## What is Veloterm?

Veloterm is a fast, native SSH client for iPhone and iPad with a built-in AI assistant.

Connect to your remote servers over SSH and work in a full xterm-256color terminal powered by SwiftTerm — with an AI helper that can suggest, explain, and fix shell commands.

SECURE BY DESIGN
• Host-key pinning (TOFU): a changed server fingerprint refuses the connection to defend against man-in-the-middle attacks.
• Passwords and private keys are stored only in the iOS Keychain — never synced, never logged.
• App Transport Security enforced. The app talks only to the SSH hosts you configure and, for AI, to Anthropic's API.

AI ASSISTANT — BRING YOUR OWN KEY
• Suggest, Explain, and Fix commands right from the terminal.
• Uses YOUR OWN Anthropic API key, stored in the Keychain and called directly from your device. No middle-man server, no analytics, no tracking.

FAST & NATIVE
• SwiftUI interface for iPhone and iPad, with split-view multitasking.
• Password or private-key authentication.
• Import and export your host profiles.

VELOTERM PRO
• Free: save up to 20 hosts.
• Pro (one-time purchase): unlimited saved hosts plus profile export/import.

Veloterm is an SSH client — it connects to servers you control and does not run a shell on the device.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.2 — 2026-08-10

Transfers view — see in-flight and recent file uploads in one place, cancel a transfer, and retry a failed one without re-entering credentials.

Key bar — a new key types the host's saved password, for sudo prompts.

Option as Meta is now a proper setting instead of a hidden per-tab toggle.

Fixed a rare stall when terminal output arrived while the screen was being redrawn.

### 1.1 — 2026-07-04

On-device AI: a new Apple Intelligence provider runs on your device with no API key and no network. Your prompt and terminal output never leave your phone (iOS 26).

Notify when a command finishes: lock your phone during a long build or deploy and get a Live Activity plus a notification the moment it is done.

Tap and hold to select terminal text and copy it, now working even inside tmux, vim, and other full-screen apps.

Broadcast one command to several connected sessions at once.

Organize hosts into folders, roam between Wi-Fi and cellular without dropping your session, and pick a Nerd Font for icons in your prompt.

SFTP file rename and chmod, voice dictation into the terminal, push a public key to a host, and a Known Hosts screen for your pinned server keys.

Host-key verification is strict by default: you review a new server fingerprint on first connect, and a changed key is always refused.

Reliability, performance, and security improvements throughout.
