It runs the same steps as a real recording and shows green, orange, and red flags so you can see what your iPhone can handle. If the system closes the app during the test, you’ll see which step caused it • No recording gets lost. If AI analysis is interrupted, your note is still saved with the completed transcript. Failed recordings also get clear recovery options, including “Save transcript as memo” • Improved stability on iPhones with less memory thanks to smarter AI model management • More private: the app no longer looks for a Mac on your local network until you pair one yourself • Replay the welcome tour anytime in Settings > App ### 1.8.5. — 2026-08-11 An update focused on recording reliability. • Notifications and calls no longer interrupt recordings. Vays now resumes recording automatically, including when using CarPlay. • Apple Watch now clearly tells you if the system cannot access the microphone instead of showing a recording that is not actually capturing audio. • The Activity Log now tracks processing progress and can show which stage was reached before something went wrong. • Fixed the expired Discord support link. If something is not working, send us the Activity Log from Settings. It does not contain your recordings or transcripts, and it now provides much more useful diagnostic information. ### 1.8.4 — 2026-08-03 Critical fix - debugg now shows what really happens when app crashes and there is a new transparency layer on connections when sync to mac ### 1.8.3 — 2026-08-02 A major recording-reliability update. • Recording now resumes automatically after a phone call, Siri, or an alarm. When resuming isn’t possible, everything captured is saved and we tell you clearly. • The timer no longer resets to 0:00 after an interruption and now shows the duration of the entire session. • The live transcript preview no longer freezes after a few seconds. It also tells you when it has been temporarily paused, for example because the device is warm. • Playing memos, using voice chat, and running Shortcuts can no longer disturb an active recording. • Quick Tasks: the 30-second limit now works correctly in the background too. • Better memory management during long recordings means fewer unexpected stops, especially on older iPhones. • The Activity Log now captures the full recording lifecycle, including every interruption and its cause, making it easier to diagnose issues. • Minor bug fixes. As always, everything stays 100% on your device. ### 1.8.2 — 2026-07-24 What’s new in this version: • Speaker recognition directly on iPhone The new “Find Speakers” action retranscribes a recording using the Parakeet model and identifies who said what. The entire process runs on your phone, as long as the recording is still stored on the device and the Parakeet model has been downloaded. • Send to Mac Send a recording to your paired Mac for full speaker recognition, with no four-speaker limit and support for merging and splitting speaker segments. The result is returned to your iPhone automatically. If your Mac is offline, the task waits in the queue. This feature requires the latest version of Vays for Mac (2.6.2) • Smarter default mode on less powerful iPhones On devices with less memory, the first launch now opens the faster and more stable Transcription mode instead of AI Memo, together with a short explanation. Nothing changes on more powerful devices. • Quick swipe navigation Swipe left or right on the recording screen to switch modes. Use the same gesture on the note details screen to switch between tabs. • Apple Watch recordings Recordings from Apple Watch are now transferred to iPhone as transcripts only, without automatic AI analysis. • More reliable speaker recognition We added automatic retries after temporary errors and improved memory management before loading the model on devices with less RAM.
