## What is Velocity Made on Course?

Trimming your sails for speed is one thing; finding the fastest course to your destination is another. That’s where Velocity Made Good on Course (VMC) comes in—it tells you exactly how quickly you’re closing on your waypoint. VMC isn’t constant: as you move, the angle between your course over ground and the bearing to your target shifts, so your effective speed toward the mark keeps changing. With this app, just tap your destination on the map and your VMC will update in real time. Use it to choose how close-hauled or how deep to sail for maximum efficiency—essential insight for cruisers and racers alike.

Get real-time Velocity Made Good (VMC) data right on your wrist. The watch face also features a clear horizontal bar indicating your VMC as a percentage of your Speed over Ground (SoG) for quick reference.


A full, green bar indicates you're making progress towards your waypoint at the same speed as your SoG. As your VMC efficiency decreases, the bar will shrink and trend towards red. If your speed becomes negative (meaning you're moving away from the waypoint instead of towards it), the bar will no longer be displayed."etting away from the waypoint instead of approaching.
