As someone who is not familiar with EVs, I was immediately anxious about the cars battery when it arrived. Apparently, Vay cars are supposed to be “fully charged” upon pickup. My vehicle was less than 25% charged when I picked it up. This instantly made me anxious because 1. I was heading to a gathering with friends. 2. I had absolutely no idea where a charging station was. 3. I used the app to find the nearest station, and I was connected to a third party website that directed me to a station that I later found out was “coming soon”. 4. On a 107 degree day in Las Vegas NV, the AC wasn’t working well. I assume it’s because the battery was low. I tried getting in contact with customer service FIVE times and never got through! I finally decided to just drive the car to my destination with the hope that I would make it. Keep in mind, VAY charges $150 for someone to come out for an emergency charg if the battery dies, but that only gives the car enough of a charge to drive. After that, you have to find the nearest charging station. I was able to make it to my destination, and to my benefit, there was a charging station in the complex, although it was a slow charging station. I’m really on the fence about whether or not I’ll use Vay again, especially during the summer months. ### 4/5 — Price comparison *2026-05-25, version 1.22.0* The concept of the service is great for quick and convenient type of travel. Anything beyond an hour is expensive. I did a ride for 4hr and 30mins. My charge was $99. I could have rented from Fox rental for $15 a day versus $99 for 4-5hrs of drive time. Also had multiple times where I was parked in the assigned area, but it would tell me I needed to park and would try to email support and only got one response back and one reimbursement Updated) The app said nothing about needing an update the last few days before the raised prices but I had to delete and redownload for some odd reason. Currently in a situation where a vehicle was somehow unlocked without me near it when I had it reserved and driven for ..12 hours? On my account and after speaking to three different ppl they refuse to tell me I’ll be reimbursed and that they have -no way- to know I wasn’t the one driving (said they recorded every “help” call but had no record of my two calls saying I wasn’t driving the car and didn’t not unlock it myself) All three told me it was “the other person I have on my account” but I have given my info to NO ONE. was last told by the “manager” that they will get back to me when they can and my “request was in que” Apparently stuff like this isn’t new **Developer response:** Thanks for sharing this, we really appreciate your honesty. It’s very affordable and the hold for the $25 has never taken more than 1/2 hour after my ride. I love how they are expanding and definitely will use this instead of the rideshare apps where the company is taking all the money and not really paying the driver. If the driver was getting the majority of the money then i would consider, but since the driver only gets like 25-35% why would i support that. Made a great option for us to see Vegas. I’ve been 3 times before and used public transit or Uber. This is the best experience yet. The only button visible is skip for now which means that I was not able to sign up to create a profile to get the bay car I’ve been trying for a week I live in Las Vegas and I would like to use it but I’m stuck.?? ### 1/5 — Vay *2026-08-12, version 1.25.5* Trash ### 1/5 — Vay Sucks !!!!!!! *2026-07-31, version 1.25.4* Vay has really expensive prices for there cars and their cars always stink and have animal hair in them there never fully charged and for the prices they are charging people you might as well catch a Lyft or uber same price difference also I was told I would get $30 in credits because they messed up my ride and I was never compensated not mention when you actually need a vehicle there most of the time booked and your not even able to get a car I would give 0 stars if I could my time trying vay has been terrible and I do not recommend. ### 1/5 — BE WARY!!!!!! *2026-07-24, version 1.25.2* So when I first discovered the service I thought it was awesome simply because of the convenience and of you know sometimes just needing a vehicle for this very short period of time and then who would want to pay all of those extra fees etc. Well I’ve been using the service for about six months now I wanna say and out of the blue. They suspended my account so that I was attached to a bunch of fraud and refused to let me use again basically until they had done their research I’ve had no communication from them stating that there was even an issue and they basically just assumed that I was the one doing it without even having a conversation with me. I called customer service and it took me to voicemail even though I was on an active rental. The car finally arrives. I have to cancel my Uber. It doesn’t unlock it says I am not close enough to unlock it but I’m standing right next to it. It’s 91°. I have a huge box of stuff I need to take to work. I’ve already waited 20 minutes past what I wanted to I call customer service and it takes me to voicemail. The reservation time is going. I get a call back soon after asking what my name is. I’m so upset at that point telling him to unlock the car but he needs all of my information first as if there is a camera staring at me. He then retrieve the car without canceling my reservation The car is driving away and I’m still being charged ### 1/5 — When it doesn’t work, there’s no support. *2026-07-15* I was overcharged for my session because of multiple failed attempts to return the vehicle. I contacted Vay and was on hold for over 40 minutes with NO answer. I had to drive to multiple locations that were within the bounds of return but the app wouldn’t accept the car. To this day I’ve written Vay for even a partial refund for my charge. I followed up after my initial escalation and STILL haven’t received a response. I will not be utilizing this service again for such poor customer service and inability to rectify customer concerns. It simply cancels your ride. *2026-03-07, version 1.18.0* You prder the car, it says it’s coming, with all the little map thingy and stuff then it just cancels the ride with no explanation. It happened to me 3 times already. Don’t rely on it under any circumstance, especially if you’re going to a hospital or something. ### 1/5 — DO NOT RENT WITH VAY UNLESS YOU WANT AN EXPENSIVE HASSLE *2026-02-06, version 1.17.0* I had so many issues with the car that I truly don’t even know where to begin. I’ll start with the most egregious. The car would not turn off when it was time to end my ride. I’m called the support line multiple times and could not reach a customer service representative. Once the car is turned on, you have no way to turn it off other than the push button. If that does not work you are literally stuck in a car that is charging you by the minute without any way to turn the car off or end the ride. Customer service will not answer the phone. I will be disputing this with my credit card. This is absolutely not what I agreed to when I began this ride. There should be some type of emergency shut off inside the car or a button to reach support from inside at the very least.
