What's New in Venturi Sports

1.6.0

August 24, 2026

React to sessions - Sessions now take a real reaction, not just a thumbs-up. Pick an emoji from the row, or open the full picker for anything else. - Emoji reactions work in direct messages and group chats too. Notifications, rebuilt - Every notification now shares one design. Previously the bell mixed two different row styles depending on where the notification came from; they're now one consistent list with avatars, unread markers, and relative times throughout. Forecast and conditions - A 1 HR / 3 HR toggle on the wind forecast, so you can zoom out on a long day. - Marine data now comes from the spot's own body of water. Lake spots no longer show swell from a distant ocean. - A timezone bug that hid conditions for 48 spots is fixed. - Spot alerts now evaluate tide against the same feed the app displays, so an alert can't disagree with the forecast you're looking at. - Weather overlays read more clearly: the basemap dims underneath them, data tiles render on the GPU where available, and wind arrows no longer clutter the wind and swell maps. Sessions - Export any session as a GPX file. - Swell and wave conditions are attached to sessions as they're recorded and backfilled onto older ones. - Phone recording uses far less memory in the background — long sessions are much less likely to be killed by the OS. - Recorded speed can't dip below zero, and the summary's Done button works while the save is still finishing. Courses - Overlapping course start flags group together and fan out when tapped, so crowded spots stay readable. - The course form scrolls clear of the keyboard, Save stays reachable while editing a route, and tapping the backdrop no longer discards a half-written course. Your gear - Community insights on the gear detail page show what conditions a piece of gear actually gets ridden in, wind against speed, and VMG. - The gear picker keeps the order you set instead of resetting it. Fixes and polish - Profile, the friends list, and the spot page no longer hide content behind the floating tab bar. - Setting a home spot stops removing it from your favourites. - Favouriting a spot that's still loading no longer fails silently. - Rider names on a spot's Recent Sessions are no longer cut off. - Input fields scroll clear of the keyboard across the app. - The alerts list is themed for dark mode. - The map filters sheet scrolls all the way to swell conditions. - Posting to the feed takes three taps instead of eight. - A like can't be counted twice.

Sessions lost

I’ve lost 2/4 sessions so far, so I’ll probably just go back to Strava. The first one got lost when my Apple Watch ran out of power. Strava would save the session properly for sync later but not Venturi. The second lost session was today when I ended my session late after 4 hours. I pressed and held the end session button properly but it never synced to my phone. Data loss is pretty unacceptable to me so I can give this app more than 3 stars, despite how much I like seeing my tack stats.

Exactly what I’ve wanted

I’ve been using other popular session trackers for years and have fully switched over to Venturi. I love the social aspects like courses, leaderboards and being able to see and comment on my friends’ sessions.

Best water sports app, hands down

I’m not a huge app user, but I use this one pretty much every day. I love that it tells me what size to rig, the safety features really help put me at ease when my husband’s doing a session alone, and the social aspect is awesome. Best watersports app, hands down!

Love, Love, Love!!

There is so much to explore on the app! Helpful forecasts, gear suggestions, networking, session tracking and so much more. I feel like I can really maximize my time, and the features are practical and useful. Every time I open it, I feel like I discover something new and cool!

Venturi is so fun and easy to use

Of all the apps I use for looking at wind and swell, this is the most intuitive. Super fun and easy. And you can see what your friends are up to.
