Also it’s strange there are 5 different apps in the App Store. ### 4/5 — wrong app *2024-12-25, version 3.1.8* On the quick start guide it says to download this app and has this app logo on it. But the owner's manual has a different app. I wasn't able to get this app to work with my safe. ### 2/5 — Pattern unlock is stupid. *2024-11-05, version 3.1.8* The pattern unlock is the worst part. ### 2/5 — History log useless *2022-05-09, version 3.1.6* Doesn’t record tampering events or access using key. You can enable the keypad to alert when the key is used or the lock is picked but it doesn’t actually record the event. Since the safe can be picked in about 30 seconds (see youtube) this is critical info to record. Wish I knew this before purchase. ### 2/5 — Love the safe, not the app *2022-03-16, version 3.1.6* The safe itself is perfect! I’ve never had a single issue aside from the occasional fingerprint not working but I’m assuming it’s user error. The app on the other hand is not good. It says it was supposed to send notifications on when the safe is opened or attempted to be opened - it doesn’t. When I go to my phones settings to check the notification settings of the app- the app doesn’t even show up. Those notifications were the major selling point in why I picked this safe as apposed to a less expensive but similar safe. I’ll definitely save the money and go for the lesser next time as not having a working app makes this not worth the price. ### 2/5 — Face ID?? *2022-02-08, version 3.1.6* The shape code vs using Apple’s face ID isn’t practical. I rarely use the App, but when I do, I can’t remember that dumb code. I had to delete the app and haven’t gotten around to reinstalling. Developers being too smart for their own good. ### 2/5 — Crashes *2021-12-17, version 3.1.6* App just crashes when trying to connect to safe ### 3/5 — Clunky app - needs push notifications *2021-12-15, version 3.1.6* This app is pretty easy to use despite being clunky, and it does an alright job of showing the vault status. This would be a four star review if this app had ONE feature - push notifications!!! I’ve looked everywhere and cannot find any way to set up push notifications… which means the only way I’m going to know the status of my vault is by opening the app every time I want to make sure no one’s tampered with it?? Push notifications would be a proactive way for us to know if something has changed so we can respond to it appropriately. Please add this feature!! ### 3/5 — Very Outdated *2021-08-21, version 3.1.6* It appears this app is no longer being maintained/developed. Good product, but bad app. If you are buying a safe because of this app, I would think again. I don’t trust an app that is not being maintained. ### 4/5 — Bluetooth *2021-04-04, version 3.1.6* The Bluetooth the pro vt doesn’t always want to connect to the vaultek app but otherwise it’s a great pistol safe ### 2/5 — Not worth it *2021-04-02, version 3.1.6* This app is weak, the safe has tampering sound, but doesn’t send live alerts....... ### 2/5 — OK, but could use a lot of updating. *2021-04-02, version 3.1.6* This app pairs fine with your safe and does what it’s designed to do. But the app could use a huge makeover. 1. The app interface visually looks like it’s stuck in the 1990s. The touch screen keyboard, amongst everything else, in the app is from a very very old iOS (maybe iOS 5-7). 2. The app is “slow” to do some of the most menial things like pressing a button or going back to the previous screen. 3. This is a HUGE inconvenience. An app for a safe should at least have push notifications! What’s the point of a remote app if it can’t be used like a remote app? Push notifications should be: every time the safe is opened or attempted to open, which method was used/attempted (biometric, keys or pin), important battery lifes (eg: 20%, 10%, 5%) and how long the safe was open. 4. We should be able to toggle every option on/off such as unlocking via the app, maybe a loud alarm for unauthorized access (forcing the safe open). In summary, the safe let’s you manipulate prints, very few settings and displays histories when actively checking, which is what the app says it’s supposed to do. However, the app is not taking advantage of its full capabilities listed above. Update the app and I’ll give it 5 stars! ### 3/5 — Good for Basic Usage *2021-01-10, version 3.1.6* This app does a good job for the basic features, but it could do so much more. One main problem I keep running into is my battery dying and not knowing it’s dead. Thankfully I haven’t found out it’s dead in a life or death situation but it would be a shame if it came to that one day! They could simply incorporate a push notification system that would tell you when your battery reaches a predetermined percentage (I.e. 50%, 25%, 10%, 5%, “critically low”, etc.). Or even allowing the user to select their open notification level. Otherwise the app is good enough I suppose. You can use it to open the safe but not great in an emergency, doesn’t show battery charging progress other than the fact that is is being charged, and a few other small things. But gets the job done I suppose. ### 4/5 — Pls support using FaceID with the app *2020-11-01, version 3.1.6* Overall nice features but would appreciate adding: – Unlock the app via TouchID or FaceID instead of a pattern. – Push notifications when the vault opens or someone tries to tamper with it. ### 1/5 — Comes up with wrong safe?? *2020-09-26, version 3.1.3* So therefore I cannot use app as it won’t take my master code as it’s not the safe that I have. Just got around to getting it mounted and working. Love the safe. Very dissatisfied with the Bluetooth feature. It’s nice for a day until it can’t find the safe. I have done the soft reset and started over 4 days in a row. It just doesn’t stay connected. Bluetooth was the reason I bought the one I did. Should have save my money on that feature. On first use, you’ll be prompted to set a dot pattern as a security measure. Once you’re past that, you’ll connect your safe (I have the 10i) via Bluetooth. This is a first class product all the way, starting with the packaging, if you think Apple does a good job packaging their product then you will appreciate Vaultek’s attention to details. The safe is definitely top of the line and worth the extra money over the competition. It was very easy to set up and the instructions were simple and easy to follow, great job Vaultek! ### 5/5 — Just what I needed *2019-03-01, version 3.1.2* Recently purchased the Vaultek safe with Bluetooth technology. The safe is compact, well constructed and reliable. I will recommended this product to friends. ### 5/5 — THE ABSOLUTE BEST *2019-02-20* I am in law enforcement and currently own two Vaultek safes. One is a small portable and the other larger for my nightstand. The security and performance of both are second to none. Both of mine have the fingerprint scanner and Bluetooth which works quickly and reliably. The company has the best customer service department I have ever dealt with. They answer all questions quickly and truly care about their customers which is rare today. The safes come packaged perfectly and include everything that you need. They are made of the highest quality and the reputation of the company is second to none. Many of my friends in law-enforcement have told me that this is the only gun safe they would purchase. I have and will continue highly recommend them to anyone who wants the best product and outstanding customer service.
