The old app could crop the tops and bottoms off so it wasn’t reading aloud the headers and footers with every page. The “new” version with “enhanced customization” doesn’t have this feature. I also can’t rename things. I used to be able to say “Int” is interior, “Ext” is exterior and “DR” is doctor. It gets really annoying when it reads “DR HARRIS” as “Drive Harris”. Then I was recently forced to upgrade my phone and the latest version of this app got installed and now it is unusable. The voice is very unnatural and stops ever few seconds. I reached out to their support email on their website and got no response. It is pretty unethical to sell a product and then force the user to buy it again because of a “UI” change. I reported this issue almost two months ago but I have not received a reply. I would appreciate your assistance, --- 🌟 I want to express my sincere appreciation for the wonderful support I received. I had requested a transfer of my app to a nice-new iPad and, not seeing a response right away, I decided to purchase it again today. To my surprise, I was notified that I would receive it for free. It is not as functionally advanced as voicedream reader e.g. choice how app highlights the sentence, word, paragraph it is reading -- but vbooksz does the basics very very well, and has for many years. It has always been used to proofread studies I have prepared. Years ago I bought the UK British voice but can no longer acquire it in my app. It allowed me to change up readers and gave me some variation from day to day. Except this language issue, I have no other issues of dissatisfaction. I'm in the process of writing a (very long) book so I decided to use this app to help in the editing. I made each chapter into a PDF so the app could read it back to me. I found this was a far better way of picking out the errors than just reading it myself. Works brilliantly! Only one tiny problem... my book is about the ego and some of the voices pronounce it 'eggo'. Thankfully, the male American voice gets it right. :-) I found their customer services people to be excellent, responding quickly and efficiently to any queries I have had.
