The tilt controls are challenging but I have big thumbs and really struggle with on-screen controls, so it's actually a nice change. But in Velocispider, they're used to perfection and ideally calibrated. Good thing, too, because you need to think fast and move accurately to dodge enemies and rack up as high a score as possible on your way to an extremely satisfying final boss battle. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Crashes every time *2013-04-06, version 1.2.5* Screen freezes when it's game over, will not allow me to progress. Needs more modes like endless random mode or endless boss mode. iCade support is nice but only utilizing only 1 of the 8 buttons to fire and requiring me to slam the button down as fast as I can is bothersome. The springs on the iCade require some effort to push so I feel like I'm wearing out the button. 5 stars when iCade support is refined. ### 3/5 — Dissapointing *2011-06-01, version 1.0* This would have been a splendid gem for me...great music, retro style graphics and all that, but I don't like being locked into one control scheme. If it had the option for swipe or touch controls or some kind of d-pad I would be happy, but tilt just irks me so much. I want more! More more more! I’ve been playing this game consistently since it came out. Lots of other games have come and gone, but this one keeps a consistent place on my phone. Infectious music, aesthetically pleasing pixelated graphics and simple and easy to use controls with a cool story.
