### 1/5 — Scam

*2017-06-10*

You only get 4 dinner recipes free, the rest is $4.99/month!!

### 1/5 — Scam you only get 4 recipes

*2017-03-13*

Don't bother installing. You'll have to pay to get more than 4 recipes

### 1/5 — App doesn't open

*2017-02-10*

App just sits on load. Doesn't go past home page. At least it was free.

### 1/5 — Not if you are only wanting to trial.

*2016-09-19*

If you're only looking to trial a meal planner app to see which is best for you,I wouldn't recommend this one. The free version only gives you dinner recipes and only a small variety. There are other apps that will let you plan all your meals and snacks or free and then if you're happy with that app you can go ahead and pay for a personalised meal plan.

### 1/5 — Gimmick to buy app

*2015-12-20*

They need more free recipes if they want you to buy app

### 1/5 — Bad app

*2015-03-05*

Recipes cost money

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Don’t bother

*2020-12-03*

Can’t see anything unless you pay

**Developer response:** We're sorry to hear that you’re having a bad experience with our app. Your feedback is important to us and has been noted. In the meantime, I want to clarify that the app does have a free trial with MONTHLY subscription. So check that out if you want free access for 7 days to check the app out and see if you like it. The annual plan does not have a free trial. Consider changing your review since its inaccurate. Thank you.

### 1/5 — In app purchases

*2020-10-19*

You have to buy $13 plan before you can see any recipe

**Developer response:** Hi Vicky,
Thanks for the review, but please consider changing it. It's false. We offer a free trial with the monthly meal plan subscription. You don't have to pay ANYTHING at all unless you continue with the app AFTER the free 7 day trial. If you cancel BEFORE the free 7 days is up for any reason, you will not be charged. You get full access to everything in the app for free, for 7 days. Email me for questions regarding this and please change your rating, it's unfair since it's untrue. Thanks - my email: Kelly@HealthyHappySmart.com

### 1/5 — Change to a paid app in the App Store

*2019-12-02*

Before you can explore anything in the app, you have to subscribe to an auto-renewing payment plan. I have no idea how the app works or if it's worth the money since that's not an option. This is pretty deceptive making it "free" from the App Store

**Developer response:** Hi, please understand that the free trial gives you full access to everything in the app. That's why we provide that before you're charged a dime. You can decide during the free week if the app is a good or bad fit for you and then cancel anytime before the trial is over in your Appstore Settings to avoid being charged. If you have more questions, email me anytime! Please consider changing your review since we do not say the app is free, we clearly mention the price in the appstore description. Thank you!

### 1/5 — I don’t appreciate the tactics

*2019-10-30*

Free for a week but you have to sign up to see anything. No.

**Developer response:** Hi morgang48 - sorry you feel that way about our app. We put a lot of hard work into design and development for this app, that's why we charge for it. We also create a new balanced meal plan each week. Too much work to give away for free. Because we are transparent in the appstore description about this, we think we deserve a better rating than this. Thanks for your time.

### 1/5 — Several Non-vegetarian recipes

*2019-10-04*

Under the headings of vegetarian chili recipes, there were several non-vegetarian recipes, some with beef, some with chicken, at least one with pork.

I looked for a way to contact the developer from the app, but couldn’t find it, so I’m leaving this review, hoping this issue gets addressed

**Developer response:** Hello - I am unsure where you're seeing recipes with meat in them, this is completely untrue, could you please email me (maybe send screenshots): Kelly@HealthyHappySmart.com
Thanks.

### 1/5 — Immediately uninstalled

*2019-09-30*

I thought the whole marketing technique of “sign up and give us all your information” and then “oh by the way you have to pay to use anything” tactic was over. Apparently not.

I gave them my name, email, body weight, and age, and was ready to look at some recipes. I was suddenly hit with a “Try free for a week!” button and had access to nothing. If it costs anything to use the app, just make it up front and charge to download the app. Please don’t make me go through the process of putting in all my information to find out it’s not free.

I understand app developers need to make money, but please don’t do it this way. Make premium features/recipes or something.

**Developer response:** Hello Christiann96 - thanks for reaching out. We do put a lot of hard work into design and development for this app, that's why we charge for it. It's also not just a recipe app but a meal plan app, with NEW balanced meal plans each week that I have to create. Too much work to give away for free. Because we are transparent in the appstore description about the price, we think we deserve a better rating than this. By the way, we've tried other payment strategies and this one works the best for us. Thanks for your time.

### 1/5 — Poor UI, ported from Android, forced subscription

*2019-05-04*

They don’t let you use the app unless you subscribe to the $9.99 a month plan. The ui is crappy and it’s a buggy experience overall. It’s laughable how they think they deserve $9.99 a month. I’d give zero stars if I could.

### 1/5 — Don’t bother downloading

*2018-10-02*

You can’t see any recipes without first agreeing to a regular payment (which, in my opinion, is very expensive at $13 a month. I could buy a magazine for less). Only the first week is free. I’m simply not prepared to commit to ongoing payments when I haven’t even seen what I’m buying. Bad taste in my opinion. Let the consumer know before they download that they’ll have to commit to payments.

### 1/5 — Not worth it!

*2018-06-16*

This app has limited vegetarian recipes, terrible photos of the food, a bad interface and is insanely overpriced. I felt insulted after I downloaded it. Garbage!

### 1/5 — Limited

*2017-09-21*

One recipe a day unless you subscribe to the monthly plan of $9.99. Also does not list protein, carb and fat grams. Very limited. Not worth the $$.

## Most praised reviews (6 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Quick, easy, tasty recipes

*2014-05-10*

This app is easy to use and features healthy, delicious, simple recipes complete with a shopping list. This app makes meal planning for a healthy lifestyle easy. I especially like that I can see an entire week of meals and then save recipes to favorites. Works great on my iPad and iPhone too!

### 5/5 — Perfection

*2014-03-03*

This app is exactly what I was looking for! The recipes are mouth-watering. It's simple to use and understand. My favorite feature is the little shopping cart you can touch on each recipe you're interested in making and it will generate one shopping list for you. My poor kids are going to be bummed we won't be eating out anymore!

### 4/5 — Not For iPad

*2020-09-08*

I cant turn it sideways on my iPad for a better more wide spread view. It would be better, i cant hold my iPad upright cause of the keyboard. I have to remove my case and put it on a stand so I can follow the recipes. Being picky about. With my dyslexia it’s hard to read unless i have a large screen.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback, we will take that into consideration with a future update.

### 4/5 — It’s great, but

*2020-05-23*

I just think it’s a bit too expensive. Aside from that the app is actually great. It’s user friendly and very practical.

**Developer response:** Hello, thank you for your feedback. We try to stay in a range comparable to our competitors, and that's where we're at. We also are releasing an update soon with a new annual option that is significantly cheaper - $29.99/year vs $9.99/mo. Contact Apple Support about your billing and payment if you decide to change to that in the future when we release the update. I am thinking a week or 2 and it will be out. Thanks!

### 3/5 — App issues

*2019-12-14*

I signed up for the app. And I think the developer is misinterpreting what the customers are saying in the review of the app. No one expects you to give away your app for free. I don’t mind paying a premium or subscription for the app. But it is not upfront. You download the app, sign up putting info in then it asks for a trial and to pay for it. Out of pure curiosity I did so. Not know exactly what the inside of the app looks like only seen a few pics before downloading. Once I signed up for the app and subscription I did not get access to the recipes/meal plans. It would stay on that screen. I closed out the app and restarted it, then it made me put in my info again and try to subscribe again. I ended up deleting, but I would still like to use the app. Hopefully the developer doesn’t write the people off that are mentioning the issue and try to make the app more understandable on what it would like for their customers to do.

**Developer response:** Hmm, I see what you might be saying but we do mention the price in the appstore description, so we are upfront and honest about it before you even download the app. If you're having trouble getting access to the app, this is an appstore issue, I can help you out if you contact me by email (Kelly@HealthyHappySmart.com) - forward me the receipt that Apple sent you and that way I will have a better chance of helping you. Thanks! Email me!!

### 3/5 — Recipes good. App needs work

*2016-06-12*

There's the $1.99 subscription cost which is not terrible as long as the recipes keep updating.

There is no account to sign into so if you have on a phone it won't sync with an iPad. And no website. You can use it on multiple devices but you need to manually update your selections on each device separately.

A list for each day's meals would be a good option. The pictures are nice, but I'd like to see a list.

There is no nutritional or calorie information so you will need to input the recipes into a separate app for that.

There is no way that I found to print a recipe. You can email a picture of it.
