## What is VenueSpy?

VenueSpy is a gig-tracking CRM made for performers — not another bloated subscription-based tool. Whether you play music, do stand-up, DJ, or perform anything else, it works the same way.

Track the venues you play, the ones you want to play, and everything in between: who you talked to, when you last reached out, what they pay, and when you're booked.

VENUES & OUTREACH
• Keep every venue in one place with status tracking — potential, contacted, booked, completed
• See all your venues on a map, color-coded by status
• Save venue contacts with one-tap call, text, or email
• Log when you last reached out so no lead goes cold

BOOKINGS
• Book multiple dates per venue with times, pay, and arrival reminders
• Calendar view with gig dots so your month is readable at a glance
• Day-of-gig reminders and a "Time to Leave" alert based on live drive time
• Weather at showtime for outdoor gigs, so you know before you load in
• Send a gig to any calendar on your iPhone — including a Google or Outlook one you share with the band — and choose exactly what travels with it, so your fee stays yours
• Look 15 days ahead, or a month, or everything you have booked, and see at a glance which nights are solo and which are with the band

MONEY
• Track income, expenses, tips, and mileage per gig or on their own
• See what you actually took home after bandmate splits
• Manager and agent commission worked out automatically — set your rate once, override it on any single booking, and it lands in your books as a deductible expense instead of quietly shrinking your income
• Track what you owe bandmates and what you've paid them — sorted by year for tax time
• Save your regular lineups as bands, with splits that fill themselves in
• Generate PDF invoices for venues that pay against an invoice — with reminders so you never forget to send one (Business Pack)
• Export your books as CSV or a formatted PDF report

FIND ANYTHING
• One search box across venues, gigs, people, money and songs
• Money & Taxes gathers invoices, the monthly audit, 1099 summaries and exports in one place

SETLISTS
• Build setlists from your song library with total set duration
• Filter songs by artist, key, genre, and length
• Attach setlists to venues and performance types

MADE FOR PERFORMERS
• Color-coded design that keeps dates, money, and people scannable
• Quick action buttons you can customize on every screen
• 25 app icon styles
• Automatic iCloud backup of your venue data
• No account required. No ads. No tracking. Your data stays on your device and your private iCloud.

FREE, PREMIUM & BUSINESS
The free version includes 5 venues, 5 income entries, and 10 mileage logs — enough to get a real feel for the app.

Premium ($9.99, one-time) unlocks unlimited venues and income tracking, setlists, bandmate pay tracking, financial exports, outreach reminders, iCloud backup, and every future premium feature — less than a single drink at the bar you're playing.

The Business Pack ($9.99, one-time) adds professional PDF invoicing with send reminders and bandmate 1099 tax summaries — for performers who invoice venues and pay a band.

No subscription. Ever.

### 5/5 — Time to leave for a gig

*2026-08-08*

Very useful app, but my favorite part is the time to leave feature that tells me when I’m supposed to actually leave my house so that I get to a show on time. It doesn’t seem like a big deal but with my ADHD it’s very helpful to have a definitely time on the screen that shows me when to leave.

I also find the invoicing very useful.

### 5/5 — Great Organization!

*2026-08-01*

I love how much easier this app makes it to keep track of all the logistics in one place! Thank you Venue Spy!!

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4 — 2026-08-14

VenueSpy runs on iPad now.

IPAD
• A real iPad layout, not a stretched phone. Built against the 13-inch iPad Pro and sized properly on every other iPad, in both orientations and in Split View.
• Your screens live in a top row by default, or move them to a sidebar with the button in the top-left. Whichever you pick, it stays picked.
• Settings, forms and lists sit at a comfortable reading width instead of running the full width of the glass.

SETLISTS
• A new grid view of your song library. Zoom out to see everything you know at once, zoom in when you want to read the titles.
• Drag songs into the order you want and it holds — the list view opens in the same order.
• Press and hold any song to add it straight to a setlist, or start a new one.

THE GIG SHEET
• Expenses for the night you're playing are right there on the gig sheet. No more logging the parking twice.
• Set the event type on a single booking. A room that does a music night on Friday and comedy on Tuesday is one venue, and now your bookings can say which is which.
• "Post-Gig Notes" is just "Gig Notes". You were always writing the door code in there before the gig anyway.
• Notes you keep for a venue now show their date, so you can see what changed since last time.

SUMMARY
• Each section is outlined in its own colour, so you can find the one you want without reading.
• Gigs you haven't been paid for are now red. They were the same orange as everything else asking for attention, and they shouldn't have been.

SMALLER THINGS
• Setlists now opens on your song library instead of your setlists — it's the screen you actually want when a room asks for something else.
• A Reminders row in More that tells you whether your alerts are actually on. Most people never found them under Settings.
• Bookings and the map are easier to reach from the bottom bar.
• The purchase screen no longer shows a price it hasn't confirmed with the App Store.

Thanks for using VenueSpy.

### 1.3.1 — 2026-08-10

1.3.1 is a fix release. Almost all of it is money and calendar accuracy — the parts you shouldn't have to double-check.

MONEY
• Clearing a pay, tips or mileage field now actually clears it. Before, the screen said "Saved" and quietly kept the old amount.
• Setting pay from the pencil no longer wipes the number you just typed.
• Mileage you delete on a gig you've already played stays deleted, instead of coming back as the route estimate.
• "Pay received" saves from the gig sheet now, not only from the mark-complete prompt.
• Summary and Income can no longer disagree about the same month or year.
• The Monthly Breakdown stopped counting money from gigs that haven't happened yet.
• A gig awaiting payment no longer books a commission expense against income you haven't been paid.

CALENDAR
• Holding a date now genuinely puts a hold on your calendar. Before, it often did nothing and said nothing.
• Confirming a held date turns that hold into the real booking — on the night you held, not on today's date.
• Deleting a gig offers to remove its calendar event too, and says plainly that it can't be undone and that it disappears for anyone you share that calendar with. Every delete screen now words it the same way.

FINDING THINGS
• Bookings has a Completed / Upcoming filter.
• Income shows what you've paid bandmates this year, using the same figures as the 1099 prep so the two reconcile.
• Settings search finds the calendar settings. Searching "calendar" used to return nothing at all.
• The export screen is now "Taxes & Data Export", and says plainly that it isn't tax advice.

ELSEWHERE
• The Done key above the number pad is reliable now. It was intermittent for a time.
• Screens opened from More can always be closed again.
• Five new app icons — the microphone-in-a-pin from the website, in all five colours. 30 to choose from.

Thanks for using VenueSpy.

### 1.3 — 2026-08-08

Manager and agent commission, actually calculated.
Set your manager's or agent's percentage once in Settings and VenueSpy works out what each gig owes them. Rates can be overridden on a single booking, because the same room might be booked by your agent one month and by you the next — and only one of those owes anybody a cut.

Commission is recorded as an expense, not as income you never earned. Your gross stays honest, the deduction shows up where your accountant expects it, and your exports still reconcile against what the venue says it paid you.

Send gigs to any calendar — including one you share.
Choose which calendar bookings go to, grouped by account, so a Google or Outlook calendar you've added to iPhone is one tap away. Then choose what travels with them: gig pay, the venue address, your act type, your lineup, load-in time and gear notes each have their own switch. Turn pay off before you share a calendar with your band. Contact names, phone numbers and email addresses are never exported, on any setting.

See further ahead, and tell solo nights from band nights.
Tap the heading on the Summary timeline to step from the next 15 days to a month, three months, or everything you have booked — press and hold to jump straight to one. Duo and band bookings are tinted so they stand out from solo ones, and a tap on "4 band" filters the strip to just those.

A manager or agent for one gig only.
Someone brings you a booking at a room you usually handle yourself? Add their name and cut on that gig alone, without attaching them to the venue.

One search box for the whole app.
Search venues, gigs, bandmates, money entries and songs from a single field in the new More tab. Money & Taxes now gathers invoices, the monthly audit, 1099 summaries and exports in one place instead of scattering them through Settings.

Easier to get around.
The bottom bar is now Setlists, Income, Summary, Venues and More. Bookings, Bandmates and Bands moved into More, where each row shows a live count so you can see what needs attention without opening it. Screens opened from More support the swipe-from-the-left-edge gesture to go back.

Also in this release
• Weather at showtime now shows its Apple Weather attribution everywhere it appears
• The restore button names what it restores — Premium and Business Pack (tips are one-time thank-yous and aren't restorable)
• "Meals" is now "Food & Drink" — your existing entries were renamed automatically, and nothing else about them changed
• Income and expense categories now have icons, and so does the gig type picker
• Income & Expenses groups into Gig Income, Manual Entries and Commission — each one folds away, and the arrow beside it reverses the order
• The More screen's groups can be reordered, and Bookings is now a button on the Venues screen
• Tap "This Month" on the Summary screen to open the Monthly Breakdown
• A gig that runs past midnight now exports to Calendar correctly, and stays on the Today card until it actually ends
• Fixed this month's and this year's totals counting anything you'd dated into the future
• Buttons across the app now give proper haptic feedback
• Fixed a lag in Settings that could erase a percentage as you typed it
• Fixed the missing Done key on number keypads in Settings
• Setlists no longer squeezes its own title off the screen

### 1.2.2 — 2026-07-31

A big update — here's everything new since the last release:

ICLOUD SYNC FOR EVERYTHING
Your bandmates, income, setlists, songs, and lyrics now sync across your devices through your private iCloud — not just your venues.

REDESIGNED VENUE PAGES
• Bookings show as clear date cards — tap one to edit or delete it
• New gigs start from a single "Book Another Date Here" button
• A venue's status now sets itself from your bookings (Booked, Complete/Re-book), with a "Not Interested" option that keeps your history intact

SMARTER GIG SHEET
• Edit a gig's pay right on the sheet
• Recalculate mileage from your Home Base — great for venues you added before setting one
• Set indoor/outdoor in place
• Cleaner bandmate pay controls with clearer split math

SETLISTS
• Share or AirPrint a setlist as a PDF or plain text — perfect for sending to bandmates
• Songs now have a tuning field (Standard, Drop D, and more), shown right on the setlist
• Color-coded sections and a dedicated lyrics scratchpad for song ideas

MONEY & SUMMARY
• New Monthly Total breakdown — see income, tips, mileage, and hours per gig for any month
• Always-visible Today card showing your next gig
• Clearer tips breakdown and highlights for gigs still waiting on payment
• Mileage total now shows the date it started counting

MORE
• Optional tip jar to support development
• Haptic feedback with an on/off toggle in Settings
• Complete-but-waiting-on-payment tracking
• Lots of polish and bug fixes

Thanks for using VenueSpy!

### 1.1 — 2026-07-21

• Log how each gig was paid — cash, Venmo, check, and more — right on the gig sheet
• Mileage now auto-fills from your Home Base
• Search your settings instantly
• Faster money entry: a Save button within thumb's reach, plus a one-tap keyboard dismiss
• Completed gigs now list newest-first
• Fine-tune what's included in your exports and reports, with an option to leave out cash
• Many reliability and reminder fixes

Premium and Business Pack are optional one-time in-app purchases:
• PDF and spreadsheet (CSV) exports of your income require Premium
• Business Pack adds PDF invoicing (and reopening past invoices in the app), the Annual Tax Summary and 1099-prep PDFs, a full-year invoice ZIP export, and Monthly Audit reports (PDF & CSV)
