I’ve been enjoying in the app and I really appreciate the simple, straightforward layout. There are just a few things that I think would make it better:

1) It would be helpful if under “Schedule”, you could tap and open up days in the future like tomorrow or the day after tomorrow to see what plants may need watering. This is especially helpful for vacations or when I know it’s been a hot week and I’m trying to get ahead on watering or to adjust for the weather.

2) I wish you could somehow easily filter/sort so that you can organize the “Schedule” by room or if you could go to the Plants tab and see at a glance how many days left until watering (instead of just “Overdue” or “Up to date”). I have plants all over my house and it’s much easier to go room by room.

Im trying to add plants and I search monstera, pothos come up and so does mint, cactus and other plants that are not monsteras. I search for pothos and palms and snake plants come up. I still get results for my searches (some times you need to scroll up the list) but why include all the other plants that have no relation? What does a string of hearts have to do with begonias?

I cant rate the actual app and reminder function because I havent gotten that far yet.

I needed a simple reminder for my plants - one that didn’t come with a ridiculous monthly or annual fee. This app helps tremendously with maintaining a regular water/feeding schedule for them and keeping track of things such as repotting. 

I’ve been using the app for a year now and have never had a problem until recently. I reached out to Customer Support for help and was told to log out and back in or delete and download the app again. I didn’t want to delete it fearing I would lose all of my information so decided to log out. To my surprise (and not in a good way), when I “log in,” none of my information is there...IT’S ALL GONE! Over a year worth of history (I added additional history) LOST! 🤬 After some digging to figure out what happened, I learned that the only way the app will save your info is if you connected it to an email or Facebook account at sign up. MIND YOU, I downloaded this app when that wasn’t even an option, BEFORE Bloomscape took over, so I must have had an “anonymous user” account. Now HOW would I have known that?? 

One would think that Customer Support reps would suggest making sure you LINK an email or Facebook account BEFORE telling customers to delete the app or log out.    Thanks a lot Bloomscape! Again, love the app but you guys really need to communicate these things to your customers!

### 4/5 — FINALLY! A plant app with a log feature

First off, I am so happy to finally find an app that has a feature to log care. All the other apps I’ve tried just set a watering schedule, which isn’t helpful since I water based on feeling the soil. However to keep track of care it’s so nice to have a well organized place to do it (using spreadsheets or paper journals just gets so messy). 

That said, their plant database is a bit lacking (seems to be based off of just what they sell?). I hope as time goes by it continues growing. 

I would also really love to see a widget available for Home Screen on iOS. It’d be nice to have one sort of like the calendar app where you can see upcoming tasks.

This app has been great to help me keep track of when my plants need watering or the last time I treated them for pests. It is visually appealing and pretty thorough. 

A couple suggestions: I would love if on the page with all my plants listed if under each plant it would say something like “last watered 6 days ago” rather than “up to date”. Sometimes I don’t necessarily want to have a set schedule for a plant, but it is helpful to see right off the bat how long it has been since I’ve watered a plant. 

Another suggestion is to allow to go back further to record the last time a plant was taken care of. Because I have almost 40 plants, sometimes I miss recording a plant when I take care of it, but I can only record that it was done within the last three days or so.

I’m relatively new to being a plant owner and this app made it so much easier to keep track of my plants! It’s super easy to use and also aesthetically pleasing.
The only reason I gave it four instead is 5 stars is because some of the plants I have are not on this app. Once you enter a plant, it tells you more information about the plant (proper temperature, common issues, care, etc.) and since it didn’t include mine I had to download another app for all of that. Other than that, this app is super helpful and makes taking care of plants that much more fun!

I’ve been using this app for a couple months to keep track of all my plants. It has been great, it is easy to use and there hasn’t been major issues. I accidentally deleted one of my plants and I’m have been in contact with customer support to see if I’d be able to recover it. They were easy and pleasant to communicate with and very helpful. They were able to recover the plant, but even if they hadn’t it would still have been a positive customer service experience

Before the big update, the app was acting a little funky to where I was looking for another app, but they worked out their kinks and it works excellent now! I love the plant tips it gives you if you select the plant off their list. I emailed the devs last week about having a way to see upcoming plant care and a better way to search (bc I have too many plants) and they delivered after I updated yesterday. Definitely the best plant app I’ve tried so far. The reoccurring schedule is on point, you can write in any notes during your activity, and also view old pictures of plants with the dates on them.

This is exactly what I’ve been needing! Simple, easy to navigate, and free. Bloomscape is, in my experience, one of the best companies for customer service (it ties for my #1 spot with Chewy). This app takes all the things I love about Bloomscape (community, friendliness, ease, support) and wraps it up into a user-friendly app. I love that I can document and keep track of my plants so easily. I started ordering from Bloomscape after using their website so often for plant care tips for my other plants. They make their information so accessible, even to non-customers, which I love! I recommend this app!

I really do love this app a lot. I’ve been using it for about two months now and I’m glad the cropped photo bug got fixed. I genuinely appreciate how the developers continue to make this app better, for free. I am choosing to give it 4 stars because it does still have a *little* work to go. And I really mean a little. Not that it’s a big deal, it is still worth mentioning. I tried to add special needs to a new plant I got, and no matter how I did it (when adding a new plant or editing the plant’s needs), it doesn’t want to save my special instructions. Once there’s a bug fix to this, I will gladly give it 5 stars again.

It’s a very good app and I like it because it doesn’t have a monthly or yearly subscription like most apps, because my family doesn’t make a lot of money, but God’s helping us through every step. Because of CoVid-19 we decided to get a few mint plants because my dad discovered plant dividers in the backyard, and our porch has a nice brick half-wall (rail? Idk maybe a fence?). It’s very useful and I’ll recommend it to any of my friends that are growing plants, even though I’m pretty sure they all (including me) spend a bit (no a lot) too much time on Xbox and our devices. From someone who has a busy schedule and can barely remember to feed my dog sometimes, I needed an app that would help me remember my plants. I found Vera and decided to give it a try and wow it’s awesome. You put in individual profiles on each of your plants and you can make a watering/fertilizer schedule specific to each plant and then the app will send out a reminder to do those things! You can also choose at what time of the day you want the reminder which I enjoy as I can water my plants in the morning before work and then not forget about it. I also love that the app is free, it’s great quality for it being free. 
My only thing that I’d like for the developers to add is a way to send your plant information to other people because when I leave for a trip I’d love to be able to send the information to a friend so they know exactly when to water my plants. That’s the only thing so far that I’d add in.

### 1/5 — Email signup doesn’t work & can’t delete account

Trying to sign up with an email address sticks me in an endless loop as many have mentioned in your app ratings for months now. I get the emailed link, click it (from the same device the apps is on: my phone), it opens in the browser, and I can’t get it to sync with the app. I had to I click all those options just to set a password/login online, but still can’t get it to sync with the app. I work in app development. There’s no excuse for it to take this long to fix, especially for something so basic that every site has. Just let the user sign into the app with their email & password created in the browser...don’t make it auto-open the app on the same device, That leaves a huge opportunity for something to go wrong across all the devices and OS’s out there, especially with continuous updates across all of them.

Additionally, there is no way to delete my account from the web. That is simple, and should have been one of the first things developed after the basics were done.

I’m having the worst luck with this app. 

I’m trying to get signed in and it’s just a continuous loop of clicking on the link in the email they send. I try to sign up with my email, they send a link, I click said link, it says it’s going to “save my place in the app”, but instead of taking me back to the app (which I have tried leaving open and closing before clicking link) it takes me to the App Store. If I click to open the app from the App Store it takes me to the sign up page and the cycle of me submitting my email to receive the link to actually get me inside the app (but not actually making it in) starts all over again. 

I’m over it, I don’t need it (or at least I don’t think I do, who knows since I can’t get in). Uninstalling. :(

The app has vastly improved with more recent updates. I’d still like to be able to group plants together or select multiple to be able to log the same care. However, I went in to log some care this morning before work and all of my plants were gone. It says I have no plants. I have been logging care and pictures for a year now and now it’s gone? I am wildly frustrated and if I can’t get it back I’m probably done with this app.

I have really been enjoying the app. It’s a great way to log care and keep track of when I last watered. I don’t use the water schedule as I read my plants leaves instead of sticking to a schedule. A big feature that would vastly improve the app would be to be able to group plants together like in an arrangement. I group and regroup and move my plants around relatively often and I would like to be able to say I watered these 5 plants that are together rather than log their individual care. Another thing would be to sort plants alphabetically (without compromising plants that are shown on the screen at once) and make it stay sorted however the user wants each time they open the app.

I really like this app for naming all of my plants and keeping them in order. It helps me remember when I watered last and I treat my plants like little humans so I love to name them—but! I miss the old interface. It was so much easier to upload my plants into the system and, now, if I choose a picture from my camera roll, it just crashes every single time. It takes me double the amount of time to input plants because it’ll crash four times before I can finally input one and I kind of have started avoiding Vera because of it. I just realized last night that I have so many plants that I haven’t named and set into the app yet and it’s all because adding them this new way is so much more exhausting. If I was rating the app before, it would have five stars. Now, I’ve knocked it down because of app crashes and easy of usability. Please bring the old uploading back. I miss it so much.

### 3/5 — Pretty but only optimized for plants they sell

This is an aesthetically pleasing app with some nice functionality (plant timeline allows for multiple photos, plants are grouped by location, etc) but the number of species in their database is tiny and unpredictable, excluding some entire very common houseplant species and having 5 detailed entries for cultivars that are different only in appearance for others. This turns out to be because the app is “by Bloomscape” and only includes species that they sell (for like $65 PER PLANT LOL) on their site, thus 5 kinds of Rex begonia but no wax begonia in the plant lookup. There is no option for you to enter a plant to the database itself for future inclusion, only to create your own personal entry.

Even for plants that have care data in the app, this doesn’t prepopulate in the care schedule set up, unfortunately. The app is a great idea and I’m yet to find a truly functional houseplant app, but I’m not sure it’s worth the energy to just use this as a note/reminder app and hand enter all my plant details even for the most mainstream species - at that point I could just use the phone calendar.

I have three plants, a Boston fern, an African violet, and a Shamrock plant.  None of them are in the greenhouse.  I also guess I misunderstood what this app is for.  For my Boston fern I chose Kimberly Queen fern.  When I entered information about it, the app asked me for special instructions, like what sunlight it needs.  Then it asked me how often to water it.  I thought the app would tell me these things.  I have a history of either overwatering or underwatering my plants. I was hoping this app would know how much and when I should water everybody.  If it could that I’d give it 10 stars.

I have this app downloaded to my iPad and iPhone. I have 25 plants so I love the photo, schedules, and reminder features. However, I cannot add new plants to iPhone because the viewer is too large and it won’t let you scroll down to enter the name and watering schedule. Now on the iPad, I can enter new plants, names, schedules BUT cannot add photos and for some reason the iPad app shuts itself down while I’m using it. It is very annoying to have to switch back and forth between devices in order to use all of the features. But I don’t know of a good alternative so...

I really want to love this app! I was so excited when I started using it as I have over 60 indoor plants and it’s getting hard to keep track of what needs water when. However, as much as I love the layout as ease of use, when I click that a plant had been watered, it doesn’t register and still shows it needs watering. When I go into the plant it says it hasn’t been watered in x amount of days, but when I go into activity, it says I’ve watered it twice today (since I’ve tried to click it twice to get the notification to go away) so, I hope someone can fix this as I’ve uploaded about 25+ plants so far and I would hate to switch apps at this point. It’s so close to be amazing!

I’ve been using this app for more than 2 years now and I love seeing my plants grow from being small. The only issue I’ve been having since updating the app a year ago was swiping the photo. Everytime I swipe right to see new changes on my plant, it exits and go to About section. It’s frustrating. Also the quality of the photo is bad so whenever I zoom in the pic, it’s blurry. I like the look of the app though

Would be great if it included oh level, which is very important for most plants. Also does not include soil type. Would be nice to see a little info about sprouting new plants from a leaf or stem. Other than that it’s a great app and includes a lot of information to take proper care of plants. I love that it includes the option to add notes and different pictures. Would be great if it had a category section. For example, I have many of the same type but in different stages of growth. It would be great to have each of those under one category like “ Arabica”. Then list each plant considering different sizes require a different watering, misting or food schedule.

I tried probably 8 plant apps. This is the ONLY one that lets me note that I watered my plants on a different day than when I am entering the note. It also lets you make your own watering schedule instead of forcing you to use one based off their database, and it lets you delay a watering reminder by 2 days if you decide your plants don’t actually need water that day. Best plant app for sure!

I am new to houseplants - got my first one a month ago - and I wanted an app to help me track watering, fertilising, repotting…all the plant-y things. I tried a few others, but didn’t like how limited they were due to wanting you to pay for them. (We are a young, single income family, so we definitely don’t have the budget to be dropping $30 on an app!) Cue this app, Vera; I saw it featured in an article online and gave it a go, despite it being labelled more for established plant folks. I love it, and think it is totally beginner friendly! 

The layout is open and aesthetic, and I really like all the updates you can add to your plants. The reminders and snooze buttons are nice as well. I like that you can name your plants and give them a profile picture; it’s cute, fun, and useful for if someone else needs to care for a plant while you’re gone or something. I have repotted 5 plants, and like that you can track each one as well. (They all seem to be doing really well, which is shocking and makes me so happy! Never thought I could do this.) 

I really don’t have any cons for this app. It’s exactly what I wanted, and I love that it’s free. I would recommend to anyone that has houseplants. :)

I like this app a lot. Very helpful reminders. Nice look (I like having photos of all my plants, and I’m now familiar with their scientific names thanks to the app). One complaint: I never see app icon badges (little number next to the icon, telling me I have an alert). I’ve confirmed that it’s turned on in settings, restarted the phone etc., and I can turn on & off icon badges for many other apps, just not this one, so I think it must be an issue with the app.  Please fix. That would make this app perfect.

Unlike some of Vera’s competitors, Vera lets ME decide my plant’s care and scheduling. I love that Vera does provide vasic care information for my plant, but it doesn’t force a watering or feeding schedule onto me. Vera lets me create the schedule and alter as needed. It also lets me keep a journal of each of my plants for any changes, such as repotting, new growth, wilting, change of environment, etc. 
It’s very organized and easy to use. Vera makes plant care simple and acknowledges that not all plants are going to thrive on a schedule. There are many factors that contribute to a watering schedule, so apps that tried telling me to water my plant every 6 days were actually killing my plant! Vera sends a gentle reminder (that I requested), and gives me the option to skip a watering and postpone the reminder if it’s not required.

Everything I could have asked for to help me take care of my plants! I’m fairly new to the plant world but over covid I have acquired quite a few plants all over my house. This has been so helpful to make sure I don’t forget any of them and remind me when to take care of them. It’s like keeping a journal to learn and figure out what did and didn’t work, only better since you can store photos, progress and track more specific things you might not think of. Also the blogs and plant care that links up with your plant has already helped me figure out what was wrong with a plant and save it!

Was always great, however app just erased 2 years of plant data. Progress photos, notes, care instructions, fertilization schedule for each plant...all gone. I’m so upset. I loved seeing the photos of how far my plants have and now I have no idea last time each plant was fertilized. It’s like starting over. Ughhhhhh!!
Update: a support specialist contacted me and to my surprise within a few days they had retrieved all my data and ever was just as before. I was very impressed by their customer service. They really went above and beyond. Thank you!

This is definitely hands-down the best plant reminder I’ve ever used. The best part is not that it’s FREE but that you get an IMMEDIATE RESPONSE if you ever have a problem with this FREE APP!!  I had to contact customer service/app developers twice. They responded to my email quickly and walked me through resetting the app (which solved the problem). The second time they were way ahead of me. They had discovered a bug. They also notified me directly when the issue was resolved. It’s a FREE APP and they keep up with it!  
(Just so you know I don’t waste my time (or money) on glitchy apps. If it’s not user friendly or the app has weird problems I don’t bother!)

I’ve tried out a bunch of the top apps and I love that this one is simple and doesn’t force you to use reminders. It lets you do what you need to do.

One thing I wish were an option is for a reminder/task related to regular pest control. I’d love to be able to set a weekly reminder to wipe down my plants with neem oil or mark that I had to rinse the soil with water and dish soap. Not that that’s a super common thing per se. But given that this is the only plant app I use, I’d love for that to be included.

I’d also love a widget that pulls up your plant photos. That way I could have that on my Home Screen and see my bebés virtually.

Also a feature for tracking propagations would be cool.

And it’d be nice to be able to make a note of the soil mix used. I guess the notes could be used for this.

I really do love this app and think there’s a ton of room for growth!

This app has been wonderful for making notes and keeping track of all of my plants. I mostly use it as a way to show people my plants as I really like the photo feature to make each entry unique and how you have the info for some types of plants. I have had this app for about 4 months now and the plants that didn't have info in the beginning still have nothing, I know it is a lot of research so I get it. One thing I think would be absolutely ideal would be to add a window of months to the fertilizer schedule mechanism, so like if I only need to fertilize my orchid from June to august, I wouldn't have to go in and change it once the fertilizer season is over. Just an idea!

I recently downloaded this app to keep track of my plants, I was having issues uploading pictures of my plants (the app would crash) as advised above, I emailed Vera with the issues I was having. Within an hour Joe W. Responded very throughly asking questions based off what I was experiencing. My issues have since been resolved. I’m impressed by the customer service, I feel like I usually receive a vague “we will look into this issue” type of email; but not here! Looking forward to purchasing from their website as well!
