## What is Velvet?

Velvet is a small, considered place - communities and the people in them.

By invitation only, Velvet brings together people who are intentional about connection. Discover communities built around shared values, attend events, and meet people who are genuinely on the same page as you.

— Communities
Join close-knit communities built around shared interests and values. Each community has its own channel for conversation, events, and connection.

— Discover
Browse members who share your communities and intentions. Like, skip, or connect. Velvet surfaces people, not just profiles.

— Events
See what's happening in your communities. RSVP, request to attend, and meet the people behind the plans.

— Chats
One-to-one conversations with your connections, plus community channels to stay in the loop.

— Your profile, your way
One canonical profile with per-community aliases — show up differently in different spaces, all from the same account.

Velvet is 18+ and available by invitation only. If you've received an invite code, welcome.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.0.3 — 2026-08-22

Velvet is now fully native on iPhone — quicker to open, smoother to move through, and lighter on your battery.

Communities, events, discovery and chats all work the way they did. They just feel better.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-08-11

Velvet is faster and smoother throughout. We rebuilt the app's screens natively for iOS, so everything opens and scrolls more quickly.

Also fixed:
- Tapping outside a text field now dismisses the keyboard while you're setting up your profile.
- Pulling to refresh your communities no longer briefly shows an error.

### 1.0 — 2026-07-27

No release notes.
