## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — A great advert for Synology

*2023-07-12, version 1.1.1*

Yet another piece of out dated junk-software from QNAP.

### 1/5 — 3 years no updates

*2019-09-03, version 1.1.0*

When will this app get updated?
How can a massively expensive system that costs a fortune per camera license have a rubbish app that crashes and never gets updates. Sometimes I wonder about Qnap.

### 1/5 — Keep crashing out

*2016-09-26, version 1.1.0*

Setup is fiddly but QNAP provide good online setup help.
App crashes out on iPhone after a few minutes of surveillance and does not restart just goes back to iOS desktop.

### 1/5 — Obsolete

*2016-02-02*

Why apple doesn't remove obsolete and useless apps to avoid loss of time????

### 1/5 — Doesn't work on ios9

*2016-01-11*

Crashes. A lot.

### 1/5 — Great Potential - Poorly Done By QNAP

*2015-12-29, version 1.0.141013*

This is a good idea and would work well if it, well worked !

The app is not intuitive and lacks clear instructions - it also does not seem to work.

The expectation is that you will see the IP of your device in the top right , but after testing in a few devices it just states 0.0.0.0.

Also the aspect rations/resolution is off, it does not show you the correct dimensions through the camera - for some reason they as skewed! Giving things a fairground mirror affect.

Lastly the app looks like an old iOS 6 attempt it lacks the polish and quality you would expect from QNAP.

A great idea (keep in mind this works with Surveillance Station) - they just need to make it work.

I hope to be able to write a positive review in the future !

### 1/5 — Not very useful - crashes frequently

*2015-11-26, version 1.0.141013*

This app regularly shuts-down/crashes (on an iPad Mini 2 with iOS 9.1), so that kind of defeats the whole point of using it as a reliable surveillance camera (the purpose of this app), even temporarily or for special situations.

Add to that the fact that, on an iPad a great 5MP camera, this app only sends a 640x480 image (that’s 0.3MP), so very low resolution. There is also no motion detection of any kind in the app or the QNAP Surveillance Station, so aside from low-res live viewing, you can only manually record. And as for live viewing, on an Intel dual-core NAS/NVR, with a wired 1GB network from the NAS/NVR to my iMac (and fast full strength WiFi from the iPad), all with lots of power/resources/bandwidth to spare, there is a delay/lag of about 3.5 secs before you see it on the screen (QVR Client). And as this review is about this app, I’ll leave out the excessive bugs/problems with the QNAP Surveillance Station software, even though it is a necessary part of this whole system.

### 1/5 — Bad application from qnap

*2014-06-19, version 1.0*

This app is very vague in what it does. The English is broken and filled with spelling mistakes. Why would qnap publish an app this bad is beyond me.

### 2/5 — Too unstable and zooms image

*2015-07-16, version 1.0.141013*

Causes phone to overheat. Does not work consistently. Also zooms and crops the picture and isn't transmitting a HD picture. Great concept though I just wish it would work better.

### 3/5 — Simply does not work.

*2014-09-04, version 1.0.140630*

Interesting concept. Simply does not work.

iPhone 5S with latest update.
TS-219p QTS 4.1

Settings were good and accepted by SS.

On "Camera Overview" is idle with a green checkmark. Will update review with further testing
