I’ve had to reset the camera too d often , now resetting does not fix this issue. We’ll be Replacing you. ### 3/5 — Stopped connecting. Now wants WiFi connection. *2025-07-21, version 2.7.4* I was very happy using this cam, feeling secure that if anything were to happen while driving, there would be a record of it. But for months now, when I want to see and record from Dash to my iPhone, it won’t connect because there’s no WiFi. Wha’? Of course there’s no WiFi, as I’m driving down the road!!?! I don’t have WiFi in my car! It won’t connect to my iOS anymore. This was never a problem in the past. Now I have no idea whether it’s recording or anything. Whatever you did to change the app, it’s a worthless piece of junk to me now. It takes me several tries before I can connect but it'll disconnect on its own. The wifi tells me "no internet connection" when I click on it. A hundred dollar camera that's a waste! I bet no one in the VAVA support knows what else to do😂. I've tried all the tips and tricks but nothing is working. Skip the update if you have the previous version. At least I could preview the videos on the new camera. Now? I guess they’re telling me I have to buy a new one? ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Amazing dash cam *2021-01-22* I’ve had 2 VAVA dash cams since they came out on Kickstarter years ago and both my cameras are still as good as the day I bought them. Nothing has broken, and the Sony cameras are still working perfectly. I use both cameras in my big rig, and bought a 3rd VAVA dash cam for my wife’s car, so if they can take the abuse and jarring bumps of an 18 wheeler u can be sure they will work flawlessly in your 4 wheeler(trucker talk for cars). Thanks VAVA for an amazing dash cam, and even better customer service and continued updates. ### 5/5 — Unable To Connect After IOS 13 Update *2019-10-22* **UPDATE Its working again!! IOS 13.1.3 seems to have fixed the issue!! Camera is unable to connect after IOS13 was installed. Deleted app and re-installed, now it shows “Firmware version is too old. Please Update” I then select “Update” then i says “Failed to obtain upgrade information. Please verify network connection” Its been a very reliable dash cam, however this isn't helping. Sure hope an update is made!! ### 5/5 — So far so good 2nd unit *2019-09-15* This is my second unit, first one failed, ( replaced free from VaVa) tried using regular micro SD cards it has failed three times, finally splashed out, purchased a micro SDTF card I format it to fat 32 as it is only a 64 gig and so far no issues with pictures or recording or sound I am really pleased so far with this camera I want to purchase a second one for another vehicle in the family but cannot figure out how to separate the two cameras if I choose to drive another vehicle but so far so good thank you this is a much better camera than a Goluk T2 I previously used ### 5/5 — Excellent dash cam *2019-07-05* Received as a thoughtful gift from my son and daughter-in-law. I had it professionally hardwired for a clean install and also for not having to remember to plug in. I’ve had it for a year and a half with zero problems. I love how it interfaces with my iPhone and how easy it is to edit clips and post on social media. The most spectacular footage I caught was when a pedestrian dashed out in front of me and I nearly nailed them. Thankfully I was able to stop in time but if I hadn’t then I had the footage exonerating me of any wrongdoing. It’s also fun for recording scenic drives accompanied by good tunes as well as jackass drivers along with my colorful trucker profanities. A dash cam is the best evidence you can have if you’re in an accident. I like this one a lot and highly recommend it. ### 5/5 — Very good Experience it's fun with filter *2019-03-21* I am using the latest app version. I am impressive about the filter, you can edit the snapshots on your phone and share them on the social media immediately. I also notice that the resolution of the footage is very high. People are a little confused I think by devices WiFi, Bluetooth, and battery backup emergency mode. WiFi connects phone app to cam for live feeds and quick downloads. Even if app and phone not present cam chugs away recording everything on internal (not included but supports up to 128 class 10 awesome) Sd micro card. If your mem cards comes unformatted the cam will format it for you but you must tell it to under settings (in app). The Bluetooth is strictly for an awesome little remote button literally no bigger than the CR123, battery in it. Sticky tape (included) to dash hang spot and you have instant (1 sec delay) control to take snapshot or hold for 3 sec for 15 sec loop video (15 seconds default can be changed.). Battery backup only kicks in if car is shaken tapped hit hard enough to kick off g sensors. Records 15 sec “emergency” video, stores to mem card, goes back to sleep. Great little product worth every penny! And app creator did very nice job on navigation help travel log, menu. Very polished. I am a huge garmin fan. I have not bought a garmin dash cam but for $115 bucks on a-prime, free app, no subscription, no ads, magnetic mount, Sony optics, infrared night awesome, etc. don’t think twice. Kudos to app creator and device creator. Buying one for my wife and her car right now. Oh, and magnetic mount if worried about theft. Un-plug micro usb, pull off magnetic mount, stick in pocket, literally size of a can of tobacco dip (Snuff) or for the ladies, size of like two make up mirror compacts together. Genius. 👍👍👍👍👊 ### 5/5 — Is very good *2018-12-31, version 2.1.0* I had purchased other dash cams and turn out to be a waste of money. But this VAVA dash has been awesome! Love the features and the fact that it actually works and doesn’t freeze up. The only thing I recommend is in future models to add the night vision but I’m very satisfied with it. ### 5/5 — My first dash cam *2018-10-23* I really enjoy this cam, it advertised as it say, alway on and since I have a cigarette socket that alway stay on, perfect for my dash cam to stay on after the car been turned off... it recorded all night and day and u can change setting for camera, and so easy to share it online social media, I used it for my rideshare Incase something happen there will be no disputes with the video. I got the 128 gb memory card for the camera and vava cam format itself and shoot! easy breezy... it can be reviewed 12-18hours ago unless u saved it... then the WiFi thing was confusing at first but now I realized now it meant for your phone WiFi to hook connect it to WiFi on the vava cam, after I figure it out, I am able to take picture, video, turn it around for front traffic or back for rideshare depending on my day it really come in handy... just order gps Bluetooth, hopefully I can take quicker picture/video with the button and gps stamp it... excellent for catching unexpected moment...
