## What is Vela Xtream?

Vela is a fast, private player for your own IPTV subscription, signed in with an Xtream login or an M3U playlist.

Bring the login or playlist your provider gave you and Vela turns it into a library you can actually navigate: categories you can filter and favourite, a TV guide for your channels, and playback that handles the formats other players choke on.

• Signs in with an Xtream login, or an M3U or M3U8 playlist by link or from Files, with its XMLTV guide
• A TV guide grid: your channels against the clock, wherever your provider publishes listings
• Search that finds it as you type: partial words, actors, genres (Vela Pro)
• Picks that learn what you like, worked out on your device and never uploaded (Vela Pro)
• Categories you can search and star, not just scroll
• Plays what iOS normally cannot: Matroska, AVI, HEVC, AC3 and DTS audio
• Subtitle and audio track selection
• Picture in Picture, AirPlay and background audio
• Cast to your TV: AirPlay, Google Cast and DLNA TVs, with your phone as the remote
• Continue Watching, recently watched channels, favourites, and next-episode playback
• In 12 languages: English, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Turkish, Japanese, Korean and Chinese
• Credentials kept in the iOS Keychain, on your device

Vela includes no content, no channels and no provider. You need an existing subscription with a provider: an Xtream-compatible login or an M3U playlist.

Vela Pro unlocks search, recommendations with a match score on every title, and playback without breaks. A 14-day free trial starts when you sign in; after that, Pro is USD 2.99 per month or USD 14.99 per year, or USD 29.99 once with Vela Pro Lifetime. Without Pro, browsing and playback stay free, and playback pauses for a moment every 10 minutes.

Vela Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, billed monthly or yearly. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. It renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings after purchase.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.6.0 — 2026-10-22

• Vela is now on Apple TV. Home opens on your top pick, every poster shows how well it matches you, and the Siri Remote changes channel, with the picks worked out on the TV itself (Vela Pro). One Vela Pro covers iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV.
• Vela Pro Monthly: all of Vela Pro a month at a time, beside the yearly plan and Vela Pro Lifetime. Choose on the Pro screen.

### 1.5.0 — 2026-10-20

• Every title now has a full page, led by your match: the score and the parts of your taste it rests on, worked out on your device (Vela Pro). Below it are cast and crew, release, rating and country from your provider, and the picture, sound, languages and subtitles its stream carries.
• Vela now speaks Arabic, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Turkish, Japanese, Korean and Chinese, as well as English, Spanish and Russian. Change it any time in Account > Language.
• Vela Pro Lifetime: all of Vela Pro, from the recommendations to search and playback without breaks, for one payment instead of a yearly subscription.
• Smoother: switching providers shows its progress instead of freezing, Refresh spins until your library is up to date, and a stream shows a loader in place of the play button while it starts.
• Changing channels no longer flashes an error before the next one plays.

### 1.4.0 — 2026-10-17

• Cast to your TV: tap Play On in the player and pick an AirPlay, Google Cast or DLNA TV on your Wi-Fi. Your phone becomes the remote: pause, seek, change channel, set the TV's volume, or bring it back to the phone where the TV left off.
• Vela now speaks Spanish and Russian: every screen, from sign-in to the player, the TV guide and Vela Pro, follows your iPhone or iPad's language. Change it any time in Account > Language.
• Recently Watched: your last channels on Home and at the top of Live TV, one tap to play.
• Remove anything from Recently Watched, Continue Watching and Favourites, one at a time or all at once.
• Full screen: one tap turns the player on its side; double-tap the picture to fit or fill. Live channels can open full screen, like a TV.
• On a Mac, larger posters and sheets sized to the window.
• Fixes: a film whose connection drops partway now reconnects and carries on instead of closing, and channels from some M3U playlists that stopped with "Operation Stopped" now play.

### 1.3.0 — 2026-10-15

• Sign in with a plain M3U or M3U8 playlist: paste its link, or import the file from Files. Add an XMLTV guide link, plain or gzipped, or Vela reads the guide the playlist names.
• Live TV, the TV guide grid, favourites and Continue Watching work with a playlist as they do with an Xtream login. A playlist gives each film and series a title and a poster; plot and cast come with Xtream.
• Search and recommendations cover a playlist's channels, films and series. Part of Vela Pro.
• Account shows where a playlist and its guide come from and what was read, and refreshes both.
• A get.php link still signs in as Xtream, with film and series details, and can be read as a plain playlist instead.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-10-11

• Better picks: the Picked for You rows now put the other films in a franchise first, follow shared actors and directors, keep to the language you watch in, and show each title once, however many copies your provider carries. Anything you have watched, in any copy, stays off them. Part of Vela Pro.
• More Like This now finds films by the actors in them. Vela fetches the cast of the films it is about to recommend from your provider, one at a time in the background, and never while you are watching. Part of Vela Pro.
• The rows turn over every hour, let go of anything shown to you for days that you never opened, and are ready sooner after launch on large libraries. Part of Vela Pro.
• A steadier player: the menu no longer flickers while open, and the new scrubber lands where you let go. Both keep the controls on screen while you use them.
• Small fixes and improvements.
