It locks on to your location with great accuracy, It’s just a shame it doesn’t have its own navigation tool, instead it asks whether you want to use Google maps or Apple maps. The entry on Lido is not even about Venice but about what the term lido refers to in England!! The map lacks any useful detail. To be charitable, I suppose it could be useful if you needed information about Venice and didn't have an Internet connection. Providing the developer proof read the material first and didn't just cut-and-blindly paste as obviously has been done. ### 1/5 — Definitely Not Worth $0.99 *2011-09-29, version 3.0.4* Having just come back from Venice and tried to use this app, I can tell you it is useless. Very few lanes, walkways, or even canals are actually labelled. I had hoped to rely exclusively on this app to find my way around, but I am so glad I bought a real, paper map before I went. I would have been in trouble if this app was all I had. When I opened it today in Venice to locate my location, it talks for ever to locating my position. So I closed it to reopen it, but this time it can't load the whole map. DON'T bother to buy this app, buy a REAL map and ask people around you for location if you don't know where you are exactly. ### 1/5 — Save your .99 *2011-05-29, version 3.0.4* I bought Rome2go and loved it. I thought Venice2go would be as good....it is not. Look closely at the screenshots of a blank map with blank red dotted lines. That's what you are paying .99 for. Get your kid's crayons...draw some dotted lines on a page and give the kid the .99. You'll be better off than I am for paying .99 for this useless app. ### 1/5 — Waste of Money = Worthless *2010-05-05, version 0* Do not buy this app. The information can all be found on Wiki. The map is horrible and has no definition or names. Venice is, honestly, one of the most difficult cities in the world to navigate, and this app makes it even more frustrating. I ended up deleting this app during my trip because it made me mad just seeing it on my phone. On the same trip we went to Paris, and the Paris 2Go app is much better. Again, I think the information provided in the app is worthless, but at least the map in the Paris version is usable. Would love to have my money back on this one. Always comes in handy and being able to download the map before you get there helps a lot. ### 5/5 — Brilliant- really useful! *2020-09-17, version 19.17* I’d happily recommend this app: it proved invaluable in Venice. Just download the offline map before you go and it’s all ready to work. We set where our hotel was as a fixed point, and boy, did we need it in the maze of alleys and bridges! Only once did the map not come up - I don’t know why but we were in an almost claustrophobic area of lanes and alleys at the time if that had anything to do with it and we only had the cursor blinking in the middle of a blank page for a while. But otherwise it worked perfectly. Next time we go away, I’ll definitely be checking if there is a map for there.
