1.0.30* Upon first downloading the app, I couldn't even sign up for a new account. Kept getting the error message: "Unknown error: [Errno 113] No route to host" It's worth noting that I'm a product designer myself and this is the kiss of death for any product not to even allow a new user to progress past the signup state. Im returning this safe before I even unbox it. I had heard from gun stores that the WiFi and biometric technology is just not ready for prime time. I’ve never har a problem and the device and app work great. ### 5/5 — Does what it’s supposed to do *2024-05-13, version 1.0.30* I’ve had this app for a while now and have had zero problems. This surprises me since I’ve read a lot of very bad reviews speaking about all kinds of problems with it. It connected with my WiFi on the second attempt and has stayed connected. If anyone does anything with the safe the app lets me know about it. I think this app and the safe are a great combination and I’m very pleased. Either Vaultek did a lot of improvements to the app or I’m extremely fortunate. ### 5/5 — Fantastic App! *2021-12-08, version 1.0.26* With Vaultek’s WiFi enabled safes you can receive live notifications of safe activity and even manage safe settings remotely. I really love the fact that I can receive instant notifications of tampering. I also keep getting tamper alerts and unknown fingerprint attempt even thou no one touched the scanner and impact detection set to low. I left off a star because it’s super lame that there is no feature in the app to extend the interior light. It stays on for like 10 second when I open the door then I have to turn on the closet light or keep feeling for the button in the dark to get light in 10 second intervals. Very annoying and a simple add that was overlooked for the app. 5 stars if they add that feature. Otherwise I love the safe. ### 4/5 — Works as expected *2021-03-10, version 1.0.22* App provides the basic features and, most importantly, the notifications that I expected for the Slider NSL20i safe. For this safe, the temperature and humidity readings/limit settings weren’t mentioned as a feature. A tamper indicator is shown in the app, but the impact detection sensitivity setting is disabled, which is a bit disappointing. Battery level, safe lock status, history log and fingerprint renaming features work fine. Since the safe’s keypad and biometric fingerprint scanner is quick and reliable, I decided not to use the smart key, and therefore did not test the App’s smart key settings. The initial WiFi connection took a few attempts before it finally completed the process. ### 4/5 — Horrible *2020-07-23, version 1.0.19* Absolutely horrible app. Took forever to get it to connect to my internet because the app would glitch. Still can’t get it fully connected and get to the main page to view my safes information because when I go to select safe after I click add user it just freezes or the app crashes.
