Vela develops an ordinary photo of you into the warm, flash-lit look of a compact camera. One style, done properly. There are no sliders, no filters and nothing to choose. You pick a photo, you wait a few seconds, and it comes back the way a night out used to look on a small camera: warm light, a bright flash, the background falling softly away, and you still looking like you. HOW IT WORKS 1. Pick a photo from your library. 2. Wait a few seconds while it develops. 3. Save it, share it, or keep it to yourself. THE LINE Every photo you develop is kept in a gallery on your iPhone with the original beside it. Drag The Line across any of them and the before and the after sit in the same frame, so you can see exactly what changed. YOUR PHOTOS STAY ON YOUR PHONE There is no account and nothing to sign up for. Vela works the moment it opens. Your library is never browsed or uploaded: the one photo you choose is sent to be developed, nothing is kept afterwards, and both the original and the finished photo live only on your device. THE COLLECTION A few photographs from the people who use Vela, sent to us by the people in them and credited to them by name. You can watch the develop happen on a real face before you try it on your own. SUBSCRIPTION Developing your photos requires a Vela subscription, weekly or annual. The price for your country is shown in the app before you subscribe. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless it is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and the renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the period ends.
