## What is VedaVaani?

VedaVaaNi brings the sacred Vedic tradition to your fingertips — offering audio-synchronized chanting
of the Rig Veda and Krishna Yajurveda with a teleprompter that scrolls in step with the recitation.

 --Rig Veda
Explore all ten Mandalas of the Rig Veda with mantra-by-mantra audio playback. Choose between two
living recitation traditions — Sringeri and Kanchi — each faithful to its own regional Vedic school. The
Kanchi tradition uses a single continuous sukta recording with precise mantra boundary timestamps,
preserving the unbroken flow of Vedic chanting. Navigate freely between suktas, jump to any mantra, and
  loop for repeated practice.

--- Krishna Yajurveda (Taittiriya Samhita)

Chant the Taittiriya Samhita across all seven Kandas, the Taittiriya Brahmanam, and the Taittiriya
Aranyakam. Each section is paired with professionally recorded audio and a scrolling teleprompter that
tracks the current mantra in real time.

• Telugu — for Andhra and Telangana practitioners

### 4/5 — Fantastic initiative-sync and speed issues

*2026-04-29*

This is a fantastic initiative. Pranams for making the reach of vedas. On iOS, the speed selection does not change the speed and also the autoscroll does not quite sync with whats being chanted. It seems to be scrolling at a constant speed. Looking forward to annupdated version.

### 5/5 — Looping not working on iOS

*2026-04-07*

Thank you so much for making this available on iOS 🙏🏻 I noticed that on iOS the loopback system isn’t working correctly. Can you please take a look at? The app interface overall is top notch and highly intuitive..

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback. I'll address it in the next update.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-04-16

Added the Ashtaka-Adhaya View

### 1.1 — 2026-04-08

---
  Audio & Playback

  - Continuous playback — the player now automatically advances to the next sukta at the end of each sukta, across all mandalams,
  without manual intervention (both platforms)
  - Network resilience — transient connection failures now trigger automatic retry with exponential backoff (up to 5 retries, 3s
apart) instead of stopping playback (iOS)
  - Refined Kanchi boundaries — mantra boundary timestamps now align to the actual chanting onset rather than the preceding silence,
  improving seek accuracy

  ---
  Player UI

  - Teleprompter mode (Kanchi Patha) — the mantra list now glides smoothly like a teleprompter, scrolling at a velocity that keeps
the current mantra centred as audio plays, instead of snapping between cards
  - Auto-Scroll toggle — tap to freeze the teleprompter and read ahead; tap again to re-sync to the current position
  - Re-sync button — appears when you manually scroll away during playback; one tap snaps back to the active mantra
  - Text zoom — A− / A+ buttons in the player controls let you adjust mantra font size across five steps; preference is saved between
   sessions
  - Kanchi loop removed — per-mantra loop is only available in Sringeri mode where boundary precision supports it

  ---
  Content & Data

  - Deergha svarita — iOS database rebuilt from the authoritative source; all 10,442 mantras now carry correct long-svarita accents
  (U+1CDA) (iOS)
  - Navigation title — the player title updates live as playback auto-advances across suktas

  ---
  About / Credits

  - Voice credits — the About page now lists all recording contributors: S. Shyamsundar Ghanapaati and M. Satyakrishna Ghanapaati
(Sringeri Patha) and the Indian Institute of Scientific Heritage (Kanchi Patha) (iOS)
