## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App not working

*2019-09-29*

The app stop working after updating to iOS 13.1
Help

**Developer response:** The latest updates should have addressed the issues created by the iOS 13 updates.

### 1/5 — Looks nice - not worth $

*2018-10-04, version 3.0.5*

This app generates a spreadsheet by category but really does not do anything to help manage your vehicle. It is a report only.

### 1/5 — Bare bones

*2018-06-01*

I was expecting to at least keep track of mileage and see when maintenance items would be due. This doesn’t even do that. Hoping the developer adds this feature. I could have just used Notes to do the same thing this app does.

### 1/5 — Limited Feature

*2017-07-15*

There are other free apps that are better than this one. Very limited feature. You've been warned.

**Developer response:** Not sure what "you've been warned" is supposed to mean, however I'm glad you found a different solution that works for your particular needs case.

### 1/5 — Rip off

*2016-12-10*

Rip off, total waste of money. Entered first vehicle details, and that's it, could not get any further.
This app should be removed from listings.

### 2/5 — Look elsewhere

*2020-06-06*

Not impressed with this app. It’s missing extremely basic functionality like landscape mode, copy/paste (why do I have to manually type in the entire VIN?), etc. It needs serious work to be useful.

**Developer response:** We're sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the App as it's entire purpose was to simplify basic record keeping and not complicate it with unnecessary options. The lack of utilizing the landscape format was a design decision and one we're always reevaluating for future releases.

With relation to your comment regarding the VIN number, we'd love to hear your thoughts pertaining to it's functionality. We're not aware of any database that we'd be able to easily query simply from the make and model of your vehicle, especially for something that's neither a required field nor fundamental to the functionality of the App.

We will however need to look into why the copy/paste functionality isn't working as expected.

### 2/5 — Need edit

*2019-08-26*

Haven’t figured out how to edit an incorrect entry or how to delete a vehicle you might have sold

**Developer response:** Swiping left on the table entry will provide you with 2 options; Edit and Delete. This applies to both the vehicle listings as well as the individual service entries.

### 2/5 — Overcharging

*2017-11-18*

This app says the cost is $1.99 but when you tap to buy it charges $5.27

### 2/5 — Too basic

*2017-10-08*

It has no reminder alerts to perform service. It doesn’t pull the actual maintenance schedule for your car into the app.
It doesn’t do anything except record service that has occurred.

**Developer response:** The App is defined as a maintenance log, not a replacement for consulting your owners manual for service intervals specific to your particular vehicle and driving conditions.

### 2/5 — App needs much improvement

*2016-02-26*

Very clean and seek design. Simple to use, however needs more then just 6 categories to file services . Maybe a misc, filters, windshield wipers, and electrical categories just to name a few.

**Developer response:** v3.0 is currently waiting on release from the AppStore, with a total of 14 service areas including a Miscellaneous section for those random service concerns. v3.0 also now includes cost details for each service entry, as well as localization for my European users.

### 5/5 — Exactly what I needed and was looking for.

*2019-11-02, version 4.0.2*

I was looking for simple to use but flexible maintenance log to replace the paper version that I keep in my vehicles. This fit the bill perfectly. It tracks miles, dates, service descriptions, cost, and who did the work. This is what I want to track. Service description can be brief or detailed and can be edited after the fact. This is so superior to the paper log I’ve been keeping.

LIKES:
1. Flexible description field.
2. Editable entries.
3. Can sort by miles, dates, or just look at type of service. Avoids costly duplication of services already performed. Quick, convenient.
4. Saves money by avoiding duplication of routine maintenance services too often.
5. I like the fact that I can update the log anytime, anywhere instead of having to find the paper book as before.
6. I like the export or email a CSV file report.
7. No harassment to upgrade and no pesky ads. For the price of an expensive candy bar ($1.99) I get the full version. Of course it’s s a gamble. If you don’t like it you just burned $1.99.

WISH LIST
1. It would be nice if it had a box or some fields in the vehicle description screen where I could list specs and details about the vehicle. For example, I like to see a quick reference to tire pressure, recommended oil, recommended oil change intervals, warranty time periods, and even capacities. Perhaps the fields would be user definable so each user could define for themselves what they deem important to have quick reference to. As a work around, I have created zero mileage entries to show the specs and intervals that I want quick reference to. As zero mileage entries they can always show up at the top.
2. Reminders for routine maintenance like oil changes or transmission service might be nice but I’m not too concerned about not having this feature. I have other apps that do reminders and it seems like I always have a backlog of “To Do” items. I start to ignore the reminders because I always am being reminded of something that needs maintenance.
3. I’ve discovered that you can’t correct the miles or the category once you log the service. Not a big issue but a few times I have had to delete and renter the item because I wanted to correct the category or the mileage. For example, I put, “Replaced the cabin air filter” under Ventilation instead of under Filters. (I’m still not sure where I want to put it). I had to delete the whole entry and reenter it again. Not a big deal. It’s very simple to delete and reenter. What is the ventilation category for anyway? Perhaps it’s for AC recharges.

### 5/5 — Not work

*2019-09-30*

Application does not work what happened ???

**Developer response:** The latest updates should have addressed the issues created by the iOS 13 updates.

### 5/5 — Great App Very Useful

*2019-09-06*

You edit an entry with and easy swipe. Other review incorrect. Been using this app for a long time and have been in contact with the developer who means well for his work and his customers.

### 5/5 — Vehicle Maintenance Log (Scarnegie)

*2016-11-19, version 2.5*

This is a high quality App designed & supported by a savy developer. It's simple & easy & fun to use. Especially useful tracking Service & Maintenance when you have more than one Vehicle. (reviewed by Autocounsel, Nov 2016)

### 4/5 — Good app for all my vehicle maintenance records

*2019-10-04*

This is my go to app for vehicle maintenance records. Thankfully it was just updated to iOS 13!!!!

### 4/5 — Rev

*2016-08-21*

This is a decent app easy to use however I would like the to add a category for other miscellaneous notes , and a category for wipers or accessories.

**Developer response:** v3.0 is currently waiting on release from the AppStore, with 2 additional service areas including a Miscellaneous section for those random service concerns. v3.0 also now includes cost details for each service entry, as well as localization for my European users.

### 4/5 — Great App

*2016-06-22*

The app works perfectly and helps me to keep up with many different vehicles I maintain. The only thing missing is a Miscellaneous category so I can keep up and make notes on little things about each vehicle. (Ex. Windshield Wipers, Waxed, etc. )

**Developer response:** v3.0 is currently waiting on release from the AppStore, with 2 additional service areas including a Miscellaneous section for those random service concerns. v3.0 also now includes cost details for each service entry, as well as localization for my European users.

### 3/5 — Not working

*2019-10-14*

After adding 2 vehicles, I no longer could save information for more vehicles. I would like a refund

**Developer response:** We have been unable to reproduce the issue you are having with only being able to save the information for 2 vehicles. If you still have the App installed (we realize this is an older post) we'd love to have you repeat the steps you took so that we could attempt to reproduce and address that issue.
