It’s disappointing that the links to articles/blog posts under each daily video don’t work though. I’d love to be able to click on them! ### 3/5 — Good for beginners *2022-01-31, version 1.1.2* Good app for beginners, I’ve been Vegan for around 8yrs now and find this app doesn’t really cater for that. However if you are new it’s great! ### 2/5 — Unable to open links *2021-10-15, version 1.1.2* I am unable to open any of the links in the green box underneath the daily videos while using my iPad. Eg . Meal Planning or This article about the horrors of the dairy industry. If I was able to do that I think that I would rate the app a five star. Presently can only give it a two. ### 4/5 — Fun & Informative *2021-05-07, version 1.1.0* A fun and informative app! The 30 day challenge is a great support when transitioning to a vegan diet. At least copy website stuff for the app! ### 2/5 — Basic and underdeveloped *2020-06-26, version 1.0.9* As a life-long veggie and budding vegan, I was seriously disappointed in this app. It has very little information in it that an average person wouldn’t already know, and it treats the user like a child. However, I didn’t enjoy the daily quiz: it was irritating that it is a multiple-choice and you have to keep repeating it until you’ve got all 3 questions correct in order to progress to the rest of the app. I don’t want to have to do that first thing in the morning, and I don’t really care if the Vegan Society was founded in 1955, 1988 or 1991 (see? I still don’t know. I have learnt nothing). Often the links back to the Vegan Society website were no longer working. Finally, the recipes were just not that inspiring. They seemed a bit dated, and compared to Instagram photos, they look unprofessional and uninspiring. Oh, and the layout is clunky. The day page doesn’t fit on the screen so you have to scroll down. Sorry. I feel a bit mean, but honest feedback is sometimes needed. ### 1/5 — Great app but faulty *2019-10-26, version 1.0.4* The idea behind the app, and the recipes and ideas given are all good. But after having the app for about a month and trying to go back to look at the recipes, when I open the app it’s completely blank. Tried reinstalling it but problem persists. Really frustrating as I’d like to cook one of the recipes given. Otherwise would give 4 stars ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Crashes all the time. *2022-10-08, version 2.0.0* The app stopped working after 3 days. Installed again and it crashed again. All data disappeared. ### 1/5 — Preachy, patronising and annoying *2022-09-04, version 2.0.0* I was hoping for an easy way to access vegan recipes and hints/tip but was greeted with a proselytising diatribe that seemed to want to effect a religious conversion of someone who had wanted to move towards veganism. As annoying as those vegans who announce within seconds of meeting them, their preferences as a challenge. Put me right off. ### 1/5 — Needs more work *2021-06-28, version 1.1.0* Daily quiz are informative however if you have an incorrect answer the box informing you covers the progression button so you have to back into the menu and back to the daily quiz. Correctly getting the equestrians right gives you a free recipe however this is a tad bit silly as surely have a few recipes for people to start the transition would be more beneficial. Deleted!!!! There’s loads of recipes on The Vegan Society’s website too. I like how VeGuide caters to individual preferences (vegan for the animals, planet, health). Thanks The Vegan Society! ### 5/5 — Very helpful for first time vegans *2020-11-04, version 1.0.9* I found this app very interesting, the videos were a little irritating. But you get small quizzes which test your knowledge and then additional info and money off at certain vegan online shops. Very interesting for first time vegans and as you complete the questions etc, a sunflower grows. I liked this so much I wish they’d make a more advanced version for people who have been vegan for a while. ### 5/5 — Updated *2020-05-28* The app has been updated and now works. It is a good resource for going vegan, the only recommendation I would give is to make the recipes simpler. There are also recipes, quizzes and occasional discounts. The recipes are the let down to thus app ### 5/5 — Success *2020-01-21, version 1.0.5* I loved the use of video and checking in daily for new videos, I felt this was a great way to keep me engaged and worked so much better than previous 30day vegan challenges which just get you to read articles. I found the quizzes interesting and learned a lot (despite already feeling that I’d done a lot of research). I did find it a little irritating that you’d have to redo the quiz to unlock things if you got something wrong and it sometimes was repetitive, but that’s all. I also wasn’t a fan of the recipes but as an educational tool, I found it really helpful Watching the sunflower grow was really motivating! Since, the power it had on me started to die down and I found myself starting to not really care about it anymore. However, thanks to this app I managed to refind my motivation and the reasons I started in the first place, and for that I thank you.
