### 2/5 — Ring Keeps Dying

*2026-01-29*

Here’s a new update: now a few months into wearing this ring every day I’m still unimpressed with the lack of updating ring data and connection to the app, the speed & time it takes to always reconnect to the ring and process the data, and now the battery life is a problem! I used to wear the ring no problem throughout the night (7-8hrs?), put it on the charger when I woke up and do my morning routine. And after 45 min I could take the ring and go about the my normal day. Repeat this charging style and it was great! Maybe it’s the weather with how cold it is, but the battery now only lasts about 4 hours as I’m measuring the last few days. Very disappointed.

**Developer response:** Hi there! Your ring is not performing as expected. If you reach out to our support team at hello@veliaring.com, we can help and look into your specific case

### 2/5 — Won’t record data anymore

*2026-01-27*

I got my ring in November and it worked ok for the first month. But now it’s like the ring doesn’t hold any data or the app will connect to the ring and no matter how many times I double tap, it won’t sync data. Which as a user amounts to the same result— my data isn’t being tracked/gathered. All I see is how much battery the ring has and nothing else. It’s like my data was never recorded.

I would love to have a way to 1. Do a hard sync without the double tap — which I used to be able to do from the app before the double tap feature update and 2. Have a way to be able to diagnose if there is an issue with the ring itself. With everything so app dependent there doesn’t really seem to be any way to know where in the line of data collection that something is going wrong.

To be clear, I have done all the resets I can think of- deleting and reloading the app, resyncing the ring, making sure all updates have been done, making sure the ring is 100% charged. Nothing fixes it.

### 2/5 — No longer displays data

*2026-01-01, version 1.0.38*

Following the last 2 updates the ring no longer syncs to the phone easily, the data does not display, and there seems to be no back up at all. Prior iterations were superior.

### 2/5 — Logging out

*2025-12-05, version 1.0.38*

App seems to log out every time and sync happens after logging in. It’s too much of overhead as the user should not be logged out

### 2/5 — Not there yet.

*2025-11-17, version 1.0.36*

I’m getting 23 or 24 hours before a charge, but long before that the app says I need to charge it to synch to the App. The App looks good but has poor functionality. Today after charging my ring when it was at %18 I put it on and ALL my data had gone! TheApp was a clean slate. It definitely does not accurately synch steps, I’ve tried it against five other counters. Two garmin, one Aura ring, my Apple Watch, and two pure usb step counters, they were all within %5 of the mean but at 500 steps the ring always reads about 250! I can’t trust it. The charge lasting so short a time is a pain. I definitely think they could have made the charging pick into a mini power bank so you could charge it and go away for maybe three days without wires. Although I do concede if I’m away I need a usb charger anyway for other tech. Putting the ring on the charger is hit and miss, sometimes it goes in charging mode, but half the time I’m lifting off the ring and trying it the other side and then back again after maybe five attempts it will start charging. It does charge quickly but given you can’t really go a reliable 24 hrs it’s moot. I hope future firmware updates will address some of this. Have Velia been under so much pressure they have succumbed and rolled them out a couple of months early? After waiting years from kickstarter I wouldn’t have minded another couple of months! Yes it is small, it is comfortable but that counts for nothing if it won’t count something as simple as steps. But putting it on the charger and losing all my data since I got the ring really peed me off. When I compare the sleep readings against my Apple Watch synched to the Apple health app it seems a lot different. I’m an insomniac and rarely get to sleep before four am or later but the app says “you’ve got great sleep”! Three hours isn’t great sleep and the ring has logged 11 hours of sleep!!!!
Finally I want to be able to update firmware from the unreliable App! If it worked well, with its form factor and if the nice looking app was reliable this would be a great piece of kit. Oh and longer battery life. I’m worried they will take all the feedback and alter the ring and charger and us loyal since kickstarter will be left with an unreliable bit of plastic.

As an update it’s 2300 hrs here on Saturday and I’ve just looked at the app which wiped all me readings is now showing readings for today, steps still off by a mile but somehow it’s completely recorded by some juju all of Sundays (tomorrows) readings…. How it’s not tomorrow yet lol.

Just as an afterthought I don’t think Apple will approve Velia on the health app. The answer is simple. Apple are not making a ring of their own because it would put the two wearables at odds,
The ring and watch!!
They won’t release a ring because it will eat into their watch sales and for the same reason they won’t allow Velia connectivity to the Health App!!!

### 2/5 — App won’t sync

*2025-11-12*

This is a review of just the app and not the ring.

Tl;dr - with the current issues, I find the app nearly unsuable. 2 stars because it isn’t fake, but it’s not good.

Sync Issues - My Velia has only successfully synced a handful of times. The team has added a “tap twice” feature to the ring to get it to sync to save battery life on the ring. Since doing so, my ring has only synced data twice. It usually times out before syncing.

Constant disconnects - my ring disconnects from the app constantly. 3 times in a week I’ve had to reconnect it to the app by putting it on the charger. This contributes to the syncing issues I’m sure.

App has to be open to do anything - I’d expect a background sync, but that won’t work. Firmware updates require the app to stay open and phone close to the ring. Syncing requires the same.

The UI is pretty. Basic is fine, I like the design over a lot of competitors.

I can’t see trends because it blocks the ability to do so until it has two months of data.

Overall, the app feels buggy and unfinished, not just unpolished. I’m hopeful Velia will improve. But at the rate it took to simply get the ring to market, I’m worried they won’t have the cash to get over hurdles before they burn out. I honestly hope they are successful and can make meaningful improvements. I’ll update my review as and if I see them.

### 2/5 — Not good yet, new update not an improvement

*2025-11-10*

Update; since the last app update, I'm having a lot of trouble syncing my ring to the app, and the double tap rarely works, even if I repeat. Dropping my rating of the app to 2 stars from 4. Wish there was a way to give feedback and ask questions of the app developer - does not look as though they come here.
First review: Earlier reviews are very negative, I was worried that I'd have the same experience but it's working for me. A few glitches here and there but I didn't mind reclicking and now with the tapping it seems to sync well. I wish there was an app guide, I don't always understand what I'm looking at. Also wish I could adjust the sleep start - invariably it has me sleeping before I actually fall asleep, even if I get up briefly. It takes me a while to fall asleep, and I often read in bed.

### 1/5 — Good Intentions but Poor Execution

*2025-11-10, version 1.0.36*

I really had high expectations from these guys after being a kickstarter investor and waiting so long.

I am on my second ring! The first required charging 2 times a day. The second arrived a few days ago and also requires daily charging and does not even sync any data.

I have tried everything to reset/disconnect/reinstall everything but nothing seems to work.

Apart from the ring the whole UI experience needs improving - poor UI, no integration into Apple HealthKit, so long waiting to sync data - even charging the ring is an exercise in patience and requires precise placement on its charger (which feels very low quality plastic).

Unfortunately this really is not Swiss engineering and precision, the user experience is poor and the battery life unworkable.

As a kickstarter investor I want this to succeed but so far am really disappointed and will likely move to another product.

### 1/5 — Cant log in

*2025-11-06, version 1.0.36*

I don’t know what this app or ring is trying to achieve with such poor sync, app, metrics are all suboptimal

### 2/5 — Glitchy and basic

*2025-11-04*

I was an original kickstarter backer and waited more than 2 years for my ring. It finally came, I charged it up for several hours, and then wore it to bed that night. By morning, I was down to less than 10% battery. This ring is advertised as having a battery that lasts 24-72 hours but I’m only getting 12 or so before I have to charge it so that it doesn’t die overnight. Now let’s move to the app. It’s glitchy. It takes FOREVER to sync to the ring and I usually have to sync it 2-3 times before it actually displays or updates my data. Finally, the ring seems accurate for sleep- it is within 10 minutes or so of my Oura, however for calorie or step tracking it’s woefully inadequate. My Oura ring and Apple Watch match with calories and steps, but Velia shows me maybe 1/10th the steps and calories of my other devices.

That being said- this is a brand new device. It probably has months of firmware upgrades ahead of it and I expect it to work better then. I also know it needs to learn my body. When that happens, I will update my review.

I also backed Ozlo sleep buds and they were hella glitchy for 90 days or so but after a couple of updates it’s been smooth sailing. I expect the same result with Velia.

### 2/5 — Keep those app updates coming!

*2025-11-02*

I’m so happy to get my ring as a backer of the kickstarter program. Velia, you need a forum other than app reviews to collect feedback from the beta users as a community. The contact developer link doesn’t work.
-App does not track naps or going back to bed if you wake up too early.
-App tracks laying in bed reading emails in the morning as REM
-It is challenging that the ring to have to be in a very specific position on the charger to charge and sync. I wear a size 6 and even with my glasses it’s hard to see the tiny velia logo on the inside to line it up with the dot. I wish the logo was red or something to stand out.
-Measurements keep reverting to metric after I change them. I’m in the US.
-Green LED lights are very bright when I’m trying to sleep, which is okay but I don’t understand why I don’t see the lights during the day. I don’t see red or blue lights which were advertised as being programmable (e.g. high heart rate alert) with the kickstarter campaign
-Battery life isn’t good but I know you are working on this and have faith it will improve.

The ring is comfortable to wear and stylish. If you can get the tech working well like your competitors, including getting the BP tracking working as originally planned, you will be successful. Please set up an open line of communication with your backers so your product team knows which bugs/enhancements to prioritize.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App is buggy, so is the associated hardware

*2026-08-03*

I’ve been using this app and the Velia smart ring for several months now. The device sync is buggy, often requiring multiple syncs to retrieve the data. Additionally, the device battery life has dropped significantly in the last month, from as long as 20 hours down to just a few hours. Tonight, I took the ring off the charger at 11pm, and by 11:35pm the app said the ring had lost 52% of the battery charge. At that rate, the ring will only last around 1 hour on a charge, which makes capturing sleep data impossible. This feels like a software/firmware issue, as a lithium battery should have many more cycles left in it before it even hits below 80% efficiency. Velia Support has been very little help. They approved device replacement, but many original backers have yet to receive their initial ring from the company. Seems very sketchy.

### 1/5 — Battery won’t last 24hrs

*2026-06-10*

Not sure what happened but the ring went from nearly 2 full days of battery (which only improved to that after a firmware update) on one charge to only about 18hrs. It’s only been a few months of wearing it. I’ve also lost data many times because the ring does not do any kind of syncing as background service. You have to manually do it, ridiculous. Still won’t connect to Apple health app. It keeps a blood pressure (relative) reading with no idea what it’s even relevant to so it provides exact zero value. I really wanted to like this. Want my money back.

### 1/5 — Can’t create account. Support hasn’t responded to email

*2026-04-12, version 1.0.43*

After waiting years for our rings, they arrived but we can’t set them up due to issues with the app. I contacted support 5 days ago and have not received a response.

### 1/5 — Still waiting

*2026-03-02*

My husband got us both one from kickstarter. Mine finally came in the fall and he’s still waiting for his. In this time, I feel like I’ve mostly talked about its potential and how nice it looks but I’m still waiting to see any data from it, let alone benefits. The battery lasts much less than I need, and the app barely gets my data.
Been trying to update the app for the last week and to gets stuck at 19% download every single time, even if I wait for 10+ minutes.
As I see more and more ads on oura rings, really hoping they get their act together to be able to compete.

**Developer response:** Hi. We're sorry you've had this experience. We've started to ship rings again, so hopefully your husband will receive his soon.

Re your ring getting stuck at 19%, try to factory reset your ring and try again. If this still doesn't work, reach out to our customer support team on hello@veliaring.com, and they can take a closer look at your ring, as it may not be performing as expected.

### 1/5 — Redesigned app experience?

*2026-02-27, version 1.0.40*

Literally made a visual update without any actual experience improvements. It’s a joke. Hire people who know how to design health software.

### 1/5 — Blood pressure

*2026-02-21*

I was lead to believe the ring would measure blood pressure. I bought a knock off that does most of this ring plus blood pressure
I waited 2 years and it doesn’t do the thing I bought the ring for. I feel a bit cheated

Update
I am even more disappointed that the ring can only stay charged for about 4 hours
The double tap rarely connects to the app
And no updates for firmware or app has been forthcoming
I am enormously disappointed in what I have received. I was so excited to back this project. And the two year delay was hard but I expected that was to make sure it worked. Well color me a Moron

**Developer response:** We're really sorry you've had this experience. It sounds like your ring is not performing as expected - if you reach out to our customer support team on hello@veliaring.com, they can take a look at your specific case.

With regard to Blood Pressure - we can now provide Blood Pressure Variation which tells you if your BP is rising or falling over time. Providing absolute BP values requires medical approval from regulators, so it’s something we’re considering and approaching carefully. We do have a new 'Vascular Health' feature, which helps you to understand how your vascular system is performing over time, helping you spot patterns, recognise meaningful changes early, and take informed action for your long-term health.

### 1/5 — Would give 0 stars if an option

*2026-01-12*

I waiting almost two years for this ring. Very disappointed with ring and app. Need to charge everyday and cannot load any information to the app. Complete waste of money in my option. I have small hands and the our ring looks funny on my hand but I may be getting that now.

### 1/5 — Nothing short of fraud

*2025-12-26, version 1.0.38*

Took YEARS to receive this ring and the battery won’t hold a charge rendering the device useless. It’s not even a nice looking ring. Kickstarter trash.

### 1/5 — Each app revision seems worse

*2025-12-14, version 1.0.38*

I’ve been using the ring now for a couple months, and each revision of the app seems to get worse. First it got slower, then they removed the option to manually sync data once the ring is connected. The “double tap to sync” feature never seems to work, so I would have to go into the ring settings in the app and tap on “sync data”… except in the revision from a week ago, they removed this option. It’s very frustrating. That, coupled with the ring only having around 28-30 hours of battery life, it’s not been great experience. I get that the ring itself is more a “proof of concept” that their technology works, and that licensing this tech is really more of their goal, but still. The app is clunky and slow.

### 1/5 — App unusable

*2025-11-28*

The app is horrible for so many reasons. The ring is fine it seems. It can’t sync well even after syncing update. Can’t update the metrics like HR. Details within it are wrong like it asked me if I wanted 24 hour time and I said no but 24 hour time still shows up in some places. Can’t easily look at trends. So much is wrong. Hopefully they understand that this app is no where near where it needs to be.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Offers what it promises

*2026-06-10*

Not the most sophisticated App but it does what it advertised and simple enough to use without any instructions/help. Will add/update more after a month of collecting and processing ring data - it’s just fair 🤌🏻

### 4/5 — Improved!

*2026-06-25*

3rd update to my review - my ring stopped charging and they determined it was defective(possibly the cause of earlier troubles). They honored the warranty and sent me a new ring, I can't say enough about the great customer service. The app is working well, the new ring is working - updating my stars. Still hoping actual blood pressure comes someday. 2nd update to my original review - recent update is much better, syncing is faster and the blood pressure trend stat is a good start. But please, please! Put the ability to manually fix the start time for sleep. The ring thinks I'm sleeping (deep!) when reading at night, and last night thought I went to bed 2 hours later than when I fell asleep. Seems an easy fix, just add a button to let us fix that start time!!

**Developer response:** Hi! Yes we do come here.

You can now change your sleep start and end times from the Sleep vital on the 'Day' tab - you'll see a button beside your sleep duration times where you can change them.

It does sound like there are issues with your ring, especially if you still have a lot of trouble syncing with the new app. If you contact our support team on hello@veliaring.com, they can take a look at your ring.

### 4/5 — Updates really helping

*2026-03-05, version 1.0.41*

Recent updates from the original app have dramatically improved the overall experience. Ring firmware update has also extended battery life and almost entirely solved the connection issues.

### 4/5 — Not bad and has huge potential

*2025-11-11*

You need to charge it every day, which is a bit inconvenient — a full charge takes about 20 minutes.

There’s no blood pressure tracking yet.

The ring itself is sleek and very stylish. Step and heart rate tracking work well, though sleep tracking seems limited to a set schedule and doesn’t always capture additional sleep after waking up and going back to bed.

Overall, I’m satisfied with the ring so far. With upcoming updates, it has the potential to become an excellent product.

### 4/5 — Not bad

*2025-11-02*

Earlier reviews are very negative, I was worried that I'd have the same experience but it's working for me. ### 3/5 — Velia

*2026-04-18*

I’m happy I finally have my ring in (on) hand, but I am disappointed in a lot of things. Daily charging is frustrating. It also takes longer than 20 minutes. When I edit my sleep time, it doesn’t keep the update and reverts back to whatever it synced. I would also like a live look at my pulse ox and temperature. I also thought this was supposed to have blood pressure readings, and it, so far, does not. It does have variance, but if you don’t know your baseline, it’s not the most helpful. I love that it’s light, I don’t normally even notice it. I don’t seem to be sensitive to the receivers either, which I have been before in other products. For what I paid on kickstarter I’m not mad, but I would not purchase at full price right now.

**Developer response:** Hi! Thanks so much for taking the time to share this, we really appreciate it.

Editing your sleep times should definitely save, so if you reach out to our support team at hello@veliaring.com with your Velia account email, they can help resolve that.

On things like live readings and blood pressure, Velia is currently focused on tracking changes and patterns over time rather than single readings. As it’s not a medically certified device, we can’t provide absolute blood pressure values at this stage. Looking at variation over time is what becomes most useful long-term, as it helps you spot if something like blood pressure is trending upward faster than expected and may need attention.

Really appreciate all your feedback on charging, features, and overall experience, it helps shape what we prioritise next. Glad to hear it’s been comfortable to wear, too.

### 3/5 — Leaving bad reviews gets you help

*2026-04-17*

Update - after leaving a 1 star review, support responded.

The tap to connect is lame. Data is fine. I’m still wearing my Oura ring and they are pretty consistent. I like the aesthetics of the ring, but the battery life needs some help. I’ll keep trying but I’ll also probably buy the next gen of Oura. I want to love this ring after waiting so long to receive it… like the other reviewers, it’s… fine. Had I not been an Oura user from Gen 2 on, I’d think this ring was much cooler.

Original review- After waiting years for our rings, they arrived but we can’t set them up due to issues with the app. I contacted support 5 days ago and have not received a response.

**Developer response:** Hi there! We're really sorry you've had this experience and thank you so much for bringing this to our attention. We've identified and fixed the issue on our side, it was impacting a small number of users. Could you try again?

### 3/5 — Not good yet, new update not an improvement

*2026-03-03, version 1.0.40*

2nd update to my original review - recent update is much better, syncing is faster and the blood pressure trend stat is a good start. But please, please! ### 3/5 — Improving but has a way to go.

*2025-11-23*

This is a review of just the app and not the ring.

Update: The Velia team has been working on improving the app. It now syncs everyone’s need it to, even though it’s a manual process. It takes a lot of time to connect and then more time to sync, but it’s getting better.

Tl;dr - with the current issues, I find the app nearly unsuable. 2 stars because it isn’t fake, but it’s not good.

### 2/5 — App needs work

*2026-04-29*

Oura ring user for years, since their kickstarter, Ring size is great, but this app seems problematic it only gives me pulse, steps and calories, can’t get anything else out of ring, yes I did hard ring reset. Hopefully it will improve over time.

**Developer response:** Hi there! It sounds like something isn’t quite right with your setup, you should be seeing much more than pulse, steps, and calories. Our team would be happy to look into this with you at hello@veliaring.com. We’d love to get this working properly for you.
